GO GERMANY!! World Cup 2010
 

So being a first generation German-American in my family, we are following Germany's performance in the World Cup with definite interest. After they destroyed Argentina and their loud-mouthed overrated coach Diego Maradona, I believe now the German team will win their first World Cup since 1990 and 4th overall. Spain is next up for the German team, making I believe their first ever semi-final appearance in WC play. THe Netherlands plays Uruguay in the other semi-final match. Should be interesting!

I don't care if it's the World Cup, Euros, or a meaningless friendly, I always root for Germany to lose. Hopefully Spain or the Netherlands kick their ass.

NETHERLANDS all the way. No connection to the country or the team, but, uh, I kinda want them to win.:cool:

YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!! I'm all with ya, David :D :D. Spain's gonna be an easy thing after we beat England & Argentina into DA GROUND! The Spanishs played such a lame game against Paraguay last night...phhhh.
But, yes, when I think about it, I like the Netherlands team. They're so funny with the orange shirts and the funny names... Then again, I'm always up for the party whoever wins. In fact I just came home from partying all night and day :woohoo:.

I know! If Paraguay had had ANY offense at all, they could have taken them. I'm torn, though. My heart's rooting for Germany...but Spain means a much bigger party :laugh: I guess I'll find out who I want to take it all on Wednesday.

I'm for Germany, 'cause if they win, Serbia will officially be the only team who beat them, and that's way too cool :cool:

Yes, definitely rooting for Germany in this one- I am a quarter German!

I think it's gonna be Germany v Netherlands with hopefully Germany winning, but I'd like Spain to win (maybe cause I was there for a month in May/June)!

And you only won because you were given a goal that obviously was none.
Now come and say this time you weren't given a goal that obviously was one but who knows if things had been different if this goal had counted...We still scored 2 more goals.

and in the end it's still just a game isn't it?

What bothers me about the Germany/England match is that Capello could have had a much better squad. Leaving off the likes of Joe Hart, Adam Johnson, Peter Crouch, and Michael Dawson was a huge mistake. We were left with a bunch of overpaid prima donnas that looked like they couldn't care less. They don't deserve to wear the Three Lions.

If Germany were the last team on the planet, and the future of football would lie in their hands...I'd still spit on them.

The Netherlands for the win, obviously. ;)

The Dutch have always managed to produce some of my all-time favorite players. I would love to see them finally win the World Cup.

I´m sorry, Spain had their moment in the sun two years ago... I believe it´s our turn now. But yeah, I´d rather lose to Spain than to Germany. :)

Oh, Spain is definitely my second choice by quite a long way. Since England is a constant disappointment, the Netherlands is my team in major tournaments. I can't stand the thought of Germany winning, ever. At this point I would go for North Korea over them.

What's so bad about Germany winning that it's better than North Korea winning?

I'd like to see Germany or the Netherlands win. I know you guys have a big rivalry between each other (the way England thinks they have with Germany:rolleyes: ) but I'd be happy to see either of those teams win.

Having said that, I have little-to-no interest in football so I guess I don't really care. :p

I'll watch but the games are continually ruined by those mind numbing vuvuzelas. They have even spread to the US and were seen/heard at an Angels game.

Well, Spain has defeated the Germans 1-0 and will face the Netherlands in the final. Although as a German I'm not happy with the result, I congratulate Spain on making their first WC final ever. The title match will be between 2 teams that have never won the big prize, so in that sense I will probably watch the championship match.

Final score: Spain 1, Germany 0

Spain has been so listless this whole tournament. Gotta say Netherlands takes it, 2-1.
