I can't find this mentioned anywhere else...has anyone been able to confirm this???

Macfanforever 04-16-2010 08:29 PM

I just went to Trumps taj's site and that date is open and its blank and sat the 28 is Donna Summer.also i just notice the tickets are cheap there then at the Borgata.Donna's shows tickets are $75.00 for premium. This is interesting,I guess she is not going to take some time off, also if this is the case, she might do a casino tour.now I'm wonder if she will book Las Vegas and up in my neck of the woods at Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods MGM here in Connecticut.BTW did anyone call the tele number at this hotline. Also to add,I just visited Ticketmaster and there was zero enteries for Stevie Nicks tickets in AC or anywhere else at that matter. We just have to wait and see how this will pan out,But I hope it will pan out.

vivfox 04-16-2010 09:06 PM

I just dialed this number(Stevie Nicks Ticket Hotline 1-866-881-2999)
which is in the article I posted. A man answered right away telling me he works for a ticket agency that sells concert tickets. He says Stevie is definately performing at the Taj Mahal on the date listed and tickets will go on sale "probably next week."

Then I told him that I called the Taj-pretending to use macfanforevers info- and he said he's on his cell phone in his car right now so he can't confirm the info sale date cause he's not in his office.

I think it really is true!

Remember, all you Ledgies and everyone else at all the other Fleetwood Mac websites, it was I, VivFox who brought you this information first!:blob2:

michelej1 04-16-2010 09:09 PM

Exciting. Makes me want to get tickets. But if she does this date, she'll do more and some on the west coast. She's not going to get all of her band members together for just a one night stand. So, I should just try to be patient.

Michele

Hmmm maybe she is already booking dates for a solo tour to promote her upcoming album? I know Stevie's not above doing shows just to do shows god knows shes not above that, but still I just have a feeling shes not in need of randomly touring in 2010.

Maybe someone could ask Dave Stewart. ust be prepared for:

"Oh Yea shes doing tour in whole new way"

SapphireSister 04-16-2010 09:32 PM

This is great news! I too went to the Taj site and no mention of Stevie. I will sure as hell make sure it's official before I do anything and although I'm all the way in Cali I was planning on going to Philly late summer so this may all just work out! My dad has a house in AC so no worries about booking hotels, etc. Thanks Viv and please keep us updated on the status of this.

daniellaaarisen 04-16-2010 09:36 PM

She BETTER come to California..... I WILL DIE.

Macfanforever 04-16-2010 09:36 PM

Wow,I hope this guys is true.any I'm glad shes getting her touring plans scheduled early then on the fly tour dates.monday I have to tell my boss to move my vaca from june to august, but i should wait until this unfolds.

Macfanforever 04-16-2010 09:39 PM

Also I wonder if Dave Stewart will pop up on stage with her.

2 words: road trip. Seriously though I'm sure if she turns this turns out to be any type of tour she's come here to CA.

Also, I don't think we should all get our hopes up though that she'll be turning with new material.

HejiraNYC 04-16-2010 10:35 PM

I have to admit this looks kinda legit. The other concert dates listed on that site are for real, and it seems plausible enough. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go!! :blob1: Road trip from NYC, anyone? Maybe there are enough people to charter a bus?

I wouldn't get my hopes up about a tour though... for some reason she plays one-off/outlier dates in AC. I guess The Donald is making this worth her while. The inside of the Taj looks like Barney the Dinosaur threw up after drinking too much grape Kool Aid. Yuck.

WildHeart69 04-16-2010 10:58 PM

OHHH YEEAAAAH! I now know what my first purchase as an employed citizen will be!!!

I was just gonna say, its such a sucky venue - but its close and its on a weekend! I am making hotel reservations now I think...even if it turns out to be a SNAFU I can always use a weekend in AC!

louielouie2000 04-16-2010 11:13 PM

Ahh, more Dave Matthews, Bob Seger, Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt, Led Zepplin, etc cover song performances to come! ;)

WildHeart69 04-16-2010 11:33 PM

as they say... sit in a rocker and read the phonebook - I'll be there

tilthefirefades 04-16-2010 11:40 PM

Wow this is exciting!! :blob2: I would so be down for a Ledgie road trip! If the tickets go on sale soon we should really plan it!

SuiteShangriLa 04-16-2010 11:55 PM

:blob1::blob1::blob1:
i hope this pans out to be a summer tour!
:]:]:]
its been almost 2 years...i need a Stevie concert!

Steviefan49 04-17-2010 12:59 AM

AWESOME!!! I was planning on trying to come up and meet up with friend's in NJ this comming Summer/ August anyway, so this just may be what the doctor ordered! YAYY :]

AliceLover 04-17-2010 01:11 AM

Ok let me just start by saying, im super excited. However, as we left our current Stevie on the Unleashed Tour, her vocals were a bit shaky. I'm going to be pessimistic (sp?) and say that theres no way she would be able to get through Edge of Seventeen with the vocals she was producing at the end of the Unleashed tour.

This post was not meant to be negative at all. I just thought she sounded shaky. Let me just say I hope she tours this summer!!!!

Nikolaj 04-17-2010 01:20 AM

Yay! Very Yay!

Amlyn 04-17-2010 01:49 AM

Awesome!!! I've never seen Stevie solo, so this will be great. I do hope she does a few dates in the NJ/NY/PA area!

Yeah, her vocals from those New Zealand shows were especially painful to listen to. I'll chock it up to yearlong touring as a 60 year old woman who's been performing for 40 years.

I wish I could get excited at the thought of new Stevie shows, but I just can't :distress:. It's just going to be more rehashing of the same old setlist we've seen this past 10 years. Probably with an additional cover or two thrown in. I love Stevie to death, but I just can't find any reason to go see her until she has new material to wow me with, either Mac or solo.

Tour Stevie, tour!!
*edit - rude comment.

Louie may be right about the setlist, but I have minor hope- I think there's some indication that she finally got 'all-Rhiannoned out, all Landslided out' on the Unleashed Tour, just as she had some 30 years earlier. She went right back to work, with Dave Stewart, and I think it's possible she may debut 2 new songs as a preview to the new solo cd I am stubbornly insisting will be released this year. On Interscope. But, whatever.
Somehow, I missed her performing 'Face The Promise' in person, and I have to admit that I liked it, and play it often, though a rocking original would be more awesome, I like what she did with the song. (Thank God for The Ledge and the Internet)- She also has said she toys with the idea of playing seldom-if ever heard tunes, like 'Sable On Blonde' and I have to admit that both the 'Enchanted' and 'TISL' tours both featured 5 and 6 new songs, so we could really find unexpected surprises with whatever shows she puts together this summer.
One thing I don't hold much hope for is that she might realize that a Stevie Nicks solo set should represent all of her solo albums and some rare or new songs, and really ditch the Fleetood Mac tunes for once in her solo life. At this stage especially, 'Rhiannon' and 'Landslide' and especially 'Dreams' and 'GDW' would have SO much more impact if she saved them for her next Fleetwood Mac tour. The audience would survive. But again, whatever.
I still think she has to do 'Love Is Like An itching In my Heart' again, one time just was not enough, and none of us, none of us, seem to have heard even a second of it. It very well could be her usual set list, but I expect a few surprises at this stage- She doesn't have a LOT of time left to surprise us! I just know I want to be there, and I feel a Mohegan Sun show must be a certainty, she plays there so often solo and with Mac, with Henley... I think something happened a year on the road with 'Unleashed' and songs that dated from the 70s to 1983. I think she knows there's a lot of songs she- finally- finally- wants to sing, and a new original or two.
But again, Louie darn well may be right, and it may be very much her usual show. Somehow, I think not, however. 'Enchanted' was awesome with the rarely-heard songs, and as someone pointed out, her first solo tour with 'Blue Lamp', 'Think About It' and so many others she hasn't done in ages... Maybe a year singing 'Rhiannon' and 'Gypsy' got her thinking about other songs she just has to sing, at least once! This summer could be it. I bet she does 'Everbody Loves You' too. She herself may not hang out, on The Internet, I mean, but things do get back to her, bigtime. Quickly. She stared down the front rows during the first night of the 'Enchatned' tour after a while, maybe five songs into the show, and said 'Hey! I changed my set!' :)
The "Say You Will' wardrobe became impressive soon after many of us here wrote rather-funny song parodies of her 'black cardigan' - a VERY funny thread. And it changed things, we soon saw colors and changes... I think she knows that her fans (who she sometimes even likes) are hungry to hear "the mad songwriters" brilliant songs that she hasn't performed for us, yet. and really rock out for us, while she still can :)

Dodfather 04-17-2010 04:32 AM

I'm really happy for all you guys that will be able to go!! Unfortunately though I won;t be able to afford a trip to the US until the first part of 2011. I'll be working full time from July and have to sort finances out before things like that - boo! If it was October onwards I might be able to swing it but...boo!

I'll keep you all posted though cos if I do get a ticket, after flights etc Imight need somewhere to crash!! lol.

I really have to see Stevie live - I've been a fan for sooooo long and never been able to because she hasn;t played anywhere in Europe for 20 years and hasn't played the US whien I've been there! Dunno about this series of gigs but if she plays anywhere in the future I WILL be there!!

APerfectLie 04-17-2010 04:41 AM

Hmm, I don't really know what to think about this. If word gets to Stevie and she listens, then that means she will be releasing a new album, her book, finishing the rhiannon project, and bringing SOTM back out on stage! If she did any of these, I would be happy. I won't hold my breath. If this turns into another greatest hits tour, I will be disappointed. I want new, not Crystal Visions part 2. And it isn't so much that I don't want to hear the old songs rehashed again, because I do love them and have never seen her live, but its that I dont want her to spend time touring off of old work and killing herself physically when she could be creating new stuff and make the last 20 years of her career as successful and amazing as the first 30. I think Stevie has yet to write her best song and she has so much left in her, it would be sad for her to just let it all slide away because touring off of "Rhiannon" and "Dreams" is much more comfortable. That being said, I would still go see her if she came near.

I don't get the Bonnie Raitt thing. She is really not a writer. Most of her hits were written by other people. That Nick of Time album was way overrated.

I love Bonnie Raitt! She has always been a writer, although more so in recent years. She wrote arguably the 2 most successful tracks from her first two albums - Finest Lovin Man (Bonnie Raitt, 1971) and Give It Up Or Let Me Go (Give It Up, 1972) and adapted the lyrics of Love Me Like A Man from the original.

You're right though, she then didn't have as much success with her own work for the rest of the decade but she's so highly regarded as an interpeter of others work and for unearthing new writing talent. Eric Kaz, Chris Smither, Allen Touissant etc.

She has said herself that she began to write a lot more in the late 1980s (when she wasn't getting sent such great material any more) and while I agree that Nick Of Time is overrated, it does have some great tunes by her with quite daring lyrics (Nick Of Time especially) I think it was with Luck Of The Draw (1991) and Longing In Their Hearts (1994)that she really came into her own as a writer though, since both of them have more of her own compositions than previous albums. She also continues to unearth new talent (Shirley Eckhart wrote Something To Talk About, for example).

Circle Dance is from Longing In Their Hearts.

Since then, I'm pretty sure most of her albums have had at least 3 songs written by her, helping to build her a reputation as a consistent writer now that her one as an interpreter and nurturer of new talent is so established and continues alongside her newly sucvcessful role as a writer.
