It's on CM's 1984 concert video. That and LWSUH, and a full concert, with guest appearance by Mick. I only recently got it on DVD, about a month ago, but my DVD burner has crapped out on me. When I finally get a new burner, I'll try to get the DVD into circulation.
BUT, VHS copies are available on eBay, last time I checked.

Not back in Mac, but for Christine McVie fans, 'Love Will Show Us How'

At my recent haircut, my barber told me how excited he was to get to see Fleetwood Mac in concert next week. One person he will not be able to see is Christine McVie.

In 1998, McVie decided she had enough of touring and retired from the music business. In 1984, she ventured outside of Fleetwood Mac and hit the Top 10 with Got a Hold On Me and No. 30 with Love Will Show Us How.

The video for Love Will Show Us How features McVie being a good sport in a video gone wrong directed by '80s B-Movie veteran Paul Bartel.

I do remember that funny video. Always wanted to know whose idea was that. It doesn't look very Christine.

Well it was VERY awkward, and I've often wondered if that was the idea, just to draw attention to her...that the video was so unusual?

And yet in an interview around that time, Stevie says that the video was so typical Christine. I forget who she was talking to but, when asked about Christine, she says something like, "Oh, I like her a lot, and I like her music. She's so funny. You know that new video she has with the dancing girls? I laughed when I saw that because it's so her."

I'll look for the interview. I saw it once on youtube.

Okay, I found the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3cSKjm4U-c

Stevie talks about Christine and the LWSUH video around 8:40.

It was a burning guitar she mentions, not dancing girls.

jbrownsjr 04-25-2013 05:54 PM

I always loved this video. I thought is was her way of making fun of the scene at the time.

Exactly. I think she was being her usual droll self.

I totally agree with you! She's so adorable in LWSUH, and her laugh at the end of the video..omg, I could listen to her beautiful laugh for hours! Too bad it's impossible to find a HQ version on Youtube :(
@HomerMcvie: well, the video was Chris' idea! :D

PS: Stevie cracks me up when in that interview she talks about Chris and says "Forever makes me laugh!"

I'm at the 7th chapter of Ken's book, and I have read Mick's book several times. I don't remember they mentioned Chris was very funny. Actually Ken describes her a bit serious.

Well I suppose nobody was funny during the Rumours sessions. They always mention turmoil and fights when they remember Rumours.

I don't think anyone has to say Chris is funny. If you listen to her talk long enough you can figure that out pretty swiftly. Her sense of humor is wry and often comes at someone's expense, but she's extremely funny.

I read both books as well as Carol Anne's and I think she is hilarious.

Hi guys! :)
Well, Chris can be a very hilarious person, but being a Cancerian woman her mood can change very quickly and when she's upset I'm sure it's better if you keep yourself at a good distance! :D That's what I learnt in my 3 years relationship with a Cancer girl...but when they are in the mood, believe me if I say that they are the most beautiful, sunny, positive and intelligent people to be found anywhere on Earth  If you are a Cancer, you know you are a special person!
Unluckily, I've never been able to discover her rising sign anywhere (is calculated by knowing the exact time of birth), but according to Wikipedia, "to astrologers it signifies the individual environment and conditioning that a person receives during their upbringing, and also the circumstances of their childhood (...) The ascendant is also concerned with how a person has learned to present him or herself to the world, especially in public and in impersonal situations. (...) In some circumstances, it can function as a shield or mask to guard a person's real nature - in other words the 'defense mechanism' every person has to cope with unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations. Astrologers believe the ascendant also has a strong bearing on a person's physical appearance and overall health.". If anyone know Chris' time of birth, I'd like to calculate her rising sign with the help of my ex gf, which is the one who really know almost everything about this "stuff", so we can finally have a complete overview of her personality (since I don't entirely trust what Mick, Lindsey, Carol Anne or anyone else say about my Chris behaviour...:sorry: )

Back on topic.....:p Talking about the video of LWSUH, does anyone know if it's possible to find the color pic of Chris you can see at second 0:34 of the video (full version)? Because, if you look closely, you can notice that it's different from the other pics taken for the 1984 album photo session by photographer Sam Emerson. Here she has a white v-neck shirt, while in the photo session she has a high-necked shirt with a ribbon tie. Even the jacket looks different to me (or maybe it's just a brooch she added to it). Thanks for your help! :o

Not sure if this helps, but I would peg her as an ISTJ personality type. I'm no expert on Meyers-Briggs, but it seems to fit what has been written about her and her interviews:

http://www.personalitypage.com/ISTJ.html

Overlay her zodiac sign of Cancer and I think that's pretty close...

Chris_Lover 05-04-2013 11:29 AM

That's her. That's my Chris, Ejb. And I'm glad to read that we have a lot in common (Taurus and Cancer get along well and have the same interests). Thanks! :)

So maybe she was talking about herself:

Your mood is like a circus wheel,
You're changing all the time....
