Rock Stars Then and Now

Stevie is mentioned and pictured.

RockAlot 07-20-2010 05:27 PM

Damm, that one of Mick Jagger is......scary!!

SapphireSister 07-20-2010 05:42 PM

That was a lovely slide show, thanks for posting. Obviously Stevie has aged the best (not that I'm biased or anything). It also reminds me of how much I'm enjoying it while I still look relatively young. That was just so entertaining to see! It's so sad how the majority are men and that things have not changed much in the last 30 years as men continue to dominate rock and roll.

RoseGarden 07-20-2010 05:46 PM

Thanks for posting!! Stevie looks fantastic! That was really interesting going through all those slides. I am so glad the Mac got off the drugs and look healthy and so good for their age.

sorcerer999 07-20-2010 05:59 PM

YIKES for Grace Slick and Linda Ronstadt!!!

Our girl looks great though. They could've picked a better 'young' pic. Joan Jett has aged quite nicely as well.

louielouie2000 07-20-2010 06:02 PM

Especially after looking at those rather frightening pictures of her peers, I now have more reassurance than ever that Stevie's been under the knife. Probably not just once, either. She's likely had very small operations done over the course of a long time as to not be noticeable. Whatever the case, she's still gorgeous for any age.

jrpjr 07-20-2010 06:12 PM

really never compared pics side by side...ya..she looks pretty good...as do a few on this slide show...bowie...benatar...harry...but PLEEEEASE dont tell me stevie never had plastic surgery..COME ON!! look at the nose..the lips and the cheek bones..she got the beginnings of a joan rivers face...hope she has no more

SapphireSister 07-20-2010 06:15 PM

I feel a plastic surgery debate coming on for a change. Gloves out everyone!

All the people you've mentioned have also had plastic surgery within the past decade. There's no doubt in my mind Stevie is amongst those ranks, too.

:] As much as I would like to say "oh no, not my Stevie" I need to agree she has had to have a snip here and there!

Heartboy 07-20-2010 07:05 PM

The Queens of Rock...Stevie & Ann/Nancy Wilson have aged well & still Rockin' us!!:wavey::)

Other than a nose job and some dental work, I tend to think she has had everything done except for invasive surgery and Botox. I am sure she gets peels, fillers, injections, etc. And surely she must use those topical products that give you a temporary lift. But there is no smoking gun or a particular photo or video that you can point to and say, A-HA! Does she look different from 30 years ago? Of course. We're all going to look different in 30 years. And, yes, she does carry around a few extra kilos now, which also gives her face a different, fuller appearance.

The scariest change of them all? Steve Perry! Yikes! He doesn't look like Steve Perry anymore; rather, he looks like someone who ate Steve Perry.

May I go on record as saying "one" of them has aged well?

vivfox 07-20-2010 09:56 PM

C.C. DeVille looks like a scary monster. I was most suprised at how good Pat Benatar looks. Of all the people shown I think Pat has aged the best.

DashingDan 07-20-2010 09:59 PM

The bummer part of it is that they didn't choose a good representative picture of either era (the now shot is better than than the then shot, but they're both sort of odd photos).

actually I enjoyed seeing current pictures of both these ladies...at least we don't need to discuss whether either has been under the knife...they are "natural woman"...

Grace's picture reminds of the following quote:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Go, Grace, Go!!

I agree. I've seen Pat Benatar in interviews lately and thought she looked great. She appears as if she's always maintained a stable head on her shoulders. Who cares if Stevie had some work done - at least she did it with sense and restraint. Unless you were you were a beautiful famous female rock star who is now in your sixties, who are you to judge?

Nathan 07-20-2010 10:59 PM

Ann Wilson is an artist.

I enjoyed it too, when I stumbled on it. Glad you liked. It seems like it sort of clears up any 'hang-ups' one might have with Ann's weight. Makes it a non-issue, you know?

That's because girlfriend has had a pretty big facelift! Regardless, she looks great!

And by the way, I'm not judging ANYONE for getting plastic surgery. If it makes the person happy, and it turns out well, more power to ya! :D

You sure can & that's your opinion but atleast the Wilson sisters haven't gone under the knife.

& if Stevie has, it wasn't much. These ladies are naturally beautiful. :)

She did try botox during SYW.... it wasn't a good look for her.

Hun, you'll get nowhere arguing with him, trust me. I know where you're coming from.

I made a post in Nicks McNuggets about it.

Who cares if they've had surgery? I sure as hell don't as long as they're happy. Having a facelift doesn't make anyone less deserving of recognition or their "Rock royalty."

Heartboy 07-21-2010 08:51 AM

What do you mean ButterCookie?

I'm just saying I don't think Ann & Nancy have had stuff done. (In the face area) anyways.

I'm not sure about Stevie.

I'm not arguing, just saying my opinion just like everyone else.

Seriously, Joan Jett looks almost exactly the same 'now' as she did in her 'then' pic! I love Grace Slick, but if I had seen the 'now' pic without the 'then', I would have never known it was her!

I was talking to iamnotafraid ;)

You might just be stating your opinion but 99% of the time that opinion comes off as argumentative and the over use of "" doesn't help that. Coming in here as a newbie telling Ledgie's who've been here a helluva lot longer than yourself is, IMO, silly. Not to mention downright rude and really not the right way to go about getting people to like you within your first week of verification.

Mybe that's just how I feel though.

You're right & I'm sorry if I come across that way. You did tell me though that this place can be harsh. I guess I was putting up a front already. Thanks for reminding me. :)

MissLadyLoki 07-21-2010 11:01 AM

OK, Alice Cooper and Patti Smith scared me. And what's which David Lee Roth's sideburns? All aside, Pat Benatar looks great for her age and Tommy Lee looks way better without all that makeup.

siledrmr 07-21-2010 11:05 AM

Glad everyone enjoyed looking through all of them as much as I did. I was surprised when I hit Stevie's picture. That woman does look amazing for 62!

Go, Grace, Go!!

Grace Slick said-

"all rock ‘n’ rollers over the age of 50 look stupid and should retire."

and this

"First of all, I don’t owe anyone anything, except my credit card. There are so many jokes about those over fifty who are flapping their skins. Keith Richards is different, he’s always looked like that, it’s the front people that have the problem. God bless her, Stevie Nicks, still doing it. I’m thinking, “Oh, Christ.” That doesn’t mean you need to get out of the music business. There are appropriate things that you do depending on the stages of your life. If your twenty-three years old, and go back to grammar school and play jacks with ten-year-olds, they’re going to think you are a freak! I see trying to jumping around and acting like a twenty year old, when you’re sixty as being sad."

Nikayla 07-21-2010 03:38 PM

Stevie (and Ann & Nancy) look inEFFINGcredible. Glad to see so many of my favourites were included. Thank you for posting :)

I don't know about that, it could also be an excuse for not taking care of yourself.

Meh, you've said nothing untoward and you have nothing to apologize for. "You cannot let them think for a minute that you couldn't totally take them down." I say state your opinion any way you please and if someone gets their panties in a wad over it they can go kick rocks.

ButterCookie 07-21-2010 04:23 PM

I'll kick more than rocks, chick.

FYI: Heartboy and I do know eachother outside The Ledge :)
