What is your favorite "appearance era"?
When I say "appearance era", I mean the general appearance of the band as a whole by album and whatnot. Pretty much hair style, they way they dressed, etc. So, I'd like to know which one was your fave and why.
|
I didn't really get to see a lot of them before Lindsey left in the Tango era, but what I saw rocked. They looked so chic in the videos and promo photos. Styled, smoldering, mysterious -- aware of their reputations.
I have two favorite band images. One is when they are in silhouette and we see the outline of their bodies, Lindsey on one end, Christine and Stevie on the other (I like the shot when they are touching best), but the other favorite band image is from Big Love when they are all standing on the beach in their overcoats. How like them not to use a beach scene as sunny and playful, but to be there in the evening, looking cold and distanced together. I always say they might as well have been on the moon. There's something alien and inaccessible about them there and I love it. Michele |
Again, my preferable response would be in an era that pre-dates the earliest selection of this poll. ;)
But since the white album era is the earliest choice, I picked that. Stevie was still the object of my fantasy obsession...was fascinated with Lindsey's white Les Paul Custom (and wondered how his "afro" had a life of its own when he'd shake his head)...Mick, John & Christine still looked the same as they did when Welch was in the band. But, like I said, I actually preferred the "rugby shirt & Jeans" look of the Peter Green era. |
I'm gonna vote later, but now, it's a toss-up between Tango in the Night and Rumours. I love how glamorous they looked during the TITN era, especially in the Seven Wonders vid, but I also dig the natural look they had going on during the Rumours era (especially Lindsey's fro and beard).

For me, it's Rumours, and here's my explanation : DREAMS Promo vid, or how Stevie Nicks became the sexiest woman ever. Actually, they all looked great in that video (except for Mick, but has he ever looked great?), and Lindsey, in that white suit... http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/li...smiley-007.gif |

As for Mick, he's always looked strange, but looks even stranger when he had no beard. OK, I made my decision and it shall be Rumours. Stevie's little shaggy haircut looks adorable on her, and it did have my fave Lindsey appearance with his crazy fro and beard. |
|
^^^
That pic is exactly what I'm talking about with Stevie's hair, the shaggy do that made her look like a shrunken-down version of Farrah Fawcett (but way better of course). And what does Mick seem to find more interesting than the camera in this pic? |
White Album and Rumours for sure. Although Chris looked her absolute best, if bored, in the Dance era.

This was easy for me. Tusk for sure! They all look so cool, and so sexy.
|
I picked Tusk but I'd say late Rumours to Tusk-Mirage eras.....thats what I loved...(late Rumours thinking like Japan 77 or so).....:D

Somebody needs to add "ORLY?" onto the bottom of that Lindsey picture.

If you ask me, it looks like he had an epiphany, namely realizing that I did have some logic behind my one-time thought that he wore colored contacts. |
Haha, you got it. ORLY stands for Oh Really? Just google image it.

It's a 3 way tie for me- White Album, Rumours and Tusk.
I love how everyone looks so.. natural and dare I say- "organic" in the White Album and Rumours Era- but I also adore Lindsey's look during Tusk. |

Rumours. They'd really hit their stride in regards to finding their own personal style. Money and fame was enabling them to develop their images. I think Tusk is when they all started to go a bit nuts personally and professionally, and it shows. They all look tired, beat down, drugged out, bedraggled, and just plain weird during that era. I think the money, fame, and drugs began affecting their appearances in the BAD way. Stevie's odd bun updo, Mick looked like warmed over death, Lindsey just looked crazed, Christine and John were perma sloppy drunk. I mean, it's fun to look back now at it, and of course I adore the album... but they weren't their prettiest during Tusk. |

I'll have to think about the reasons, but those are my favorite visual moments. |
My favorite era would have to be Tango in the Night. I just love that 80's look with that big hair. Plus too, they aged some and look "better"
This is my first post! Yeah Can anyone figure out from my Ledge name my 3 favorite things? |

Shadows and Ball have nothing to do with Fleetwood Mac! Although "The Chain" is one of my favorite songs. Think television shows from back in the day!:blob1: |

OK, Googling got me a British show called Shadows and some guy named Johnny Ball. Did I get it right? |

My 3 favorite "things" are Fleetwood Mac, the gothic soap opera "Dark Shadows" and the queen of classic comedy Lucille Ball. These are some "odd" things for a 25 year old guy to be crazy about, but I like them so there. A co-worker referred to me as an "Old Soul." I take that as a compliment!! ;) ;) |

And speaking of I Love Lucy, ever see the one where Ricky puts her on a schedule of doing stuff and, when she was ahead of schedule, she made breakfast the night before? As for old shows, I've always loved old-school cartoons from the big 3 studios in the day (Warner Bros., Disney, MGM) and I do have quite an enjoyment for Get Smart and Mission: Impossible. And let's put it this way: a 19 year-old college junior that likes that old stuff (and wears American Eagle and listens to thrash metal) is a lot stranger than you, but still, that's awesome. |
