Love Is -- up close and personal
The very beginning of this is missing, but I thought maybe some of you would like to see her expressiveness during this song.
I also have Rock and Roll up close that I will upload tomorrow. I apologize in advance for the funky photography....what can I say? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHz1zsq8rBs |
Ugh, I will seriously donate a kidney for a video of Stevie this good from the Santa Barbara show. Great video though :) It's interesting to compare her performance here to the one at Santa Barbara.
Maybe I'm biased, although I'm only saying that as a disclaimer really :).... but I really think that Stevie's performance in Santa Barbara was even more intense. I think it was partially because the event was for the little girl, partially because it was the first show of the tour, and partially because the audience was extremely into the performance. That last theory is especially fun for me because, as I've said before, I really think she was looking down at me occasionally during that song, especially since I was a bawling train wreck and kinda hard to miss. At the end of "Love Is" at Santa Barbara, she made a statement about getting emotional. She said that she was on the verge of tears and that the song always got her emotional. It was magical. |
Yeah, it was Tahoe. My first upload so it took me a bit to get the titles on and all that. lol

Its the little things like the hand movements: at the SB show the " one tear fell to the the floor" at this show her hand followed the tear all the way down!! Way cool! |
Absolutely beautiful!! Thanks for posting!!!

Justdreamin, would it be possible for you to adjust/edit the video settings on your youtube to allow for mobile viewing?

"Also, the three...the child, the beginning, the creative...I am making a new record..."
WTF is she talking about? |
Quote:
IMO below is what I suppose she was after 1) child: the beginning 2) creative: the new record 3) ? |

To edit video settings, while logged in, go to your video and you should find an edit button. Once on the editing page, you will see the label 'syndication' open that up and allow for mobile viewing. Should my written instruction fail to get across the location, take that look around, I have confidence you will find. Thanks again! |

She's talking about how Love Is is the third in her series of ballads, and how the fact that it is the third is significant right now based on the astrological meaning of the number three. The number three signifies the beginning of something new, a child, etc, and what could be a better new beginning than a new album? This was the perfect time for the third ballad to surface.
Disclaimer: I don't believe in astrological bull****. I just speak Stevie. |
This is all making perfect sense now...

I know someone else got mad about this statement , in another thread, but, I have to say it...
Stevie looks thinner! She looks freaking amazing, actually. I saw the newest pic Dave Stewart posted on Twitter, in black and white, and showed it to my Mom. Her first words: "I haven't seen Stevie's face that thin in a while." Whatever she's doing, she looks beautiful. Of course, I love her no matter what, but she looks great!! |
I have to agree. I saw FM in tacoma, the night she wasn't feeling well, and not only did she have more energy, seemed much happier, but she is slimmer as well, if I had to guess I would say it's most noticeable at her waist line. More defined. I was standing in about the same place at both concerts, so I don't think it was lighting or anything.
Also I fixed those videos, BTFLCHLD, thanks for the tips! |
very nice...glad she's doing this song now. thanks for posting :)

When I am at a concert and someone is singing a slow, quiet song, I listen and enjoy. I do not scream, "I love you...", "Sing for me..", etc...,during the performance. I wait until the song is over and I applaud, holler, and fist pump. ISN'T THAT WEIRD?!

IMO That kind of behavior is an intrusion to both the artist and the listening ear of the audience. Oooooo the horror of listening to the captures of B&B We request and long for these songs and then someone comes in with a wailing 'OMG STEVIE...MARRYME!' I imagine if we were privy to Stevie's thought bubble it would read STFU  |

I'm so glad and relieved to know that there are other weird people like me on this thing.

Loud, obnoxious, rude people
At Tahoe there was a loud, obnoxious drunk standing or should I say dancing next to me. I was at the stage just to the right of Stevie. The drunk girl was very short so she couldn't see Stevie (the stage was very high). IMO she should have stepped back a little so she could see Stevie, but no. Instead she danced all around in her high heels and stepped on my foot at least 4 times. I almost decked her. It was all I could do to keep my cool. She also screamed at Stevie at the top of her lungs - ruining quite a few moments for me.
I just don't understand getting that drunk at a concert -- even if you aren't a big fan! I mean there is no way this girl remembered anything the next day. |

If they still don't get it, then I'll tell give the "Ssssshh" index finger up to my mouth. If they still don't get it, I'll firmly tell them I paid to hear Stevie sing, not them screaming at her. |

When my friend, Diana and I went to Vegas in 05' to see the "Dreams" show, there were 4 obnoxious people sitting two rows behind us. We were stunned when Stevie ended with B&TB, as up until those shows, it had been a long time since she performed it live.
Diana knows that B&TB is a very special song for me. When the song started, these 4 people behind us (obviously not Stevie fans, probably just thought they'd see a show while in Vegas) were yap yap yapping away. About a minute in, Diana stands up, turns around to face them and shouts, "Shut the f**k up!" Dead silence. Diana sits back down. A couple in front of us turned around, looked at Diana and mouthed the words, "thank you". The rest of the song we enjoyed in silence. |
