I am going to rant again....you all call yourselves true fans of Stevie. Yet, all I see on here is criticizing, putting her down, always "knit picking" and what she does. Well, shame on you all for that. She is a gift...and every song, every show, every word she gives us is a gift. It is her presence and being that should inspire us, whether she stands up on stage dressed as barney singing twinkle little star.....we'd kind scratch our heads and wonder what she is thinking...but for "HER" it would be important. Who really cares how high her platforms are and what the wardrobe changes are and what songs she covers? She could do a cover album, and I'd totally buy it. I'm a freakin pirate on the internet, Stevie and Mac are the only things I actually go to the store and buy.It is that important to me. You shallow people should be ashamed of yourselves and go look into the mirror. Stop being so critical of Stevie. She is at a place in her career that she can do whatever she wants....and ya know what? THAT IS COOL! And **** all yall that don't appreciate it. Embrace her, love her.....that's all I'm saying. Love me, hate me, I don't care....just stop being so negative.....that is so not stevie-ness.....:blob1:

We are all entitled to our opinions about Stevie, including failings, things she should have done differently, etc. Not everyone thinks she walks on water and not everyone thinks her **** doesn't stink.

You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to squelch opinions of her that aren't singing her praises for everything she does.

I didn't say her **** don't stink....she makes mistakes like anyone else.... and that is my point.... everyone tries to make her out to be this perfect person...and then she does something someone doesn't like and OMG the wall falls....... I am just tired of people trying to make her something she is not. I don't know how long you were a lurker before just joining the Ledge in April and this thread being only your 18th post, but perhaps this isn't the best way to try to fit in as a noobie, with guns a-blazin'. You have to realize that a lot of us here are "getting older too" and have been fortunate to have seen Stevie solo and with FM numerous times. We've seen all the outfits, heard the same arrangement of "Dreams" forever and watched the Mirage SOTM 1000 times (okay, maybe that's just me). But what I'm trying to say is, we LOVE Stevie and just because someone says they'd like to see her wear red more often or put _____________ in her set list doesn't mean we love her any less.

I totally agree...i will talk some **** about Stevie! but if she didnt give me so many reasons to i wouldnt! lol ...but i never stop loving everything about her! and no, shes not perfect...because if she was, her setlist would include Sable On Blonde, Doing The Best I Can, SOTM, Seven Wonders, ICW, She Loves Him Still, Battle Of the Dragon...you get the point right? :)

I totally understand what you are saying...and I'm not trying to come in cocked and loaded......I'm really not. I just feel like alot of people are very demanding of stevie and just "balls out"....I mean,I'd love to see her break out some rosebud rhiannon or even, do her crazy 80's stand back.....and hell, even to see her break out the ROF red outfit...who wouldn't? But at the same time I just fell that what she does do is so undermined and it breaks my heart. People have to realize she is older....and I'm 36, I've seen stevie and mac numerous times......and I am just so knocked out every performance..... was it every song I wanted to hear? or ever outfit I'd like to see? Absolutely not....but I feel honored to have experienced each one.... I guess I just wish everyone would feel that way. Do I have high expectations? Sure...but I don't condemn Stevie or Mac when it isn't met....instead I praise it. I don't revolve my world around her or "worship" her...... I just feel though there's not alot of respect around here....................perhaps I am wrong for expressing my feelings........ and if I am i shall bow out gracefully.......

I'm not trying to get anyone's legwarmers in a bunch....I just get tired of all the critical negative ****....no band or performer is perfect....but there is something about Stevie....she is just magick and melody and a fine wine.....it is not that I hate seeing people's opinions....it is just a shame I see more negative than positive....perhaps it is my old hippie soul at heart that cries out.......everyone has an opinion...and every opinion is valid...... what's funny to me is that so many people who complain about "negativity" are not really anti-negativity. they are just anti-negativity in certain situations.

the people i see criticizing stevie are not calling any other posters names for liking stevie or saying "f*ck you guys" for liking her. but you see that sort of thing coming from people who allegedly hate negativity. what's up with that? :lol:

Do your research... Zepplin was always criticized for having poor concert peformances, especially by their fans. I'm not as acquainted with the other acts you listed, but I know Zepplin always had a real problem translating their fiery album performances to stage.

For what it's worth, the Ledge has always been a 'call it like you see it' kind of message board. Whereas other Stevie/Mac message boards will burn you at the stake for critiquing Stevie/Fleetwood Mac, we all treasure a good debate around here. We discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly. Because let's face it, not everything these people do or say drips with faerie dust. I actually think we're better fans around here because of it: we hold Stevie and Fleetwood Mac to a high standard, and deservedly so. They've all given us some fantastic music and concert performances over the decades. With so many iconic songs, we all get a bit peeved when Stevie does cover songs, for instance. We're fans, if ANYONE has the right to critique this band and it's solo artists, it's us. We're truly informed, know the history inside and out, and know what these people are capable of, and when they're not living up to their potential.

If this kind of environment doesn't suit you, there are more message boards than not in the Fleetwood Mac/Stevie community that are solely "positive only." God knows, if this place raises your blood pressure, we'd hate for you to give yourself a stroke! :p I personally suggest you stick around. Add in your positive two cents, but leave your comments about board members being "buttheads" at the door. We may critique the band around here, have differing opinions, but we respect one another first and foremost... I suggest you do the same. :xoxo:

Since when are people talking about bad shows? Stevie has had her share of bad shows. Coked out and drunk and flubbing every other line. Yet us ledgies usually cream our pants over those shows. There is a difference between saying OMG STEVIE SUCKS AT SINGING and "I wish she would have done SOTM instead of Rock and Roll". We all really do love Stevie or we wouldn't be spending our time on this board just waiting to hear what the next song in her setlist is or seeing what Dave Stewarts new tweet is. That being said, we voice our opinion, and if we feel Stevie should change something up, we have the right to talk about it. This is a discussion board, what is the point if we are all just going to say OMG I <3 STEVIE!? We need different points of view and disagreement and there is nothing wrong with pointing out where Stevie is failing to utilize her full self. That being said, I know Stevie Nicks doesn't owe us a goddamn thing. And if I went to see her in concert, I'd be in awe the whole time no matter what she sang. And I'd sure as hell never tell her she didn't give me what I wanted. Stevie Nicks saved my life and she is one of the most utterly amazing people to ever grace this earth. However we aren't hating on her or insulting her, we are simply having a conversation amongst other Stevie lovers. Sometimes negativity and pessimism does creep up, but honestly, there are a lot of positive and amazing things posted on here. This is my go to site for all Stevie related news, and I get more and more excited and fall more in love with Stevie almost every day. However, if you fail to see the positive posts and contributions and choose to only see negativity, then why waste your time? If this site isn't benefiting you at all, then leave.

He's really a piece of work. I met him on the Enchanted tour back in 1998 and he creeped me out way back then! Someone who, if my info is correct, has been 86ed for life from any Stevie related show, and rightfully so!

Hate to break it to you, my little Chiquita banana, but no one on this site is here because they hate Stevie or want to be mean to her. We're all here because we love Fleetwood Mac or at least one of its members. We're ALL fans - you included. Some of us are fans that think Stevie can do no wrong and ****s rainbows and travels about on a unicorn with a horn made out of pure liquid sunshine, and some of us are fans that are perfectly capable of disliking something she's done or not being entirely pleased with something she's done while still remaining a big fan. And we're still all fans, and we still all belong. There's room for everyone.

So that's why I ask if you even go here - anyone that has spent even a short amount of time on the Ledge can see that we're all fans, whether we agree all the time or we don't. And you know what? We really don't agree all the time. Sometimes we do argue. Sometimes we do disagree.

What we don't do, though, is start a whole new thread to use 900 ellipses in one paragraph and bawww like nobody's business just because someone else doesn't agree with us. Here are some (probably) fictional examples of what I mean here.

Wrong:

Me: "YOUR FACE IS DUMB."

Well, I mean, you can do that, if you want, but it won't matter to anyone but you, and all you'll accomplish in the end is putting up a wall between the f*ck-ton of awesome Stevie and Mac fans you will find here on the Ledge.
