I will go with Gold Dust Woman and Gypsy.

MacShadowsBall 12-05-2010 07:02 PM

It's up now, just takes me a few minutes. This is fairly serious and I wanted to do it correctly.

bluefox4000 12-05-2010 07:03 PM

Out of those, Gold Dust Woman, and Sara

Mick

CreepingDeath 12-05-2010 07:09 PM

God, talk about Sophie's Choice.

I went with Gold Dust Woman and Rhiannon in the end, but I really love them all.

Silver Springs 12-05-2010 07:09 PM

I didn't even have to think. Gold Dust Woman and Silver Springs are perfect to me. Silver Springs most definitely so (duh). It probably sounds incredibly dull to say so, but I adore the romantic (or anti-romantic) "play" constructed within the confines of Silver Springs. It leads you into all manner of emotional journeys and thought processes as you try to understand the Protagonist's (Doesn't neccassarily have to be Stevie though one would think so) relationship and how it went wrong. And most importantly, who's taken their place and offered something they couldn't live up to.

TerraRhiannon 12-05-2010 07:14 PM

This was difficult for me, because I think all the first 5 of them are equally great, Rhiannon was their first hit and it's just magical, but in the end I had to go with Silver Springs & Gold Dust Woman, they are all pretty haunting songs.

You're freaking me out now. We always vote for the same things! It's not right :p

Holy crap! Well I'm copying you because I voted first, but this is freaky. Great minds think alike, what can I say? :xoxo:

Artemis 12-05-2010 07:25 PM

Oh dearie me this was difficult. I love them all.

I have to go with... Rhiannon. And. Gypsy. No. Silver Springs. No. Gold Dust Woman. No...

Rhiannon and Gypsy. They need the votes more.

Haha. Great minds indeed  It's a comfort to know at least that I'm not the only person to harbour my convoluted opinions hehe :xoxo:

Well, this was excruciating-- I love almost all of these dearly. Silver Springs was the immediate choice, though. It gets to me in a way I'm not sure any other song does: "You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you." So beautiful and haunting, and so completely Stevie.
Which left me choosing between Gold Dust Woman and Rhiannon. I went with GDW (which, I guess, makes me a trend follower), but not an easy choice.

My favorite Stevie song of all time, though, is Storms.

MacShadowsBall 12-05-2010 07:36 PM

wow lots of responses! Great! This whole thing is exciting and interesting. Looks like songs from the Rumours album are doing pretty well, since YMLF is in the lead for Christine along with GYOW for Lindsey.

Don't forget to check out Christine and Peter's noms on the Pre-Rumours forum.

TrueFaith77 12-05-2010 07:51 PM

I voted "Gypsy" (only) but now wish I had thrown one to "Rhiannon." Anyway, this marks a radical shift on my part to where, for some reason, I may now consider "Gypsy" to be Stevie's masterpiece.

MissLadyLoki 12-05-2010 08:11 PM

Gold Dust Woman and Sara was my vote, even though I wish Storms was there

Yes, Storms is pure brilliance.

"Not all the prayers in the world could save us". perfection.

GypsySorcerer 12-06-2010 11:17 AM

Tough decision, but I went with Gypsy and Sara. Gypsy, in its album form, is simply divine.

TrueFaith77 12-06-2010 11:37 AM

I love GDW. But I don't love it as much as, say, Sisters of the Moon.

michelej1 12-06-2010 12:43 PM

Well, I was thinking Rhiannon and Sara, but Rhiannon has suffered because of the dull stage performances, so I forget the magic of the song sometimes. Plus, I wanted to give a nod to the more recent triumph of Thrown Down. So I went with Sara and Thrown Down.

Nominations Update

The nominations close in less than 7 hours. It's still a tight race. Remember the top 3 songs move on to the Stevie finals.

amberlemegan 12-09-2010 12:50 PM

I went with Gypsy and Gold Dust Woman.
That was the hardest decision ever.

tilthefirefades 12-09-2010 04:40 PM

I am completely dumbfounded at the amount of votes GDW has gotten. Rhiannon is the mother to all of Stevie's mystical songs, and in my opinion a billion times better.

MissLadyLoki 12-09-2010 05:02 PM

I voted for Gold Dust Woman, but I expected Silver Springs to destroy everyone else.

I voted for both, but I expected and hoped that Silver Springs would prove itself to be the real winner. I'm worried about the tie between itself and Sara though. I can see somebody coming in at the last moment and voting for Sara, knocking SS out of the running all together :(

chiliD 12-09-2010 06:12 PM

Without "Rhiannon", no fame...therefore, the rest of the songs become also rans.

MacShadowsBall 12-09-2010 06:50 PM

Just a few minutes until nominations close...don't ya feel the excitement in the air...

Dodfather 12-09-2010 07:15 PM

Gotta be Gypsy and Silver Springs. My 2 favourites!

MacShadowsBall 12-09-2010 07:16 PM
