Songs rehearsed for The Dance

Can anyone provide a definitive list of the songs that were rehearsed (but not, ultimately, performed live) for The Dance tv concert / tour, please?

I have heard some pretty odd rumours about what they played in rehearsal...

I don't know the whole list but I recall reading that "Brown Eyes" and "Easy Come Easy Go" (from ITM) were rehearsed.

ButterCookie 06-07-2010 10:48 AM

It's a shame recordings haven't surfaced. I'd love to hear a full band version of Easy Come Easy Go.

WizNicks 06-07-2010 11:08 AM

I can't find the link anymore, but I am pretty sure that I read about them rehearsing Little lies and Twisted too!

I think we could see a black board with some songs listed on it. I seem to recall that YMLF was one of the songs up there.

They DID do YMLF during The Dance...I think you're confusing the SYW tour.

LukeA 06-08-2010 03:48 AM

Isn't It Midnight was given consideration as well.

Gailh 06-08-2010 08:11 AM

The only one I heard that was rehearsed but not used was Little Lies

And they wound up playing this later on in the ensuing tour.

No, they didn't. Oh Daddy was the only Christine song added to the tour that wasn't on the live DVD.

Yep...it replaced "Over My Head", which wasn't performed on the tour, only for the DVD audience.

VINDICATION! :p Maybe I'm not going crazy after all!

mtkad 06-08-2010 04:45 PM

Would have loved to see a full rumours version of little lies, shame it only exists as a studio recording. YMLF in my opinion just cannot work without Christine, so i wonder how they arranged it for the SYW tour.

Ulpian 06-08-2010 05:13 PM

I had heard that they'd rehearsed As Long As You Follow, too.

I'd have liked to have heard that one.

It wasn't performed on the SWY Tour. The songs of Christine's they did was Say You Love Me and a Stevie butchered Don't Stop.

SYLM was almost as painful as Don't Stop. On both SYW and Unleashed :distress:

MacShadowsBall 06-08-2010 05:51 PM

Interesting that more of Christine's songs were considered.

I wonder if any of Stevie's solo or mac songs were considered but in the end dropped?

I really liked Christine's songs on the Dance.

Yeah, you're right. I was thinking of that blackboard we saw in the Destiny Rules video.

As far as I recall the only change in the set list throughout the entire tour was that "Eyes Of The World" was played on opening night...it was ****canned for "Second Hand News"...the rest of the tour's set list never varied (nor did their comments between songs, from what I've heard on recordings...and witnessed on back to back October nights in Irvine)

You and I?! Whoa! That would have been a surprise. I wonder how they did it - full band, or a Lindsey special? :)

APerfectLie 06-09-2010 07:24 PM

Sisters of the Moon, Straight Back, Seven Wonders, and Sister Honey were also rehearsed, but they settled on Sweet Girl instead. Okay, maybe not...

The only different banter I can remember offhand is that on at least 2 nights Lindsey forgot the order of the setlist and they joked about that, because he had begun to start another song. He and Christine remarked on it. Stevie said nothing to Lindsey, but went to Christine and pointed it out and then Christine spoke to Lindsey and he laughed at himself.

I was too young when the Dance came out (I was probably too busy watching Nick or doing stuff for the first or second grade) and no offense, but a song called Oh daddy, isn't it midnight could be pretty cool

Fabulous, Penguin Head!

Okay, I guess I was wishing they'd played Isn't it Midnight. That Buffalo show was amazing and my head was spinning.

Wow it's crazy to run into somebody who was at the Buffalo show. I was there up in the nosebleeds at "Marine Midland Arena"....I was all of 13/14 years old.

Very memorable show because it was my first, but slightly ruined because the sound was MISERABLE up in the bleeds.

Wish a good bootleg of that show was around. I had a copy but it was pretty bad.

Musicman408 06-11-2010 04:52 PM

Which is why I quoted Alex's post about it being from Unleashed?
