What is the ONE song you'd pick?

I’m sure this has been asked before, but hey, let’s go again.

What’s the ONE song (something she’s never done live or hardly ever these days) you would give your right arm, or sell your first born to hear Stevie perform on stage?

My pick: ‘Nightbird’ (with Sandy Stewart as a surprise guest playing piano).

KarmaContestant 09-20-2010 11:35 AM

Imperial Hotel. Just 'cause. I'd want her to have a couple - no, a few - shots of Patron first.

Artemis 09-20-2010 11:39 AM

Sable on Blond, a true album gem.

olive 09-20-2010 11:53 AM

Battle Of The Dragons

tilthefirefades 09-20-2010 12:30 PM

Sable on Blonde

Kayli 09-20-2010 12:40 PM

"Crystal", for sure. Singing it the way she sings it on the Practical Magic soundtrack.

Dodfather 09-20-2010 12:48 PM

Think About It! No question. If we're talking FM material then it would have to be That's Alright.

Ooohhh! Good call!

I'm so glad to see there's finally another fan of that version of Crystal .

I like Anferny's idea of Sable On Blonde, too.

And olive's idea of Battle Of The Dragon.

I think more than anything, I'd love to hear Sisters Of The Moon again, though. I know her voice is different, I know it wouldn't have the fire, but I still think she could own it live. I wouldn't even care if she did a stripped down version like the original piano demo. I'd just like to hear this one live.

vivfox 09-20-2010 01:57 PM

Imperial Hotel
If I Were You
Sister Honey
Love is Like A River

I know you said one. How about one of these?

I hear the call of the nightbird. I have to go along with you on Nightbird as a strong possiblity, although I am not risking any bodily parts.

Consider Lori's 3 wishes: on the Nicks Fix Q&A with Lori Nicks, Lori mentions she would (1) love to rejoin Stevie on the road if there was an opportunity, and for Stevie to sing (2) Beauty & The Beast and (3) Nightbird again.

1-Lori is back on the road
2- Stevie pulled out Beauty & The Beast

3-Can Nightbird be far away? I think NOT!

Hey now, I've always loved the practical magic version of Crystal! The one song I'd kill to hear is If You Ever Did Believe

wheart 09-20-2010 02:38 PM

Nightbird. Just thinking about her doing this song makes me smile. Lori, of course, would need to walk over to Stevie's mic to sing the chorus, ala SNL. It would be heaven!! And if she could dig out Storms and do it justice, I think there's definitely a chance of hearing Nightbird live!!

How I love that song!! The absolute only reason I didn't include it on my list is because I doubt she has the firepower to pull it off properly. But if she could get all bratty like she does for Fall From Grace, this one could be really awesome live!!

rockhopper 09-20-2010 05:28 PM

Sisters (brother, sister.. of the..of the.. moooonoooooooo.............xjsfjhrbnggffnghhrzqbhvn!!!!!!!!!!.

Stevie needs to open with it and blow everyone away with a screamin Waddy wail and allow word to get out she's doin' it and not dropping it and her tour gross will go up ! She has the firepower still. I believe, if she wants, she can still pull out any song out of her vast catalogue and do it justice as she does for the workhorses. It's all up to mama !!

chiliD 09-20-2010 05:38 PM

Jeez, there ISN'T a song of hers that I'd give that much up to hear...

...but, hearing a 1975-ish rendition of "Rhiannon" again would be nice.

...or, "Smile At You" (with McVie on bass, of course)

nailatixela 09-20-2010 05:58 PM

If I had to pick just one I'd have to pick a RAL like rendition of Lady From The Mountain, since it's my favorite song ever. I'm thinking of a deep, dark, passionate version.

I think you're right... she has the ability, she just keeps herself more chaste on stage these days. Stevie really came out swinging for the Street Angel Tour, and for the most part, her voice hasn't changed that much since. She could let loose on stage more, I think she just choses not to.

mlourimore 09-20-2010 06:13 PM

While I like the idea of Sable on Blond my choice would be Nothing Ever Changes.

Amlyn 09-20-2010 07:36 PM

Solo: Sable on Blond
w/FM: Everybody Finds Out

jannieC 09-20-2010 08:38 PM

Angel, complete with flapper dancing.

Hawkeye 09-20-2010 08:42 PM

Solo: Nightbird

FM: Sisters of the Moon

Nightbird should be such a no brainer for Stevie to do. It would fit perfectly as the songs right before Edge of 17. I love How Still My Love, it was always a song I said I needed to see Stevie do live before I die. But I've seen it twice now and its forever captured on Soundstage. Ditch HSML next tour and put Nightbird in that slot. Both songs have White Winged Dove and Nightbirds in them. It would be great to hear them back to back. And then you'd have each of her longtime back up singers spotlighted in songs back to back. Lori in Nightbird and then Sharon in Edge.

true, I guess even my choices wouldn't be worth any limbs or children. I think I'd rather keep all that and just let Stevie sing what she wants and be perfectly happy. But lets say I'd pay 200 bucks a ticket for my choices to be played

SapphireSister 09-21-2010 12:27 AM

Bella Donna - acoustic.

gldstwmn 09-21-2010 02:38 AM

Long Way To Go!

greendaze5 09-21-2010 08:11 AM

Breaking the rule here about only one song choice, besides 'Nightbird' as previously mentioned, I'd also LOVE to hear 'Illume' done live!

My favorite of Stevie's more 'recent' (using the word very loosely) songs.

Aussie W/Heart 09-21-2010 09:26 AM

I'm wondering if Blue Lamp was ever performed live, I'm guessing not but would love to hear her sing it live. Or Sister Honey, Bella Donna..
F/Mac a toss up between Sisters of the moon & Smile at you !!!

seanthompson 09-21-2010 09:43 AM

I hope this "qualifies" as one song...I would love for her to perform a 'Sable On Blond / Nightbird' combo...like when she opens with 'Outside The Rain' and goes straight into 'Dreams'. :]

sherhiannon 09-21-2010 10:12 AM

I adore that version of Crystal, I walked down the aisle at my wedding to it and it was so beautiful ~ I'd love to see her do it live!

Yes, only during her very short first solo tour in 1981. (Likewise with "Bella Donna")

cliffdweller 09-21-2010 12:13 PM

Violet and Blue...in full rock out mode.

daniellaaarisen 09-21-2010 01:07 PM

Six months ago, I would've said "Love Is" but..... :blob2: :blob1: :blob2: :blob1: :blob2: :blob1: :blob2: :blob1:

I agree with Jannie on flapper-dancing "Angel." Runners up: "Sable On Blond," "Frozen Love" (if performed with FM/Lindsey), "Trouble In Shangri-La".

GoldDustOrphan 09-21-2010 02:48 PM

This is an easy one: Nightbird, even though Violet & Blue replacing the boring Fall From Grace would be a gift from Jesus.

If she's with FM: Sisters of the Moon. I wouldn't give her the daunting task of re-creating the ferocity of those Mirage tour performances, but she could easily handle a voice & piano version like the original demo.

w/o a doubt..."Wild Heart"....from the first note to the last..i have LOVED this song everytime i hear it..as if it were the first...i would say probably one of her best songs ever!!! and yes...would give my right arm to hear this live....BUT...NEVER gonna happen so..here's to my right arm staying with....peace all

starshine 09-21-2010 07:22 PM

Some of my choices (even though some have been mentioned as well):....Battle Of The Dragon...love love this song/Long Way To Go...should've been performed on Mirror tour..../Nightbird again would be nice or SOB/WH would be really cool but like the last person said not gonna happen......I love Blue Lamp or Bella Donna/from RAL....how about The Nightmare vocal version/extended.....or One More Big Time R & R Star....thats still one of my favorite b-side songs that should've been on RAL.....another Mirror one Real Tears.....from SA how about Street Angel.....I never minded the title cut (or of course Blue Denim).....Love Is Like A River wouldn't be too bad either.....from Shangri-la....I'd say TISL title cut....well thats all I can think of right now......:D:shrug: I've probably forgotten something.....its easy to do.....:D

LiquidDiamonds 09-21-2010 08:34 PM

Hello...I am new. I just want to hear the phony pony sung live once. :blob2:

It's titled Bella Donna and it was performed on the 1981 Tour.

Yes, I know the title. It was just a suggestion...Stand Back and relax.

Mmonta4 09-21-2010 11:42 PM

solo:
Blue Lamp
Wild Heart
Long Way to Go
Imperial Hotel

FM:
Freedom
Sisters of the Moon
Straight Back

DestinyRules 09-24-2010 10:28 PM

Solo: "Nothing Ever Changes" live in full pissed off rocker mode.

Fleetwood Mac: "Freedom" live ESPECIALLY if she glares at Lindsey during the line "look at me with daggers it won't do you any good..."
