Anyone doing anything cool this summer?
I've just been getting antsy waiting to leave for Jethro Tull tonight (promise I'll tell you how it was tomorrow) and I couldn't help but wonder if anyone is doing anything this summer.
Aside from tonight's concert, I'm not really doing anything, except hoping I get a job somewhere. How about you guys? |
Mediterranean cruise with my best friend  (only for a week), and then Serbia. I also have to find a flat, and prepare myself for university (not that cool).
|
In reality 4th of July with the family at the beach. In fantasy I'm in Rome, Italy right now on Tour.

If Stevie goes on tour, hopefully I'll be able to make it out to a date. A couple of weeks ago, my dad and I flew to Sanibel Island, Florida, which was FANTASTIC!!! Other than that, I'm spending some time at the pool, as well as working! |
I have a busy summer planned.
*I'm going to a local music festival June 19th - no big deal, but it will be fun. *Gay Pride in Denver! Woot. More than 275,000 people participated last year, and this year will be even bigger. I plan on meeting EnVogue, who will be performing on the main stage. *I'm traveling for 4th of July...to Kansas. *I have tickets to see Lady Gaga in Denver where I live. Only because my boyfriend is bat**** obsessed with her, but I'm sure it will be lots of fun. *August 31st I leave for Milan, travel by bus to Venice, then a cruise to Croatia, Greece, Turkey and back to Venice. *Seeing Margaret Cho in October! Got tickets for a meet-and-greet to benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation Tonight I'll be chilling with friends, beer and a fire. Tomorrow...gay strip club for my friend Sara's 30th birthday! |
I have plans in the later part of August to go on tour with a ole time blonde best friend of mine with the initials of SLN and I cant wait.Oh ok nothing planned at the moment, except for reorginizing my house before the trip.I still have boxes and equipment laying around to go through after a year of moving in.Will it looks like Stevie will be the highlight of the summer again ,this year.Hahaha I said yes, and horay.Hey louielouie2000 ,awesome photos. If Stevie was heading to the Sunshine state this year ,I was going to fly down to see her plus visit my aunt at the same time. She lives in Winterhaven.but I guess I have to wait.Ok I hope all of you have a nice safe summer.

We moved to the USA from London about 3 years ago and we go to Europe about once a year. I pack jeans, black trousers, shirts of varying weight/sleeve length, a light coat and something for evenings out (skirt of easy-travel black dress). On the plane I usually wear comfy shoes and clothes that won't get too wrinkled. We've become expert at travelling light from all the times we've had to lug bags on trains, etc. Check out the Rick Steves website for good info--a friend reco'd that to us and it's a helpful site. Make sure your camera batteries are fully charged--you'll take tons of shots at the cliffs. I've got some framed as 8x10 on my office walls-stunning images. |

I'm not one for soccer, but when I flipped on ABC yesterday, I saw the Brits and Americans were tied 1-1. Who won?
|
No one, we drew because we've got a **** keeper.

Luckily we are staying at a house for the entire duration and i'll have access to a washer and dryer. That should help with what I need to pack. I have almost everything I need, but i'm still scoping out a good waterproof windbreaker. I'm actually off to the mall shortly to see if i can snag one. I'm really looking forward to this and hope this is the first of many trips for me over to Europe! How do you like living in the states? Is the day to day a lot different from how life is in London? Where in Ohio are you? |

I love summer!! I'm a teacher so I'm off. We always spend a week in Laughlin and take the boat out to Lake Mojave. This summer is special because my stepdaughter is having a baby due July 5th, so I'm going to be a Grandma lol.
I'm also going to see Stevie in Lake Tahoe. Was hoping she'd come closer to So Cal, but at this point do you think she'll add any more shows?? Everyone who loves summer - Enjoy! |

Biggest day-to-day difference is the weather but we've adjusted to the extremes and like the hot summers. We have a slightly longer working day here, but much less commuting time--there it took me 90 minutes to travel the 10 miles to work. Here, it seems we can get anywhere in 15 minutes but it's car not train travel. We plan to move back to the UK at some point (15+ yrs from now) to a quiet village. You'll have such a wonderful adventure--make sure to report back! |
