Would you let Stevie cut\color your hair?

Maybe after a bottle of wine.

I'd give it a go.

Thank you for sharing this! I had only ever seen a quick version of this in the past. This video was fun!

This is fantastic! When was this? I'm not sure if I would let Stevie color my hair, but the woman's red hair actually looked pretty good.

Hahahaa that was great! When was this exactly? Lookin' kind of similar to the Red Rocks hair...?

gypsy4life 02-22-2010 11:17 PM

Wow! Stevie did great. I'd let her do mine.

April 23 1987, the Red Rocks re-takes were shot a couple weeks earlier as was the Big Love video.

StreetAngel95 02-23-2010 06:23 AM

absolutely! it looked so great! i would love some fire engine red streaks in my hair but mommy won't let me :(

belladonnadream 02-23-2010 07:46 AM

I would have maybe in the 70's or early 80's...not so sure about this time frame...looks like late RAL early 87 TITN.......this craziness suits her as a rock star but for us everyday Joes IDK....I would have liked her to give me the Rumours Shag with a lavender streak!

holidayroad 02-23-2010 09:14 AM

I would let her do my hair only if she absolutely promised to not do the style she had in the TITN years (1987-1988). I think that's her worst hair years. In fact, the hair she had in this video is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.

SuiteShangriLa 02-23-2010 09:28 AM

thanks for posting this i had never seen the entire thing...
this was early 87, i remember it was originally aired on Entertainment Tonight or one of those shows like that and they only showed a few quick clips from it. i have it on vhs somewhere...
And the way it was shown back then, i always thought that the first lady Stevie had in the chair, and the second lady with the dark red hair were the same...before and after. obviously not so.

I saw it on Entertainment Tonight as well and I thought the same as you, that the first girl was the one Stevie dyed red!!! By the way, I like your avatar!

Enchanted_Stevi 02-23-2010 09:46 AM

In today's age...yes. Considering Stevie's hairstyle has changed and I'm sure what kinda hair styles she thinks are cool compared to back in the day. LOL

RockAlot 02-23-2010 11:58 AM

I recall going to a Stevie show in So. Cal. around this time and saw (Eber is that his name:shrug: LOL) walking into the concert right in front of us.

Cool. You are correct, his name is Jose Eber.

petep9000 02-23-2010 02:00 PM

"I love my color..."

(silence all around her, Stevie tries to walk away)

"Don't you?"

Ha Ha Ha. I caught that too. Stevie seemed pleased with her work at the very end, and the lady was just kind of like uuuhhhhh. Did that lady seem lit to you? Maybe it was just the lighting, or the excitement, but she seemed pretty lit up.

petep9000 02-23-2010 03:16 PM

She seemed more like she was in shock, like "what have they done to me???"

hahaha, and Stevie says "we call her 'Red' now"

SuiteShangriLa 02-23-2010 03:37 PM

i think Stevie and Jose were the ones who were a little lit up...they were either smokin up some weed or had a few cocktails just before. Stevie in the background at the end ...she was cracking up (like, 'i cant believe they just let me dye this girls hair - can i go back to the bar now?')

And then lets out that little devilish giggle.
At 6:20 Stevie says " It's gonna look just like this when I get done with it ", then watch and listen to the lady's expression. Classic..Ha Ha. Stevie is beaming with wickedness of all kinds. I Love It. Too Funny.
Picture just hanging out with that group in that kind of setting. You would just probably laugh your ass off.

ButterCookie 02-23-2010 04:05 PM

Haha, if I still had long hair she could do what the hell she liked to it. It's too short now though, unless she decided she wanted to give me a mohawk or something like that.

Or a Ziggy Stardust mullet.

AgeOldDesire 02-23-2010 05:47 PM

At 2:08 is that a puff of smoke leaving Stevie's lips? Maybe she was taking a toke before pressing on. :D

And did she say she got her brown from the drug store or the drag store?

DashingDan 02-23-2010 06:15 PM

GOOD CATCH!!! Hysterical! They just don't have a care in the world, do they? Poor thing getting her hair @#$@ up by two freaks...hahaha.

Musicman408 02-23-2010 06:43 PM

If I let Stevie do my hair, it would require me to meet her- which would totally be cool!

Ha Ha.Definitely exhaled some kind of smoke. I think she said drag store.

ragrsrocalot 03-04-2010 08:31 PM

Does any one of us ledgies have any wild hair- 80ish photos that they would be willing to post, you know for ****s and giggles?

goldustsongbird 03-04-2010 08:53 PM

I wouldn't let anyone colour my hair.

Did you ever have crimped out hair, like the SA look. Or did you ever have your hair 5 inches off the top of your scalp, or an outragous perm. All of those 80 style do's.
PS. why no colorist, just curious?

SapphireSister 03-05-2010 12:43 PM

Um yes and Stevie could shave my head too if she so desired...

No to all of the above, but I did rock a (little) mullet and bowl cut at different points of my life.

No need for a colourist! People have always told me they'd die for my hair colour (blonde with brown streaks), so why mess with a good thing? ;)

Cool. I had the " Dorothy Hamill " cut ( bowl ) when I was 8. It was the big time style at the time. :) As far as your colour, that does sound like a beautiful blend that I would not mess with either, if I were you. I only asked cuz I was thinking that you had a bad experience, and Jose & Stevie were triggering flashbacks.

Yes, I did the perm faze, and the crimpimg thing for a bit. I went through my fair share of " Aqua Net " and " White Rain ". But I would draw the line at the shaving bit. Some other compromise perhaps, but definetly not that, I would not wear it well. :wavey:

The only dyes I've put in it were the wash-in ones that lasted for a few days, aaaand one time I let my friends colour my hair with marker. So maybe a bit triggering!
