Okay Ledgies time to vote for your Favorite Lindsey song from Rumours. :wavey:

"Go Your Own Way", "Never Going Back Again," Second Hand News" are your choices.

This was such a hard decision. But I plummed for Second Hand News because I'm always partial to the underdog (Compare it to Go Your Own Way in success terms and it is) and I do love the song anyway. It's one of the most played songs on my iPod :P

I went for Second hand news because i loved it from the first time i heard it aged 13 (didn't know the story behind the song then though) but now i feel sorry for Never going back again because it's really really grown on me over the years although i prefer every live version to the album one. Go your own way i can take it or leave it now to be honest.

Oh I adore all three up there. I've always gravitated towards Lindsey songs, even from the very beginning. I think with NGBA, it just kind of gets dismissed as a "record filler" of sorts. Eg, the small snippets of musical filler in Lindsey's Out Of The Cradle album. But it does have its charm in a certain kind of way. If you work the "playlist" just right it makes a really excellent lead up to other songs.

Very very very hard choice. I love all of them. I went with............Go Your Own Way. Just based on that ending solo:nod: There ya go.

I thought I was going crazy when I heard a bootleg from '75 with GYOW on! :shocked:

Yeah, Lindsey introduced the song as "this is the first time we've played this song in public..." (yeah, right) "...we haven't titled it yet, so maybe you can help us out in naming the song".

Like "Go Your Own Way" doesn't just jump out of the song and into the Title?? What the hell's wrong with you, Lindsey? You STONED or something? What WERE you gonna call it, "Packing Up"???

I also went with "Go Your Own Way". It's just.....the perfect rock 'n roll song. And just knowing the story of its birth adds to the greatness.

I pretty much used the same excuse to describe his Go Insane hair :lol:, but that's for a different time.

Anyways, I cast my vote to the first Mac song I ever head, Go Your Own Way! :thumbsup:

GYOW is just tired and worn out as Stevie's... :eek:

So I have to go with Second Hand News. Maybe it has something to do with the tall grass... :D

Interestingly or maybe not so much as he and Stevie hadn't broken up yet, the packing up (or cracking up), shacking up bit wasn't in there yet. He just repeats the first verse.

Shacking Up would have been a funny name though, because you know it would have annoyed Stevie even more. :laugh:

Absolutely going with NGBA. The first time I heard it, back in 2003 or 2004 I guess, I ABSOLUTELY loved it- and at the time it was my favorite song on Rumours, and it might still be actually!!! It was just so different than anything that I had heard up until that time! :nod:

I voted for 'Go Your Own Way'. It is an excellent song on the album. It has everything a song needs. Still, (pleading to Lindsey!) either change it or don't sing it anymore live!!! It is hard to listen to without wanting to cringe. :sorry:

I went for SHN, too. I just think it's really honest in every way, and I never get tired of it.

GYOW would be my second, although I agree it's rough as hell live nowadays; NGBA is a track I used to skip a lot - not entirely sure why?:confused:

I love Second Hand News. It's a tune that clearly isolates what Buckingham Nicks had brought to the table of Fleetwood Mac. You get to see the beginnings of LB's attempts at scat singing, which really worked for this piece. You get Christine playin a chair which shows her weirdness starting. I think she does the clapping in IDWK as well.

I wished it would be a tad longer, maybe a 30 sec bridge of some sort.. but it's a great way to kick off the album.
