Acoustic Versions

First of all, I wasn't sure where to post this. But I decided on Lindsey to keep the area active lolz.

Anyhoo...I was wondering if anybody had acoustic versions of Lindsey/Stevie/Fleetwood Mac songs they were happy to share? I adore acoustic songs but I'm struggling to really find many Mac related versions. My iPod is sad because of this.

Jeremiah the iPod: *Sniffle*

Edit: I'm not looking for live versions unless audience "noise" is minimal. Can't enjoy a good acoustic songs when the fans are screaming so much that I have to turn my iPod right down to save my hearing lol.

MissLadyLoki 10-06-2010 08:49 AM

Lemme guess: you started this topic based on my comment, like how I started that poll on appearance based on what Sahara said? No worries, I think I got some stuff.

This one here is Go Insane, but probably the first time he ever performed it live on tour. It sounds different, but I like it.

I'll probably think of more later.

Most of these are live, but they actually sound pretty good! They're all Lindsey, except for Gypsy, which is the one from AHI 2000. I figure a lot of Ledgies may already have it, but, hey, it's a good one! Also, Jeremiah ( that's your ipod's name??? ) will like this copy 'cause I gave it some artwork to show up when you flip through the album covers

Anyways, Here's what I have:

Gypsy from AHI 2000:

Bleed to Love Her ( Solo acoustic - Milwaukee 2006 ):

Castaway Dreams ( acoustic ):

Down on Rodeo ( Solo acoustic - Milwaukee 2006 ):

Flying Down Juniper ( acoustic ):

Shut Us Down ( Solo acoustic - live on Ellen 2007 ):
http://www.mediafire.com/file/jwd0jp...stic%20%29.mp3

I may have some other songs from radio shows ( not sure if they're mp3 though ). I'll try to get to them in the next few days...

LOL. I've always named my vehicles, and I'd probably name my guitar - if I had one, but I never would have thought to name my iPod...still, I think it's cool that you did

OMG, I just googled Mortaquia, and your post was the first result!!! It was right beneath "Did you mean: Mortágua":laugh:

Well it did seem silly to yell at my iPod/Laptop (Vincent after Vincent Price) for going wrong without putting a name to it. And did Lindsey ever name his guitar? I'm sure I read that he did. Following a good example of naming random things if he does the same lol.

Oh and by the way, I already decided on a favourite of all these downloads. She Smiled Sweetly is just lovely!

Thanks Cammie, but those were Silver Springs' words :D ( though I couldn't agree more!! ).

Are there any Demos/Acoustic releases from Lindsey's Go Insane album/era? I would love to hear some of them.

StephenC 10-15-2010 07:15 AM

It's sad that Fleetwood Mac never did an MTV Unplugged recording.

Yeah, that would have been cool. It was my understanding that The Dance was supposed to be just that, originally, and that that's how the acoutsic version of SYLM came about.

Yeah that would've been seriously awesome. They could've done the piano version of Rhiannon from the US Festival and retool tons of other songs too.

Silver Springs 10-16-2010 09:02 AM

I suppose in a way they do performed unplugged versions of their songs, just not in the same show. Would be nice if they grouped a few of the standards (ie. Landslide, I'm So Afraid and Go Insane) with a few fresh and acoustic takes on others, such as Silver Springs, The Chain, Say You Love Me and Tusk for example would be incredible to hear.

holidayroad 10-16-2010 12:05 PM

I think 'Crystal' would be a great acoustic-LB and SN both singing and both playing guitar!

Silver Springs 11-17-2010 07:52 AM

I don't suppose anybody has any pre-Fleetwood Mac? Ie: Fritz and Buckingham Nicks (Other than the songs featured on the album).
Also, other Lindsey Live or Acoustic Demos other than these would be appreciated (I have the following):
  • Hold Me (Lindsey Lead) (25 Years: The Mirage Sessions)
  • Bleed To Love Her (Milwaukee 2006)
  • Castaway Dreams (Acoustic)
  • Down On Rodeo (Live Acoustic)
  • Big Yellow Taxi
  • Flying Down Juniper (Acoustic)
  • Shut Us Down (Live On Ellen 2007)
  • This Nearly Is Mine/Street Of Dreams (ABCs In Concert 1993)
  • Never Going Back Again (In Concert)
  • Holiday Road (WBCN FM 1993)
  • Save Me A Place (WBCN FM 1993)
  • She Smiled Sweetly
  • Blue Turns To Grey (GoS Demos)
  • Play In The Rain (Continuous)

Sorry for the list but it's better than you having to troll through the thread to see what I have from this thread as well as from other sources.

If you have the files on your computer you can upload them to mediafire.com and post the provided links here :) It's a very simple interface.

If you go to Lindsey's section on Throwndown.net, I have most of what's there. If it shows green on the meter, I probably have it. So, if you see something specific that interests you, let me know, and I can put it on mediafire. A lot of it is in .flac, so I'll have to convert it first ( unless you prefer .flac ), but that's no problem.

I'll try to post a few things here in the meantime though. :)

Linkeh

I hope I havn't picked on a dead torrent or something. I never actually browsed torrents before. Anyhoo, these interested me from the link above:

* 1.02 Wrong (Edit)
* 1.07 Sorcerer (If it's just Lindsey but then again I may have misread the page entirely)
* 1.10 Bwana (Saturday Night Live, 06 February 1982)
* 1.17 Louie Louie (WLLZ Ultimate Sports Bar, Pontiac, MI 06 July 1992)
* 1.23 Silver Springs (Atlantic City, NJ, 29 November 1997) (Same as Sorcerer)

I'd have a whack at downloading myself (I don't have a clue how) , but I'd probably find a way of crashing and wiping my computer. I'm almost completely inept when it comes to technology.

I have those! Louie Louie is pretty rough, but if you're as quirky as you say you are ( and why wouldn't you be - lol? ) you'll like it! :D

Give me a day or two to convert and upload them ( I'm leaving for a meeting in a short while here... ).

Torrents are pretty cool, but they do take up a lot of PC space, and yeah, crashes aren't good :distress:

Hehe. I was going to say that quirky people are the best people, but it sounded frightfully egotistical lol. But I do adore quirky music. Personality is one of the biggest things in music to me. I can't wait to hear it.

Nice one. That's fine. Take all the time you need :) It's not for me to be pushy when you're doing me a favour. I'm just chuffed that you would :D

Gah! That would be no good for me. My iTunes is chock a block, and then I have my Sims 3 games installed that take up a poopy ton of memory in themselves.

OK, I didn't do Sorcerer, as per your request ( it's not just Lindsey ). I did put up Silver Springs, because even if it's not just Lindsey, he finishes the song for Stevie, so it's a must listen!

I'd like to hear that on-air performance of "Never Going Back Again" from Rockline on KLOS again. That was totally in the pocket.

Silver Springs 11-20-2010 01:46 PM

Really Really REALLY random thought here. But I've been listening to Fairytale Of New York by The Pogues. Would anybody else absolutely ADORE Lindsey and Stevie to do a cover of the song? The bitterness, the veiled love...it makes so much sense. I would gladly go find Lindsey now and yell at him until he called Stevie and started working on a cover rofl. I just want to hear it so badly :P
