You're in Hell. What's playing?
Supertramp
99.5 The Mountain (it's a classic rock station) plays something from Breakfast in America daily. I used to like the group, but not anymore. |
awesome thread.

i do have a soft spot for green day, as it reminds me of my flannel-wearing days as a feisty fifth grader. they had an album named dookie, how could i not love them? |
Lets Hear It For The Boy, from Footloose. I hated that song in 1984 and I hate it now.

Taylor Swift *shudders*

"Zoot Suit Riot." This song will get lodged in my head and then I can't get rid of it. Whenever that happens, I always contemplate shoving something sharp into my ear, but then I worry if I die from it and there actually is a Hell, that song will be the soundtrack to my eternity, so I sit on my hands and wait for it to go away.
Alternatively, anything from Disturbed or Korn. It burns. |

Cocomo (sp?) by the Beach boys.

106.1 BLI. It's a Long Island pop station that, if a song is popular, they will play it once every hour. I kid you not. Hell, I used to like Ke$ha till they started Love is My Drug so much that I wanted to personally punch her.
EDIT: Here's whee you can listen to it live and feel the torture :p http://streaming.wbli.com/_players/c...allsign=WBLIFM |
Great thread!
For me it would be a continuous loop of the 3 worst songs ever: Mull of Kintyre - Paul McCartney and Wings (Scottish people do NOT spend all day in kilts wandering around fields of heather - for f... sake!!) Lady In Red - Chris De Burgh (I can only imagine that the "red" in quesation is the blood poruing from her poor assailed ears as this "song" is played to the poor, unfortunate woman!) If You're Not The One - Daniel Bedingfield ("why does your heart return my call, why does you name resound in my head..." because those awful lyrics and your hideous screechy voice have tortured the poor girl!) (dis)-honourable mentions to: Ebony and Ivory - Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney (why, Stevie, why?!) Phil Collins - entire solo output other than In The Air Tonight Daphne and Celeste - Ooh, Stick You (what. the. f*&!) Billie - Because We Want To (Billie, you are hot, you've had the good fortune to become a pretty good actress and have at least admitted that this song is a disgrace so you're almost let off with it...but not quite!) |

And here, I thought, I was the only one in hell....it's nice to know you people are on the same floor in rooms next to mine.
Did anyone see Celine on Oprah a few months back? I didn't but I caught the clips on TALK SOUP... I don't think I could spend 20 minutes talking to her. |
I think no music would be playing in my hell. Even if I hate it - I'll learn to love any music if I have to listen to it for the rest of eternity.

The godawful 'Stand on the Rock' from BTM.

And my response is....just about anyone who got their start on the Disney Channel. I don't want to see them on tv, hear them on the radio, have them shoved on the cover of every magazine, etc. Ugh. Although, I do enjoy some Timberlake and I'll even admit to liking a Britney song or two...but that's it!!! |

"Wonderful Christmas Time" by Paul McCartney on neverending repeat.
Everytime I hear that song it makes me want to hurt somebody. |
Whoever posted 'Ebony and Ivory'-- thank you so much. It brings back such horrid memories for me, what crap. I believe the hugeness of it on radio essentially killed future airplay for both McCartney and Wonder, though that may be incorrect. Let's just say it deserved to!
Oh, I have a few more songs that would be my personal Hell- 'you are the sun, you are the rain, blah blah, blah blah' by Lionel Richie. I'd never felt so disillusioned about pop music in my young life. Is radio insane? Is the American public that stupid? My, how that song offended me! Then, Richie had 'Dancing On The Ceiling' and I think that pretty much did him in, people started to get how truly awful his artistry had become. To go way back to the 70's, 'once, twice, three times a lady' -- what the hell is that? Sounds like a diagnosis from a gynecologist, or a potential theme song for a weight loss clinic. Nice melody and some good backup harmonies by The Commodores, but that chorus, were they 'scratch lyrics' he just decided not to finish? |
I just had this conversation over a campfire last night with some friends.
I said: "My personal version of hell is being locked in a small room with Bjork playing non-stop, and spiders crawling all over the place." Bjork makes me seriously want to stab a pencil through my neck over and over until I fall down dead. Any song - doesn't matter - her speaking voice alone drives me to fits. |
The Beatles :sorry:.

New Kids On the Block Joe Jackson: Stepping Out (I like his other songs, but something about that song makes me feel panicky!) Starland Vocal Band: Afternoon Delight (that song gets on my last nerve) Almost any country music! |
