What songs do you NOT want to hear in August?

Outside the Rain
Enchanted
Sorcerer
I Need to Know
Rock and Roll
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You
Stop Draggin My Heart Around
Landslide
Circle Dance

Anything else is fair game.........

Musicman408 06-24-2010 04:32 PM

Sorcerer
Dreams
Landslide
Crash (or any other cover)
GDW

Macfanforever 06-24-2010 04:32 PM

Cover songs as listed below.except .I Need to Know.

LikeAWillow 06-24-2010 04:50 PM

Rock and Roll
I Need to Know

As much as I complain about how I am of hearing Dreams, and as much as I truly HATE Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, they're both fantastic concert songs.

1sttimelongtime 06-24-2010 05:26 PM

I could definitely do without Dreams and Landslide.

RockAlot 06-24-2010 05:58 PM

I don't know, Landslide is pretty cool live as the whole venue pretty much sings along with her...

SapphireSister 06-24-2010 06:40 PM

I've been mulling this over and I just can't seem to come up with anything I absolutely don't want to hear Stevie Nicks singing to me...

MissLadyLoki 06-24-2010 06:47 PM

I'm not going, but Dreams. God, do I hate that song.

Macfanforever 06-24-2010 08:38 PM

On the reverse side I love to hear Stevie do a whole concert of covers that I like.those covers that she did were ok and she did an awesome job on them ,but I never got into the original artists version.I can handle any music from classical to country ,but not rap,hip hop, and noise{hardrock}.

vivfox 06-24-2010 09:36 PM

Don't sing Dreams. Please, oh God Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Replace it with Sable On Blond. It's got the same beat anyway.

Yep.

I don't think she's coming to red Rocks anyway this year - I haven't checked, but I skipped the last time she was in town.

I'd add Rhiannon to the list, but that is just wishful thinking.

nailatixela 06-24-2010 10:03 PM

If Anyone Falls
Enchanted (she didn't in 08 so I've got my hopes up)
Rock and Roll
Dreams (but I know she will)

Phoenix 06-24-2010 11:08 PM

No more Gold dust woman. Its been amazing on the dance and on soundstage, but its done. i never get how she says that "Sara" and "Gypsy" are "Fleetwood Mac signature sogs" but she does GDW ALL THE TIME, and it was from Rumours! You dont get much more "signature" than that. SISTERS OF THE MOON instead! Cmon Stevie! U can do it!

APerfectLie 06-24-2010 11:50 PM

Someone said Outside the Rain, really??? That is one song I will never get tired of. But I don't want her to do GDW or Rock and Roll or I Need To Know.

I so agree with that. Sable On Blond is like the musical sister to Dreams. Same vibe.

wheart 06-25-2010 10:36 AM

Well, to answer the question at hand, if I'm going to be totally honest I don't want to hear any of the songs she's been performing on her solo shows for the past 5 -10years. However, I need to be realistic. She will perform Dreams, GDW, Rhiannon, etc. I don't want to hear them but she will be performing them. I have a particular problem with present day live Rhiannon. If she's gonna do this song, she needs to seriously reinvent the performance. It's boring, stagnant, uninspired and dull...and has been for quite some time. My suggestion would be to revert back to the early FM arrangement, with a guitar solo in the middle. She could drift off to the side of the stage at the beginning of the solo and when the music slows, slink her back to the mic, being very dramatic with slow spins. Of course it won't be like 1977 but she could very easily recreate the style of those performances. Switch up the tired Rhiannon sleeves for a floor length sparkly cape and we're in business.

You mean she won't be wildly spinning around screaming "dream on silly dreamer" at the top of her lungs like a mad woman and throwing her head back like the exorcist? I'm shocked!

UCYOURGYPC 06-25-2010 01:48 PM

Rhiannon (how about Crystal, Angel, or Golden Braid)
Dreams (I agree w/ Sable On Blonde)
Need To Know (do Free Fallin)
Enchanted (repalce with Wild Heart as an opener, or After The Glitter Fades))
If Anyone Falls (replase w/ Nightbird)

Travis 06-25-2010 02:20 PM

I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why isn't this top choice????? DIE already I Need To Know - PLEASE

Thanks :D

nailatixela 06-25-2010 02:31 PM

She actually didn't do INTK in 2008. :)

I actually really like Outside the Rain. What got me frustrated was that in 2008 Stevie said in interviews that she shook up her set by adding fan favorites "OTR" and "HAEWAFY". That made me sick to my stomach. OTR is a great song, but shes done it forever.

Ive seen If Anyone Falls on a few lists here, I hope she never drops this. For some reason I never get tired of the live version. One of my favorites for sure.

SapphireSister 06-25-2010 04:17 PM

I have never been a fan of OTR. The only part about it I like is that fact that she's begun so many of her concerts with it over the years so it always brings that excitement to mind but other than that the song is blah to me. The transition to Dreams is pretty cool though.

True, but I think that tour was killer. She wore all different skirts and boots every night. That beautiful red shawl and all white outfit. Plus If Anyone Falls, Crash, and How Still were played every night. I LOVED her 2008 show. She played in Boston at the Pavillion and it was awesome.

Agreed

I don't want to hear Rock & Roll or I Need To Know.

Outside the Rain is amazing as an opener. It has an irrefutable energy, when it starts live.

Agreed 100%!! That's one element of her show I would never change. I personally HATED Stand Back as an opener. I hope she never makes that mistake again.

I didn't know she performed OTR for Soundstage. I'm still pissed BATB wasn't on there so now I have two songs to be bitter about.

I don't believe she did. OTR didn't come back til the 2008 dates.

That is correct.

Nikolaj 06-27-2010 11:09 AM

Enchanted
Sorcerer
I Need to Know
Rock and Roll
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You
Stop Draggin My Heart Around
Landslide
Circle Dance

Anything else is fair game.........[/QUOTE] wrote the thread-starter!

I agree with all of those, and even about OTR, though I have to admit that over the years, Outside The Rain seems to get her game - or her voice- or attitude, a little on fire, so I could stand it, but please just not the awful segue into 'Dreams'. 'Enchanted' drags now and needs to go, it's very 'old lady sounding' to me, and just clunks along, but it didn't back in 1983, when it rocked a little!
Please, just once in her entire career, save 'Dreams' as a pen-ultimate next to closer, or for an encore. It dreadful for me knowing it always has to be gotten out of the way so soon, and I think it's deadened any impact "Dreams" has when performed live, it's like she's sleepwalking through it. "Well here I go again, for 30 wah-hun years in ay row- 'Dreams' is 2 or 3 at ev-ery show".

I'd also love 'Rhiannon' to be left as a "signature Fleetwood Mac song" since I haven't heard a Rhiannon of any 'oh yes' quality since the 'Street Angel' tour, when she sang it really well. I don't believe it will get cut, and there's always a chance she'll work out a way to improve upon it.

louielouie2000 06-27-2010 11:33 AM

Not that I'll be going to see Stevie in Auguest, but Rhiannon needed to be retired about 30 years ago now.

Nikolaj 06-27-2010 11:45 AM

Oh, the ending of Rhiannon was great on Street Angel's 1994 tour, so better than what it has been for 13 years now, since The Dance.
'she rings like a bell through the night, and wouldn't you love, wouldn't you love, wouldn't you luh-huve to-who lovvve-her. (Crouching down to the stage with her arm and hand out-stretched as the stage went dark) It was so torchy, and the best ending to Rhiannon' she'd done since when she could really sing the f*ck out of it, up until about 1980 or 82.
It seems musically fitting to return to an early lyric in the song, draw it out for effect, which was wonderful, than to use the cloying 'don't leave me now' ending she favors now.
But I definitely could live without it, and the classical piano intro has worn out its welcome, for me.

Hawkeye 06-27-2010 02:48 PM

Enchanted!!!!!!!!!!
Crash
If Anyone Falls
Beauty and the Beast
Rock and Roll
Landslide

Also of course it'd be cool she ever decided to sit Dreams and Rhiannon on the bench but its just not realistic. Landslide is on my main list because it was never a solo standard never done on the TISL tour and not done on the first dozen Gold Dust Show. But who knows maybe its now a sacred song due to her father's death. Really the number one song I better not see on that set is Enchanted. Unlike Dreams and Rhiannon there's no excuse for its presence. Stick with the 2008 mentality Stevie and do OTR and not Enchanted. And I want my encores both Rock and Roll and BATB free.

I totally agree. The SA Rhiannons were awesome. I also remember some "Once in a million years a lady like her rises" endings during the Street Angel tours. They were pretty amazing as well. And yes, the piano intro has gotten very tired.

BTFLCHLD 06-28-2010 11:36 AM

......

discokandi7 06-28-2010 04:15 PM

I think the following should not be a part of her shows this time around:
( song in parenthisis is what I would Replace it with)
- Enchanted (angel)
- Sorcerer (Rooms on Fire)
- Fall From Grace (talk to me)
- Beauty & The Beast (Somebody Stand By Me)
- I Need To Know (Free Fallin..if there must be a Petty Cover)
- face the Promise (No Spoken Word)
- Circle Dance ( Rose Garden)
- Rock & Roll (I Cant Wait...yeah i know theres no shot in hell here)
- If Anyone Falls (seven wonders)
- Landslide (Everyday)
- Gold Dust Woman (Sisters of the Moon)
- Dreams (Sable on Blonde)

Songs to keep:
Stand Back ( but not as the opener...kick of the encore with it)
Edge of 17 ( final closer of the encore not the show proper)
Rhiannon (go back to at leas the street angel tour version)
Outside the Rain (as the show opener where it belongs)

SapphireSister 06-28-2010 04:23 PM

I would seriously start balling my eyes out and totally lose my **** if I ever saw her perform Rooms on Fire!
