Rock a Little Survivor

Wild Heart Sudden Death gave us a close race (almost the exact same results as with Bella Donna v. Outside the Rain), but Wild Heart is the winner over Nightbird! Will Rock a Little continue the supreme reign of the title tracks? Probably not, but anything can happen.

To refresh everyone's minds about the directions, each day you are allowed to deduct a point and add a point, and those songs should be marked with - and +.

I'll admit that I'm a bad fan, and I haven't listened to the whole album. But this has inspired me to do it, so I will be back with my own vote at a later time!

Erm, you're only allowed to deduct one point from one song and add one point to one song once a day. I would've put up an example, but I didn't want to vote before I got the chance to hear everything on the album.

For instance, if you want to give your positive point to I Can't Wait, it would look like:

I Can't Wait (4)+

And if you want to use your negative point to take away from I Sing for the Things, it would look like:

I Sing for the Things (2)-

Let's start back at the beginning:

Oh no, it's another one of those algebra or geometry polls, there's a difference, right? Takes me back to last winter. No voting options on the main page? So, I'll just vote for 'I Can't Wait' - add it whenever you want or don't want. Or maybe I voted already? This is a bumped up thread, nyet? Confusion reigns yet again. Comforting and familiar.

I've finally listened to the album in full, and I was misled about the quality of Rock a Little. I enjoyed it very much! In fact, I don't think there was a song that I hated.

However, I much prefer the more rocking demo versions of I Sing for the Things and The Nightmare, and seeing as how one is gone, I shall subtract from the other! I love If I Were You and think it would have been a good choice for a signal. What were they thinking releasing HAEWAFY?

Where are all my RAL (song) fans? This to me truly is the hidden gem of the album in my opinion. It stands out amongst the other songs. It's melodic tone, sex appeal, lyrics, and raspy vocals. Not to mention it has a very R&B feel to it which is atypical of Stevie. And, who remembers our infamous discussion on the true meaning of "Pale...pink...satin...worn out in a week" ;). If you do not like this song or have never given it a chance, please do so on my behalf. You'll thank me afterwords.

Edit: This song was inspired by Stevie's house at the time that would "rock a little" and she'd get scared.

I couldn't agree more. On the song at least. No comment on the pale, pink satin.

Rock a Little is one of Stevie's sexiest songs. It's also the least poppy and most rocking song on the album, in a very smooth, creeping kind of way. I wasn't fond of the raspy, almost baby-like voice at first, but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it. Definitely give it another listen if you haven't in a while.

I love this song too - and Imperial Hotel; together, they are my favorite tracks on RAL.

Best part of IH - when she speaks the lines "She sits across the table...the same glass table", I melt.

Right here. :wavey: I really love it! Not my absolute top favorite on the album but it is close!

Ahhh how I luuurve Rock A Little. One of those albums I'm just always in the mood for :) having a bit of trouble picking a song to deduct a point from..! oh well..
