first time .. this year

Thank you to @ClaytonMorris for helping me set up this account. I'm going to try and learn how to use it now. Any tips from you guys?

I saw! How can it be phoney? We know Clayton set up the account for her and we know Stevie knows/knew about it. Karen could have typed it, but I'm sure Stevie knows that she just tweeted.

PS - my first "tweet" too. I said I was not going to fall into that trap. Ugh.

They'd be smart to. Karen could totally use it to Stevie's advantage (instead of Stevie using it to her own advantage).

you know for a woman who loves to gab and share her life and songs, you'de think that nicks would embrace twitter. I bet once she starts, she won't be able to stop.

I was happy to see the tweet & I tweeted how happy it would make everyone for her to embrace twitter...but I bet a million dollars that its just Karen. :lol:

Regardless, its a good thing. The sooner she embraces social networking, the better. All kinds of celebrities have embraced it...those that don't are now at a disadvantage. It wouldn't hurt for her to use this as a way to reach out to her fans...even if she's paying Karen to do it for her. Besides, the casual fans and the new fans who are introduced to her music might not consider it isn't actually her they are tweeting to.

Until you can tweet from a typewriter, it's Karen :lol:

I do agree that I do not think it is a fake, but the words/language used seems a very non Stevie thing to say... so it probably is Karen. However, I am hoping it does lead to more info. and connection with the fans for any upcoming album and/or tour.

Maybe Dave Stewart talked up the benefits of using twitter to reach out to fans, etc...
and she wants to give it a try.

It's about time she started using Twitter. I agree that it's probably Karen doing the typing for her but it's still progress in the techno world for Stevie.

Dave Stewart probably told her "Listen Stevie, I'm sick & tired of intercepting messages for you and everyone tweeting me to ask about you and what you're doing...you need to do something about this so they will leave me alone!!!" :lol:

That, and I bet she gleaned the importance of internet social networking marketing (especially FREE marking such as Facebook and Twitter) from her time spent with Dave. Social networking sites really are the best way to get a grass roots movement started these days. Just look at the whole Betty White/SNL thing! We had a Facebook group save a 110 year old firehouse from being razed here in Charlotte. I don't think you can downplay the power or importance of social networking in the modern world... maybe Stevie's pragmatic side is realizing that.

Totally agree! It's what we've all been saying for a long time now...I'm glad someone has finally opened her eyes to it. I would have thought that her management would have sat her down and explained to her that, even if she doesn't like it and wants to stay old school, this is the way the world works now. All the CD/Tour/Concert promotions in the world can't compete with her promoting herself through social networking.

I have a feeling the Nicksfix is going to be updated soon, and it will say something along the lines of "Stevie is finally using her twitter account! Click here to follow her for up-to-the-minute information on what she's been doing", and then, we will never hear from her again on twitter.

It has to be Karen updating it, but regardless, it's someone from Stevie's camp, and it is very timely considering all the info about this tour and album that's coming out, mostly via Dave, who has half the followers of Stevie by-the-way. I just hope it doesn't become like the Nicksfix where her management has to approve everything that is posted and its a month's span between tweets.

I completely agree.... and with the lack of promotion the record companies, or the limited amounts they do because of resources, there's something to be said for doing and building it yourself.

I think it had to do with WB. Maybe they didn't want her tweeting, but if she is out of her contract now (maybe her contract ended a year after the release of soundstage, which would make a lot of sense since there have been a lot of strange things going on with stevie as of late) she is free to do whatever the hell she wants!
