The return of the favorite appearance era poll!

Blame elle for this one. She said that we should redo this poll with different eras and single choice, so I listened to her. Anyways, pick your favorite appearance era for Bucky, one choice per person, yadda yadda yadda. And this time around, I got pics I took from holidayroad's TinyPic, so enjoy.

EDIT: I'm kinda pressed for time now, but they'll be up by tomorrow. And I'm gonna start doing it now!

White Album/Rumours (I hate to say it, but he rocks guyliner better than any of the guys from Green Day and My Chemical Romance combined)
http://i55.tinypic.com/29c1dao.jpg

Tusk (even when he's clearly not amused with your antics he looks hot)
http://i52.tinypic.com/4g0r6b.jpg

Law and Order/Mirage (I didn't wany anything with that horrible hat and Huck Finn outfit, so I got this pic instead)
http://i44.tinypic.com/148ktc0.jpg

Go Insane (at least Bee and holidayroad will like this)
http://i52.tinypic.com/1zq982h.jpg

Tango in the Night
I can't find any pics, but here's the Seven Wonders vid for your pleasure :p
http://www.mtv.com/videos/fleetwood-...ml#artist=1071

Out of the Cradle (I have trouble finding pics from this era, but I like how relaxed he looked-- hey, give me back my skinny jeans!)
http://i56.tinypic.com/ncfvpi.jpg

The Dance (I hope)
http://i54.tinypic.com/33tghzd.jpg

Say You Will

And anything after SYW, use this

Haha, I clicked to see who had already voted, & wasn't surprised in the least to see you (cassie) voted for TUSK

PS- Cassie, tonight you should send me a picture of Bucky in every era if you can find them & have time lol. I'm not highly educated in this matter..

I think i might have the time tonight, but it'll be up by tomorrow at the latest.

BTW, vote for Tusk cause that was his best era

McTrouble 11-30-2010 10:26 AM

It's probably no surprise by now that its SYW for me!

Thanks Cassie:)!

I'm actually somewhat undecided between tusk era and SYW. So i'll sit on it for a little bit... but in general, my ranking would go:
  1. (2.) Tusk album recording/tusk tour rehearsals era - just gorgeous (however, armani suits and guyliner during the actual tour not my favorite)
  2. (1.) SYW era, starting with AHI benefit in 2001 - all good
  3. OOTC/1993 inauguration era - hot, plus still looked so young in retrospect
  4. L&O/Mirage - so cute, although plucked eyebrows ruin it at times
  5. UTS/Crossroads w/ LBT - handsome, but getting older...
  6. Dance - don't like bloatiness, but it went away during the tour - and this was the time i first noticed LB, singing SHN...there is some tv clip from one of the morning shows at the time i think where woman comentator watches big love performance and says something like "ooh-hoo, LB... is it hot in here or what?"
  7. GOS/Unleashed - better in a bit longer hair phases from this time
  8. TITN - too pretty for my taste
  9. GI - one word - hair (and also too pretty, plucked eyebrows, etc)
  10. FM/Rumours - don't like it at all - the appearance, the voice (although he could actually really sing back then)

chazlightyear 11-30-2010 10:34 AM

I voted, yeah we all know what for:D

McTrouble 11-30-2010 10:34 AM

Cassie - thanks! Give me a little time, I'm a real technophobe and am really only just figuring out how to use The Ledge never mind anything else! The husband is the real computer whizzkid but I'm trying to do things myself without asking him for help!!!!

You sound a bit like my mom right there. She can't operate a DVD player, has texted to a landline phone (I plan on submitting that one to CollegeHumor's Parents Just Don't Understand feature, and she was fine with it), and has done other things I can't quite think of right now, but are equally funny.

Anyways, I gotta rustle up some pics soon and not tomorrow (I gotta do something for my advertising project), so keep an eye for on the OP.

Go Insane is my personal favourite, although all of them are pretty high contenders.

Top 5
1. Go Insane - The Slow Dancing video is all the reason you need :p
2. Say You Will - Seasoned but still delicious
3. Tusk - Very affeminite but still sweet. Almost Pixie-ish with his short crop of hair. He looks vulnerable and it's very endearing.
4. Rumours - Got to love that wild man look. Buddha knows I would have loved to run my fingers through that 'fro.
5. Under The Skin - Same reason as Say You Will. He carries his age very well indeed.

Appearance = Good concert performance

If that's the case (and after I voted I
figured out that's not what was meant)
I'd say he was at the top of his game
for the Out Of The Cradle time
period. His appearances on Letterman
testify to this. He rocked those nights.
I thought the Turner was going to catch
fire.

Perfomance is where it's at. Only women
should be judged by their appearance.

Well apparently you have far more of an interest in minor comments than I have.

elle 11-30-2010 07:41 PM

ok then. to clarify to anybody who might still be confused:angel:, in this poll we are judging appearance!;)

Rightly so!

On a topic of age, I do tend to agree with alot of the long term fans that he has "grown into" his looks as he has grown older. Don't get me wrong, he's always been a very fine looking man. But in some eras there is a slight awkwardness about him. For example, I never quite got used to the phenomena of him actually looking younger years after his Rumours/White album era. No matter how much I enjoyed the fuzzy eras, they added years onto him.

Ditto.

SYW era was when he did the Soundstage DVD too, and he's unbelievably good looking ( OK, he's HOT! ) there. Yeah, early 2000s were good for him

Second would be UTS 'cause it's a lot like SYW, and I love the concert bootlegs from that tour.

Third would be a tie between Tusk, Tango. GI and OOTC, 'cause he looked really cool then and his eyes seemed even bluer (???...I mean more blue - lol )

Followed by GOS, The Dance and Rumours - in that order I guess, but they're all good :)

Mirage and LnO seem like they should be different to me...he's cute as anything in Mirage, but LnO I never really liked

BTW, I find it kinda amusing that Cassie is doing this poll, when she can never keep her eras straight, herself  (jk)

hey, i actually might agree with you there... although tusk amd mirage era, plus syw era were not bad top-of-the-game-wise either! hmmm... seems like we should do another poll?:wavey:

sorry my bad, but aren't both 1981/82? there's some late night show interview when he was promoting L&O (in some kind of red plaid shirt under the jacket), and he looked exactly like during Mirage shows.

CreepingDeath 11-30-2010 08:26 PM

Where's the speedo/swim team option? That's the only drool worthy era, imo. Oh well. I guess it's between Tusk or OOTC...

I meant that literally, for me ...I'm fine with them being grouped together for the sake of time frames, and I realize they are practically the same...BUT when I see him on the Merv Griffin Show ( maybe the show you're thinking of ) he looked kinda goofey and awkward ( though still adorable ). But during the Mirage concerts he looked far from goofy and awkward...he looked dark and menacing ( Uh, except for the goofy hat... ). Soooo, I meant more in his expressions, and body language than in his physical features...

yeah, although on songbird at the end of mirage video he still looked boyish - so may depend on what goes with the song. or maybe on amount/type of drug consumed at the specific time:D

same era was also that "spinnin' of the world" performance w/ John Stewart i think - also extremely cute but somewhere between lightness of Merv Griffin show and darkness of Mirage (minus mirage-era tusk at the US festival w/ Christine!).

Regardless of era and hair length, he could all smiley and adorable and boyish, or he could be all serious and dark and his features would be showing their chiseled look, he could still be hot (and I'm pretty sure that was a run-on setence ). Of course, this all depends on what you, ladies, prefer. I personally like both, even though the Mirage show hat was hilariously small

so, to sum up mirage era look: cute hair - not the sharpest dresser;)

I've never, ever found Lindsey attractive... but I'd have to say his Tusk look was best.

I think that first pic is OOTC from what I've been told before, but I still can't get over the fact that his shirt is totally buttoned up.

And I'm not gonna lie, I'm digging that second pic a lot.

Aaaaaand an update: Tusk is in the lead with 7 votes :woohoo:

I think that first pic is sometime between '79-'83. It's kind of hard to tell.

For anyone who needs to see it, here's a pic from Tango.

http://i54.tinypic.com/5l3nzd.jpg

My fave era is Go Insane. I think Mirage and OOTC tie for second place! Tango and SYW tie for third place!
