Well according to her she is going to do Wild Heart, Kind of Woman, and Sable on Blond... Let's see if that is still true.

ditto! I hope that's not a perfect lie!

I'd subtract 'new songs' and replace it with Rock & Roll and maybe Circle Dance. And there's your set. Safe, easy, and can be done in one's sleep.

2009, Larry Flick Interview...

"The next time that I go out, myself, I am going to do a special part of my set where I actually bring the girls down and bring everyone down and do kind of an interactive thing and I'm going to pull out those songs. I'm gonna pull out Kind Of Woman That'll Haunt You and Wild Heart, Blond on... Sable on Blond, and some of those wild and crazy songs that have never been done because I want to! The creative side of me says 'This would be really fun for you to do these songs that you loved so much when you wrote them, but never had a chance to do' because people always want to hear the ones that were like the, the most familiar, the most hit-like even if they weren't singles. So now I'm going, 'so we've done that for what? FIFTY THOUSAND YEARS' so now, I am going to do that and I am going to start bringing those songs back because they deserve to be played!"

Thanks for finding that. I actually like that idea, bringing 'the girls' down and doing some vocal interaction. Sort of like that video from way back where she, Lori, and Sharon shared a mic on 'Leather and Lace' with some wonderful harmony. Some new and unexpected variations on that sort of theme.

Actually I'd just like to see something different from Stevie than what we've seen for the last decade, like the setlist, the wardrobe, even *gasp* the hairstyle. But then, I'd like to believe in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy too.

I say she does the Live In Chicago set list.

Ha, let's hope she can remember the title of Sable on Blond, let alone remember to put it into the set

Blond on...uh....Rhiannon? Yes, that was it.

Artemis 06-14-2010 02:48 PM

I'd die if she did Wild Heart and Sable On Blond... but does she have the vocal to do those songs justice now? D=

You would die? I think Stevie would have a myocardial infarction if she tried to sing WH on stage.

Artemis 06-14-2010 03:20 PM

Hahaha. Probably. Still, she could surprise us yet!

While I have to agree with you... I'd still love to see her try and pull this off

It's over six minutes long.

It has never been attempted live.

There are no guitar solos or instrumental breaks.

It has the highest belted high note of any Stevie recording.

Not gonna happen.

Nathan 06-14-2010 04:26 PM

What if they did the dressing room version of it though.

She did say Wild Heart is very complex right before breaking out into "Wild in the wildest places of your mind!" I am still doubtful she will do it, but I think with some tweaks she could pull it off.

I would love to hear the dressingroom version live.

Obviously it's not going to sound like the record from 1983. But a good song is a good song, and Stevie can sing anything. It's frustrating to me that people question such things. She will do the songs justice in the capacity and context of who she is now. Give her some credit for having the integrity to arrange and adjust it and make it good. It's not like we don't have examples of other songs that she sings as evidence of her ability to do that.

Wasn't the so called "dressing room version" just an impromtu sing-a-long to a early demo version of the song?

Musicman408 06-15-2010 06:46 AM

It would be fantastic if Stevie would spice up her set list and play some OTHER songs. As an artist, she definitely has that capacity- whether or not she's going to use that ability, we'll see. One can hope!!! :)
