Favorite appearance era

Blame Jillian (TerraRhiannon) for this one. She said Nicksy should have on too, and her wish is granted. Single selection, pick your favorite era Stevie, yadda yadda yadda. And BTW, since I had to keep it down to 10, Bella Donna and Mirage have been merged (they both have the same fuzzy hair look then).

vivfox 12-01-2010 08:37 PM

Every look from 1975-1982, but I voted for White Album/ Rumours.

Silver Springs 12-01-2010 08:38 PM

I always loved how maternal and warm she looks from the Dance era onwards. She really looks approachable and, dare I say it, a bit of a Molly Weasley in her "mothering" attitude. Aww heck...She looks like she'd give great cuddles (not just your bog standard, brief hug) , and I need one lol.

MissLadyLoki 12-01-2010 08:40 PM

I voted for White Album/Rumours. She looked so adorable (hey, she did. She looked like she was 12 and that shaggy haircut made her look even cuter) and the fact that I like her Rumours dress so much (the fact that it was so simple and showed what she's all about at the same time) only helps my case.

cristochango 12-01-2010 10:06 PM

I had to go Bella Donna.

For me, its really the '81 HBO concert that sealed the deal :)

tilthefirefades 12-01-2010 10:12 PM

Street Angel

Photobucket

An honorable mention to Wild Heart because she was gorgeous there too.

TerraRhiannon 12-01-2010 10:20 PM

Yes, you can blame me for this one. Oiii - I have no idea what to vote for, though xD I love her in every era, you all know that by now :D But really, during Rumours she was just so cute, I love The Other Side of The Mirror, minus the repulsive stage clothes, the video for Rooms On Fire drives me wild, uhm, during Street Angel I loved her hair ...I'm rambling... Trouble In Shangri-La she was super pretty, I love her look for Unleashed too...ahhh...Okay I'm gonna settle with Trouble in Shangri-La. ♥

Artemis 12-01-2010 10:24 PM

I have to agree with everything Viv said.

White Album-Wild Heart = Sex on legs.
Rock A Little Era = Hot mess.
Tango = Sleepy mess.
TOSOTM = Shoulderpads and sheep hair.
Street Angel = Yes, Stevie Nicks has breasts.
The Dance-Present = Growing old gracefully. Shiny hair. Silky smooth.

Aussie W/Heart 12-01-2010 10:28 PM

Oh i cant decide ive gone back & forth 10 times, between Rumours & Wild Heart.. ok here goes Wild Heart it is!!!!!!

Shiny hair & silky smooth, that's Mama Nicks

Artemis 12-01-2010 10:41 PM

She must spend a fortune - both in money and in time - on her hair, it's so pretty when it's all straightened out.

Although, she still looks fab with curly hair - she looks so young on the SYW album cover.

fringed n fab 12-01-2010 10:45 PM

I actually like her looks from Rock A Little through early Tango and OSOTM (at times) because I loved her sculptured hair with all the teased layers and when it looked fabulous, it really looked fabulous. And all those cool stage outfits of this time. And RAL era with all the layers she threw on. Her look was so witchy with all that.

sorcerer999 12-01-2010 11:08 PM

I voted for The Wild Heart era because she was absolutely stunning (both hair and clothes...ESPECIALLY the clothes! There were so many on this tour). Also, I haven't seen her have as much fun on stage since the Wild Heart tour.

louielouie2000 12-01-2010 11:26 PM

Rumours for sure. She was more polished in appearance than the white album. Her looks were just purely classic from '76-'78. I think Stevie's later looks were less refined... she started doing silly stuff with her hair (the Tusk megabun, for instance), and started piling on more and more very dated looking clothes. I guess all the money and fame made her lose her sense... because to me, after '78 or so, she looked like a hot mess most of the time.

CreepingDeath 12-02-2010 03:36 AM

It's a toss up between Rumours and The Wild Heart. She was stunning during both...

TerraRhiannon 12-02-2010 09:48 AM

She was really stunning during white album/Rumours, & I think people like the shaggy look she had going on with her hair then.

Maxd9 12-02-2010 05:00 PM

I think she looks gorgeous all the time, but I voted for Bella Donna. As far as I'm concerned, the White Winged Dove concert video is the sexiest she's ever looked.

The Wild Heart for me! I love it! She looked AMAZING when she appeared on Solid Gold!

APerfectLie 12-03-2010 12:39 AM

TUSK for sure!

eeek I can't believe you like the Tusk bun. That frizzy brown mess looked like she stuck her head into an oven for 45 minutes before each show. Someone needed to wrap her head into a hot towel of conditioning treatment back then. :sorry:

Man, THAT'S a little harsh ;) I am not a big fan of it, but I will say it looked really dull & lifeless. Minus the Tusk Bun, she was really gorgeous.

We're harsh sometimes because we love her really. She wouldn't be who she is today without the many different looks and phases and none of us including her I imagine, would go changing a thing now.

I wasn't really a fan of the tusk bun actually, but it had it's moments.

I love her pre-tusk looks, but her hair was thin and she looked really young. Childlike even in some pics. However, she looked much more womanly with Tusk. What I did love about Tusk is how healthy she looked. And when her hair wasn't in that birds nest, it looked so much fuller and healthier. She still looked amazing until RAL, but her hair started getting really frayed looking around Bella Donna. And she looked amazing in TWH too, but Tusk still wins! See below:

I have never saw her hair as being "thin". If anything she's always had very full and thick hair. As for the post Bella Donna frayed-ness, that's most likely from all the perms and color overprocessing taking it's toll. Which is why she's more cautious today with her tresses. Stevie was always known for her wild rock hair, I don't think she ever set out to do a nice Pantene commercial, and still doesn't.

nailatixela 12-03-2010 04:06 PM

I voted for Tusk too. Love her look. The entire band was at peek hotness during Tusk. (except John - John's best look is in those Tango promo shots)

I totally don't get all the hate for the Tusk bun, I think it's stunning; and that picture proves it, she looks amazing there. The hair goes really well with that gorgeous red dress.

David 12-04-2010 02:29 AM

When I think Tusk, I think late Tusk, not early Tusk. Different look, different hair, different vibe. My favorite. (Think of those photos of Stevie backstage at the Bowl with Bonnie Raitt.)

There is that one early Tusk era shot--I think it ran in Circus--of the whole band against a striped yellow backdrop, with Stevie in profile dressed in blue velvet. Love that one. Also love the photo on the cover of the "Sara" sheet music.

Remember that all the shots that look like Tusk in the tourbook are actually Rumours.

Maybe thin isn't the word, but I guess pre-tusk it looked very flat? Idk, her hair just seems so much fuller and natural in tusk compared to prior to tusk and after.

Rumours.
The quintessential Stevie Nicks for me.

silvasprings 12-04-2010 07:13 AM

I voted RAL for that wild hot mess! But I love that late Wild Heart to early 1984 hair eg. how she wore it on SNL and Solid Gold, It worked so well with the hair flicks during the dancey bit in Stand Back :D

She had a generous head of hair naturally but perms just added to the volume and poofiness of it. Perms are going to do that to anyone.

Exactly. And her Tusk perms were the best IMO.

I think some of her best perms and hair came during the Seven Wonders and Rooms on Fire period.

Rumours, for me!

Some of those live outdoor shots where she's got the top hat and/or climbing on the piano or leaning on the bongos..... I mean, I literally have to tear myself away from just staring at her. She really is like a rock n roll goddess, in that era.

LiquidDiamonds 12-05-2010 10:18 AM

Definitely Rumours.

Again, Street Angel got votes:shocked: More votes then The Dance

starshine 12-05-2010 03:32 PM

Well I picked BD/Mirage but for me its really late Rumours like '77 (Japan Rumours) through Tusk/BD/Mirage /WH and very early RAL like 84 (or Mirror/Mirror). Those are my favorite eras. I don't mind the others so much either. Though RAL/Tango/Mirror outfits --some. SYW stuff ugh.
