Do I have a scoop or is this old news?
I just saw where they're coming out with the LindseyBuckingham/Little Big Town CMT: Crossroads material on CD on June 1st.
Ok, am I seriously late to the party, or am I passing along new info?? |
Well i didn't know this - thanks for the info, Chili!
|
Ok...good....I'm glad it was "news" to somebody, at least. I was paranoid I'd turned into "Captain Redundant" again. :D
|
I didn't know it either!! COOL :D
I bought a horrible ( bootleg ) copy a while back, which I threw away it was so bad. Later, I recorded it myself off CMT. Still, I'd love to have an official release...so I hope this is not another crappy bootleg... |

Thanks Chilli...I did not know! ;)

Oooh, you can order the DVD or the audio from Amazon.
Of course, I hope for some extra footage on the DVD, but I know it's not going to happen. I'm excited. Thanks for telling us about it Chili. Michele |
And Lindsey gets top billing on the packaging. I love it:).
That was not to be expected, since they've had a hit more recently than he has. Michele |
Sweet!. It was a cool pairing.
|
Maybe this is a lead up to a new album in autumn since it's been two years since GOS and he's trying to keep his average time between releases low since SYW.
I wish. |
This is great news!!!!!!!!!! Thanks chiliD!
|
Thank you, Chili. Yours was not old news--and we needed to know--but their crossroads sure is old news . . .
ETA: It's an Import? |
Thanks, Chili.
I'm a little annoyed that the DVD and the CD have to be ordered separately, however. |

I had no idea...it will be nice to have an offical release of the show. Esp for Lindsey collecting purposes. Not that the other band wasn't ok but I mainly watched the show for Lindsey. I also have a bootleg cd of it.....now maybe I can get both sometime. Thanks for the info!! Cool!! whomever buys it first....show us the goods ok....thanks!! Its nice to look forward to some kinda release anyway.....

If you guys are interested, type in Immortal Eur/Zoom on Amazon's
Movie and TV search and you'll find many releases from this label. Sadly they don't have a good track record. Not that it will stop me from buying the DVD. |
bootleg, right?
This has got to be a bootleg, right? These overseas labels tend to release these things because they assume they're safe from lawsuits.

I wouldn't be surprised, many Elvis Presley bootlegs come from there. |
Amazon informed me that the CD shipped, but not the DVD. Hopefully it will be worth it!
|
I got the CD and the packaging is nice, but if you already have the mp3's, ahem, don't bother. It also doesn't look like the DVD is a real thing. Amazon is trying to hunt it down for me. Did anyone get the DVD?

I just got mine at a nice price $12 (including shipping), and it's a nicer product than I expected. For one thing, it is presented predominantly as a Lindsey Buckingham CD: Lindsey Buckingham & Little Big Town. In reality it is more of a Little Big Town show with Lindsey as a guest player. The CD package features three big close up photos of Lindsey (which I think suck and are lazy from a graphic perspective). Big Town is visually represented only by a strip of tiny photos.
The song list is a little skimpy - only eight songs: Bones The Chain Big Love Bringing It On Home Boondocks Not To Late Good As Gone Go Your Own Way What caught my ear on this record is Lindsey's voice. He sings in a pleasingly controlled manner, without the overwrought and strained yelps to which he is usually prone. My only dissapointment is the inclusion of three well-worn Fleetwood Mac songs -- The Chain, Go Your Own Way, and Big Love. Little Big Town's strong vocals are so tight and spot-on that they force a comparison to Fleetwood Mac's live versions, and Fleetwood Mac is the loser, vocally (minus Stevie's choir of background singers). I think the background vocals on Never Too Late help make the song more accessible. But I wish he would have selected more songs from his solo catalog. The last thing we need are re-re-hashed versions of songs that have been re-hashed so many times. Yet, despite all my observations/complaints...it's still a nice (unofficial? ) addition to his solo catalog! Thanks Holland! |

that I thought Lindsey should ask these guys to go out with him and do a tour. |

I got my copy today from CDUniverse, and am disappointed. :distress: The quality is about like a used VHS tape. I saw the show originally in HD, on CMT, so obviously it was crystal clear. On the CD you can't even tell that Lindsey has blue eyes ( which was easy to see on the HD broadcast ). Bad color. Fuzzy. Not good at all. Audio is just OK too. The case is nice. I think the graphic work is actually pretty good. Not great, but good. I especially like the large photo on the inside ( it spans the entire inside of the case )...it's a close-up of Lindsey while he's leaning into a solo ( I think it's from The Chain ). It also has a folded insert with Lindsey's bio.
So, I guess I'll throw away the crappy DVD, and keep the case. Then, I'll have to get my recorded HD version off the DVR and burn it onto a disc, and use that instead...It'll be extra work, but, he's worth it! ------------------------------------------------------------- |
