Woman posed as a boy to be with teen girl

LEBANON, Ohio — Police say an Ohio woman pretended to be a 14-year-old boy so she could have a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

Authorities say 31-year-old Patricia Dye of Franklin used the alias Matt Abrams as the girl's boyfriend, and that the girl did not know Dye was a woman.

Dye was arrested June 30, and Springboro police Sgt. Bob Marchiny (mar-SHEE'-nee) says she admitted the deception. Her lawyer, William Robert Kaufman, says she has not entered a plea but is assumed not guilty.

Dye is charged with unlawful sexual conduct with and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A Warren County judge sent the case to a grand jury Tuesday.

Dye is being held in the Butler County jail on $100,000 bond.

That's not how you sneak onto a lifeboat when the Titanic's sinking, lady.

Yar, is called .gif. I got a million of 'em. I usually snag them from other communities I frequent. Anything Nathan Fillion related, such as the above, is immediately saved, because I heart him.

Of course, my trusty Chris Hansen .gif would've been perfect for this post, but I use him too much, so I thought a little variety was in order.

Why, yes, I do have a lot of time on my hands - why do you ask? ;)

I LOVE THAT. And I stole it. Bwah ha ha!

And before I completely derail the thread - if they are accusing this boylady ("ladyboy" clearly does not fit in this case) of sexual misconduct of some sort, I have to wonder - the story keeps saying the girl didn't know the boy was also a girl...so they couldn't have got all that far...? I'm so confused!

Annie, the ladyboy could have done a lot with her hands and mouth to the young girl without asking for any reciprocation.

;)

This just all squicks me out. Now I feel like I need to screen all my kids' potential dates when they are old enough to date, to make sure that boy isn't actually a middle-aged woman, because NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

JWS 07-12-2010 09:04 PM

This is a new twist. A woman posing as a teen age boy.:( Do parents have to now personally authenticate the gender of prospective "dates". When the date arrives..."OK..step into this room and "show me the goods". Just ridiculous!

Love the clip of Christine and Stevie, slapping the table- it's from the YouTube clip of when they were trying without much luck to finish a 'Happy Anniversary Warner Brothers Records' filmed message, and they were both so drunk. Christine: "Warner Brothers, I represent".....
It was about the third take, each one a little sloppier than the one before, and Stevie's reaction to 'I represent' is priceless. (Chris, with a buzz, did an early take before the clip in this thread that was very eloquent and should have been used!)
So funny, it's nice to see reminders that Christine and Stevie were pretty darned close, good friends to each other and had good times. Wouldn't it be great if Christine showed up as a special guest on the new Stevie album? Could get the ball rolling, much like the 'Twister' soundtrack pretty much lead to the possibility of 'The Dance'-- That's forgotten, but it was really a huge deal after LB quit the band that he went back to work with Stevie, producing 'Twisted' on that soundtrack and having the track credited to 'Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham'-- when neither of them, at the time, were in Fleetwood Mac at all. Don't forget that Stevie done quit, years after LB done quit. IF SN&LB hadn't mended fences enough to work on 'Twisted', the reunion for 'The Dance' may never have happened! ('Done quit' is a favorite misuse of language of mine, sorry).
Oh, and as for this thread topic-- it gives ammo for people to think that lesbians and homosexual men are often pedophiles, which, statistically, isn't true.
It's horrible for any child to be sexually exploited by any adult, but the fact is that most child sex crimes are committed by sick, hetero men against underage girls. Italics used to emphasize that heterosexual men who are decent, lawabiding, good men, have nothing to do with the lowlife hetero men who sexually abuse children. Of course.
Most, or all, good heterosexual men would be outraged to hear a grown man had intent to sexually abuse a child, just as most gays would feel disgust at a homosexual man sexually abusing or exploiting a boy.
The 'with her hands and mouth' comment you made had a huge 'ick factor' to me, because it's regarding a child who may have been raped by an 31 year old adult, or that the intent was there.
The thread, Viv, though a true and very sad story, is a slap in the face to the majority of non child-molesting lesbians and gays, because it reinforces a negative and untrue stereotype that gay people are likelier than straight people to sexually abuse a child.
It seems to be a true story, so the woman you mention of course should be prosecuted for statutory rape just as any child molester, heterosexual or homosexual, or transgender or transgender impersonator, should be. And some people, in their responses, seem to find it funny, even. Ick.
On a lighter note, here is the full 7 minute clip of Christine and Stevie, which I love, for those unfamiliar with it. Some might say I shouldn't find amusement in 2 great women being a little tipsy, but no-one got hurt. It's way funny.

Several years ago I had an inpatient client who faked her identity online for over a year. She was a teenage girl who pretended to be a teenage boy to have an online relationship with another teenage girl. I remember thinking at the time how easy it is to be whatever you want to be- behind the relative safety of a computer screen. This story, on the other hand, is scary because this woman had a "real life" relationship with this child. How far was she expecting this to go? I don't work with perpetrators so I can't even begin to speculate on the craziness of her thoughts (and wouldn't want to!). Definite yuck all around on this one.

This story is crazy because I used to live just 20 minutes from where this happened. I know Springboro well.

I agree. A woman posing as a teen boy is just wrong and sick at all levels.
