Stevie Just Posted a Hand-written Letter to Us on Nicksfix!

I wanted to post this before I start analyzing...

First thought: And then God said "Let There Be Stevie!" lol.

LikeAWillow 07-19-2010 06:38 PM

I love her so much, it's not even funny. I love the way she puts "Twitter" in quotes. I love the way she says she doesn't facebook.

AND I LOVE THAT SHE CONFIRMED THERE'S GOING TO BE NEW MUSIC.

RockALittle250 07-19-2010 06:38 PM

WOW...I honestly haven't even read it yet, but it's great that her official website is finally getting with the program!!

Dodfather 07-19-2010 06:40 PM

YES!!! This is the news I have been waiting for - something that has actually come from Stevie about working with Dave Stewart. Until I heard it from her I was taking everything with a pinch of salt. I'm still not holding my breath for a guess on when the music will be released (she can take her time, as we know!) but this gives me a lot of confidence that we will in fact see a new album sometime "soon" - whatever soon means...

ButterCookie 07-19-2010 06:41 PM

And I don't TWEET

Times like these I really do love her.

That was my favorite bit too.

Hehe I knew you had a bit of chiffon in you.

LikeAWillow 07-19-2010 06:53 PM

Is it just me, or is she starting to understand the fan community a little better? She gets that we "know she doesn't have a computer," that we would know the twitter page wasn't hers, that without an announcement, we already know about the new music and that, and this is my favorite, Karen is just Karen to us, not Karen Johnston.

Hurrrhurr, there's a whole load somewhere around here. Comes out once in a while.

Musicman408 07-19-2010 07:20 PM

This is all the more reason I adore this woman! She's so cute! The part when she mentions that we were smart enough and figured it out- makes me wonder if she ever hears about our discussions here on the Ledge!! :)

Anywho, great to see this from her- Today none the less!!

Love You Stevie!!!

Amlyn 07-19-2010 07:23 PM

Can i just say how much I love the fact that she actually hand wrote a note to us? So much more personal than a 10 word tweet. Not that I want Dave to stop tweeting us on their status. I just hope she gets inspired to reach out to us more!!

And who else wants her notepad?!?!?

thatgirlwasme 07-19-2010 07:30 PM

Me! Me! I want that stationary--especially if it has a note from Stevie on it!

A

nailatixela 07-19-2010 07:40 PM

Yay! That letter got me so excited...I love handwriten Stevie notes. Seeing her stationary before reading her letter is like seeing her decordated mic stand before she comes out to sing! And she's so adorable...and when I read the part about the music....I got chills and had a *gasp*... I'm so excited and happy with this all.

Hartbreakkid 07-19-2010 07:51 PM

Has anyone sent this drama to Perez Hilton yet? Be cool to have him do another Stevie post

Artemis 07-19-2010 07:52 PM

Aw, that's too cute. It's sorta nice to have something from Stevie that she's working on new music, too.

It would be even more cool if Perez Hilton never did another post period.

gypsy4life 07-19-2010 07:56 PM

This just proves how effin' EPIC Stevie is. I just love this woman!!

PenguinHead 07-19-2010 08:03 PM

I've seen that stationary before. I guess it's her personal customized letterhead, and has been for a long time. I love the fact that she actually wrote a letter -- so old school and traditional...and so charming.

By all accounts (Dave's) work on the album was expediant, especially by Stevie's standards. I was concerned that when he left the work in Stevie's hands that she might noodle around with it for another year -- bringing in a slue of producers and such. But from her letter it seems that she's happy with the work and will be putting out the album sooner than later.

Stevie's muse is always predicated on the connection she has with her producers. I'm grateful that her and Dave had a meeting of the minds...and he was able to snap Stevie into a sense of urgency. I bet the music will benefit from it. :)

RockAlot 07-19-2010 08:14 PM

How kewl is this? Thank you Stevie, for making things right in the world!

There is a new album, there is a new album :blob2: she said so, kindda sortta :xoxo:

IKV Nexis 07-19-2010 09:44 PM

 Word! I can't stand him! He's so far up Lady Ga Ga's ass he could be wearing her for a hat. Even though he sings Stevie's praises now, I can easily see him flipping the script and talking bad about her in a heart beat.

As far as the note, I did laugh out loud when she wrote "I do not 'TWEET'".

It may become more now that it is realized that it is still better to hear it Straight from the source.

I thought somebody posted somewhere that Dave is back in LA working with Stevie again? I can't imagine he finished his album work in Nashville in a matter of a few days, but whatever. At least we've finally heard from the horse's mouth that new music is indeed in the pipeline! :D

iamnotafraid 07-20-2010 12:34 AM

Yes, it's true that I may have some of Stevie's stationary (don't ask how).
But contrary to many pm's I've been getting, I did not, I repeat - I did
not send that letter to JK
. So please no more pm's on the subject. I
wouldn't do that to the NicksFix.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if you were the one pretending to be Karen!

DavidMn 07-20-2010 01:01 AM

I'm starting to wonder if perhaps some or at least one new song may be performed at next months shows?:)

Absolutely -- I think she's upset that she's being impersonated, but also that her fans aren't getting the right information. She's really engaging with the online community on this one. I think that's really exciting -- not to mention considerate

Agreed

And the best bit ... Stevie said we were smart ... :o

skuncles 07-20-2010 08:26 AM

Is this the first letter you guys have seen from Stevie at the 'Fix? She was posting new ones there for awhile and then kind of stopped. As for the stationary, many fans have that as well. That's not such a big deal if you happen to have it. Back in the heavy fan trading days it was quite normal for fans to write back and forth to each other on that stationary.
For those that haven't seen them, unless they've been removed, search around at the 'Fix and you'll find Stevie's previous letters.
As for the content of the letter, as she said we all know she doesn't have or use a computer. Stevie's is very old school in that regard. I've said it before, Stevie still very much lives in the '70's.

priestofnothing 07-20-2010 08:39 AM

The stationery was discussed in another thread recently:

Stevie still uses the stationery. I think I saw her give a letter to Jimmy Fallon on his show recently written on that stationery. I think I have one of the old Nouveau Gypsy catalogs somewhere in one of my boxes of Stevie junk.

*Edit* - Sanne - That Soldier's Poem you posted in 7W was on a piece of that Nouveau Gypsy stationery.

My mom just tweeted me that she admires Stevie's handwriting and wonders if she went to Catholic school as a child? Anyone know?

I don't think she ever went to Catholic school, but Stevie is of an age where you were taught penmanship in school. I don't think it's been taught in school in the last 20 years or so, or if it is it's not as strict as it once was. Many people of that generation have nice writing. Stevie's got her own very distinct style though.

wheart 07-20-2010 10:36 AM

That stationery of hers is precious...and totally Stevie. Who else who write notes with an illustration of her on them? I love it! And that top hat and tambourine is just adorable. It's the Stevie Nicks brand all the way.!!

i have mentioned before stevie & my mother are just a couple months difference in age~ i agree w/ you on this, about the penmanship & the way she writes her letters pretty much how we are taught from a young age~ my mother writes exactly like stevie does, except for the capital cursive N~

the stationary is precious~ i remember receiving a few sheets of it in a trade many moons ago, & i just copied those, so i could have more~ that same trader also sent me a few post its, w/ stevie stuff on them, one of the pics on the post its was a Johanna Pieterman shot~
