Stevie Makes Me Smile!

While waiting for my DSL to get hooked up, I've been watching a LOT of Stevie DVDs (Thank You, Alicia!!!).

I love Stevie and her music so much! Just a few of the things that made me smile the last few days:

Stevie twirling Elaine on "Stand Back" in Largo
Stevie's super-cool mega Eighties perm on "Little Lies"
Stevie rocking out on "Blue Denim" (Alicia even took pics that night!!!)
Stevie singing along to Todd Rundgren's "I Saw The Light" (John, this can be her next cover, so you can make note!)

Has STEVIE made you smile lately?

mikebise 04-29-2010 11:09 PM

I'm listening to the UK single remix of "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind" right now ~ makes me SMILE and be all kissy face to Stevie Nicks!!!!!

Nathan 04-29-2010 11:52 PM

Is this why you haven't been on, Mike Bise? Too busy watching Stevie and Elaine, waiting for DSL?

mikebise 04-30-2010 12:02 AM

Is that Bitchy and Anti-Stevie?

I can go read the Stevie/Dave Stewart threads for that bitchiness.

This is about LOVING STEVIE's music...

Nathan 04-30-2010 12:40 AM

Oh my god, no, it wasn't, at all.

mikebise 04-30-2010 03:31 AM

Nathan, I apologize!

My short time away made me too sensitive.

I was just realizing how much I love Stevie's music.

EVERYDAY!!!:]~

Musicman408 04-30-2010 06:35 AM

Yeah, she's made me smile lately. She normally always does.

tilthefirefades 04-30-2010 02:14 PM

Red Rocks always makes me smile. The random crap she throws in, completely unintelligible, but beautiful and poetic at the same time...;)

And also, every bootleg I can get of OTR, I just listen to them all, and smile every time.

mikebise 04-30-2010 02:22 PM

You inspired me! I put Red Rocks on and started smiling all over!

I just love that red shawl on "I Need To Know"!!!!!!!

my favorites are BATB and HAEWAFY - i was ballin' like a baby!

Also, the whole symbolism between the dove NOT leaving her arm was AWESOME!:blob2:

mikebise 04-30-2010 03:15 PM

Yeah, I don't care what was re-shot or re-recorded ~ The Red Rocks DVD is amazing!!!! "No Spoken Word" blows my mind ~ "Ooh, let's make a deal here!"

Smiling!!!!!!!

Stevie Nicks makes my heart skip a beat on a daily basis whether I'm listening to her music, watching her videos, chatting on The Ledge, talking about her to "normies", or fantasizing about our evening together in Malibu rocking out to her music. You know, well? :D

tilthefirefades 04-30-2010 03:32 PM

I don't think I will every like HAEWFY, it bores the living hell out of me. It sounds like it never left the demo phase. :sorry:

I like it but BATB is far superior as far as ballads go.

Exactly, BATB is the supreme Stevie ballad.

Exactly the reason why I can't stand watching this video. Should have NEVER been released. This sucks just as bad as the re-shot Tango In The Night video.

Not THAT bad. I literally can't even get through one song on the Tango show. I love RAL era - so that makes watching it easier. Plus, there are good spots with little close ups that make it not so bad. Stand Back has good, real footage at the end. Same with BATB - I think that song has the most real footage out of any song on the set. And EOS has the amazing edge wail footage and not too many close ups. Other songs like Dreams are just horrible with all the close ups. There are so many just plain stupid things, edit wise going on in that DVD like the fake storm during Dreams, or the weird screen zoom out box thing on No Spoken Word.

But it's RAL so I still love it. At least it doesn't show backstage footage during the dang show, or slow motion Stevie or fans in horrible jean jackets - just some of the stuff I watched during the few seconds I've spent on the Tango DVD.

We should all:laugh: officially change the lyric to this.

mikebise 04-30-2010 09:44 PM

As long as it's heard with Stevie's 1983 voice from Streets of Fire!

Where Stevie TAKES OVER her song from Joe's Kentuckian back-up singer! ;)

I love Live at Red Rocks and Stevie's wild hair during the RAL era and TITN. I thought she was so pretty in the Little Lies and Seven Wonders videos.

ragrsrocalot 05-04-2010 10:20 AM

This makes me smile. It's fun to watch Stevie let her freak flag fly.

I saw Stevie LIVE when she was touring with Tom Petty, and she was genuinely having FUN up on the stage. (It just reinforced to me that her time in Fleetwood Mac is really over.) If you get Tom's "Running Down A Dream" 4 disc set (which you can buy seriously CHEAP right now, it has all of this on disc 3:

"One 30th Anniversary Concert Disc 3: Listen To Her Heart Mary Jane's Last Dance I Won't Back Down Free Fallin' Saving Grace I'm A Man Oh Well Handle With Care Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (with Stevie Nicks) I Need To Know (with Stevie Nicks) It's Good To Be King Down South Southern Accents Insider (with Stevie Nicks) Learning To Fly Don't Come Around Here No More Runnin' Down A Dream You Wreck Me Mystic Eyes American Girl Bonus Soundtrack."

I absolutely love the tambo video! I have watched it several times over the past year.
I crack up at the begining of her "rocking fit" how some random audience member yells "Oh My God!!"...lolololol!!
