*POSSIBLE* Stevie Sighting in Murrieta, CA
Okay...
My sister lives in Murrieta, CA, which is about an hour north of San Diego. Every year they have this "Murrieta Birthday Bash" at this park and they have a band play and fireworks conclude the evening. Last year, they had a Journey cover band, which I went to. About 15 minutes ago, my sister called me from the birthday bash saying Stevie Nicks showed up and did 2 songs with this band, "The Answer to Classic Rock". She said they introduced her as a "total surprise". She sent me audio from her phone that was just the end of a song and someone on the microphone saying "Thank you, STEVIE NICKS!" She also said Stevie said that she did this because one of the band members was a very good friend of her's. Also mentioned was that Stevie was "on her way to L.A." (That's the part that doesn't make sense to me, because Stevie LIVES in L.A., as you all know, UNLESS she was driving back from AZ) ??????? I'm posting this to see if anyone here knows or heard about it. I'm still not sure, but my sister would never lie to me. (This is also the first time in about 5 years that I HAVEN'T gone to the stupid Murrieta Birthday Bash!) I wasn't able to find anything else online about it, nor connections between Stevie and the band members of "The Answer to Classic Rock". I hope to get more details from my sister after the "bash" has concluded. ~Jamie |
OKAY I FEEL SO DUMB NOW!!!!
I just called the band's booking number - It was an IMPERSONATOR! It evidently was the chick from "Bella Donna". I'm sorry that I even posted the thread. I'm gonna go kick my sister's ass now. ~jamie |
Its cool, as if Stevie has never shown up somewhere before unannounced and sang a few tunes with a band over the past 40 years. Just because it has not been posted on the Ledge before, does not mean it did not happen
My friend was hanging out at a dive Nashville bar around 1995/1996. I believe it was Rick Vito, or maybe Billy that was playing with some band they had at the time. Stevie was in town and came to the bar to hang out with them and did a few songs on stage at the last minute. For any Nashville folks on the Ledge: Not sure of the name of the bar, but it was next to the old bowling alley in the Melrose area off of Franklin Road. Part of the shopping center next to the old Cinema. This was the area that was next to the late gay bars in Nashville Warehouse & The Chute |
Cool stories all!!

Okay-
I just found an article about this this morning, and it says it WAS Stevie. But I'm thinking the person that wrote the article was fooled too. There is a photo- it looks like it COULD be her.... what do you all think?? The dress looks "off" to me. There is more pictures in the article that change like a slide show. If you watch you will see several "Stevie" shots, and after careful review it appears to me that it is an impersonator. http://www.swrnn.com/southwest-river...-19th-birthday  ~ Jamie |
Sorry, but that's not her--based on the photo and the caption that describes the singer as a "tribute artist."

It says right in the article "true to life Stevie Nicks tribute artist."
Ah if I had a nickel for everytime I went to shows thinking she might come (the real Stevie) or have gotten a call telling me that the thing I opted NOT to go to, Stevie shows up. Don't kick yourself (or your sisters butt) too hard. Atleast she was thinking about ya. |
def. not Stevie...Stevie is in LA right now recording with Mick Fleetwood

Stevie "sighting" Murietta
Hi Fellow Ledgies!
This is me, Michelle Tyler from Bella Donna-- I did the show with my good friends, The Answer last night in Murietta...I know at the end of the song, the lead singer mentioned my real name and that I was a tribute artist. the crowd was so big and quite a distance from the stage, so I am sure it was either not clear or not obvious to them that I was performing as a tribute to Stevie!! Sorry about the confusion! Not only did people not get their "star" moment, but also, obviously Bella Donna did not get the credit either!!! xoxo Michelle www.belladonna-music.com |

First, very cool of Michelle Tyler to introduce herself here. She wears the whole Stevie mystique like a perfectly fitted lace glove.
Second, TanyaTampa777, your memory is good, Stevie did indeed make a surprise vist to the stage at a Rick Vito show in Nashville. (I read it on the myspace page of Danny Darling, who was Rick's drummer at the time -- he says she 'finished out the set' with them.) He says Billy B. and Bekka Bramlett also came up to the stage that night, which makes me wonder if Stevie and Bekka were actually singing together? Third, Quote:

Good, now that Mick's big mouth is involved in things, maybe we'll get some non-Dave Stewart information on what exactly is on tap.

Thanks Old Timer...nice to meet you too. I have it from a source that is close friends with Mick that he is working with Stevie on an album right now in LA. This is trusted information. Michelle |

Don't feel bad ;) A similar thing happened to me a few 4th of july's ago.
My cell phone rang off the hook telling me that Stevie was here in good 'ol Bubank (home of Jay Leno and Ellen shows) playing at our local summer amphitheater shows. I remember thinking...uh uh...no way. Some friends of mine were there and swore it was her. They even got a pic afterwards. THe next day I look at this pic to see that it was indeed, Bella Donna. I told them.....Come on guys....you can't tell the real Stevie from an impersonator??? LOL I look alot like Stevie Nicks...I get it all the time! |
I think Michelle Tyler is a great tribute artists I do not see her as a dead ringer for Stevie Nicks Michelle Tyler still has her own vocal style different from Stevie's I can not see where people would think she would be an exact dead ringer for Stevie to get confused. Michelle Tyler is an excellent Tribute To Stevie and Michelle has her own style vocally. It is cool to see a Stevie Tribute Artists at a Fireworks Festival wish I was there to see the show.

I totally agree!! Bella Donna is not the average tribute band....they become Stevie/The Mac!! I have seen them 5 or 6 times. They are amazing! I just don't think it's right to announce her as Stevie when she walks on stage
