Sarah Belladonna & Salamith

What happened to them? Are they still alive? I don't think they tour with her but I haven't heard anything or seen pics recently. I hope they are both living and well. I would hate the thought of Stevie having to deal with the loss of a pet (although she has before). I have a little yorkie (because of Stevie of course) whom I love and adore and no, her name is not Stevie b/c that will be my daughter's name .
Edit: Sara Belladonna, not Sarah
Edit 2: Sulamith, not Salamith

I've only seen one of them floating around lately.
Then again, they look so much LIKE each other
that maybe it's just that she's only bringing one
along at a time! :)
For whatever it's worth, I know Joe Novackowski
(through Facebook, etc.) - he's the guy that sent a flag
from Iraq to Stevie, who she later asked to meet - he
recently (at least within the last year) had his picture
taken backstage with Stevie, and she had one of the dogs
with her at the time. I'll see if I can find it and post it.
So at least fairly recently, at least one of them was
still alive and doing well! ........

By the way, it's "Sulamith," not Salamith.
Stevie named it after her favorite painter,
Sulamith Wulfing. Somebody posted S.W.'s
artwork in here awhile back, it's quite similar
to Stevie's. She seems to use it as a "guide"
for her own drawings.

I've never been able to get my head around what on earth posessed her to call the little one Sara Belladonna.

That's such a good picture of Stevie! Those pups have gotta be getting pretty ancient... we've heard about them and seen them since sometime in the '90s.

Cute pic!
How convenient that her dogs have laser eyes.

I thought one of 'ems hair fell out and she found out it was actually a chinese yorkie? I swear I read that somewhere....

Yeah, here it is:

"I wait with her dogs in the kitchen, where her assistant has prepared snacks. One Yorkshire terrier has the same blonde hair as Nicks, and it falls into a 1970s-style fringe. The dog growls at me, baring tiny, sharp teeth. Another is wearing a coat. Nicks's assistant tells me that the singer spent thousands of dollars on the pet, believing the dog was stressed and had alopecia. It turned out that the pooch is a Chinese Yorkie, the mother having got lucky with a Chinese crested canine - bald of body and hairy of face - at the breeders."

I think George and Douglas. Six years ago anyway. There might be some additions or losses now.

Louie, that's exactly what I thought when I first saw the photo. It amazes me how she continually seems to look younger and prettier in snapshots as opposed to professional filtered lenses! She's gorgeous and to second your emotion from another thread, this is not what a typical 61 yo woman looks like!

Doesn't she have a little white dog too (I don't know what the breed is)? I saw Karen wandering around with one (unless it's Karen's dog) at the Allstate show last year, and I saw it on the Chris Isaak show sniffing around. Anyone know if it has a less ridiculous name?

OMG ROTFL! I thought the same thing about my y0rkie when her hair started falling out and after spending thousands of dollars I was told by her breeder that her father was Korean.

michelej1 04-04-2010 01:15 PM

But remember when Stevie was talking about walking into her big house alone with her dog and they both went looking room to room, not knowing what to make of it? She gave two interviews last year where she seemed to only refer to having one dog and it made me wonder if one or 2 of hers had passed away recently.

The little white dog is Rodney. He belongs to Cheryl Louis.

Thanks. Rodney should consider himself fortunate! I kid, I kid.

Don't know if you are joking or being serious...??? But When registering a dog, you give it a long name like that, just like you have a first name, middle name, and last name. But you don't get called that all the time. I show dogs and all mine have AKC registered names, but I of course have call names for them all.
I think she gave her yorkies beautiful names.

I'm 100% serious  If she does have other names why have they never been brought up? I completely plan on getting a Pug in the near future and he shall be called Iggy. If I have to I'll register him as Iggy Pop but nothing like Iggy Pop the 3rd Duke of bloody York

Even still, if she had to register them with long names why on earth after her own songs?

Because they're so very special to her, and if she didn't call her dogs that she might think Sara and Belladonna were living down the road.. ;)

I'm sure named them that because she loves her dogs and she loves her music. So why not...? My dogs are show dogs and have registered names. Obviously her dogs are special to her and she is very proud of them. And I certainly do not give my dogs names like "Duke of bloody York."
