and i'm just thinking... Lindsey's kinda......amazing...:p ok...i'm done... :sorry: for the pointless thread. and i will now direct you to the awesomest photo ever... Click me!!!!! |
Can you do a report on LB for World History?? lol! I wrote a term paper in college titled 'Lindsey Buckingham and His Commercial Effect on Fleetwood Mac'. This was in 1992, after he had left FM. I received a B+!

I did like Fleetwood Mac when I was in college, but I never thought to write about them at the time. Michele |

For AP English III for a final project we had to do a research paper on anything we wanted, and of course I did it on Fleetwood Mac. That was 3 years ago, and my FM knowledge has at least tripled by now, but I still received an A :D
|
haha wow i didn't think this thread would get much of any views.....but i do wish i could do a report on him! unfortunately it's on the industrial revolution.......grrrrrr
|
I did an essay describing Debbie Harry (I just posted it in the writing thread) in school and got an A+

Kind of OT but...
I can't remember what class it was-probably some writing course- but in undergrad I wrote a paper explaining why Plastic Ono Band by John Lennon was probably the most powerful, soul-bearing, and testimonial album ever created, and I totally got an A on it.*
*I think the professor was a Lennon fan. ;) But seriously...that album is a work of art. I'm all for papers on the greatness of an artist or a work of art. It's SO much more compelling when you believe it yourself, though you have to word it in a way that doesn't sound completely biased. If I was writing a paper now I would totally choose LB's Out of the Cradle as best album ever. And I would make sure to toot his horn. |
I remember justifying listening to Tusk while studying for my geometry exams by incorporating the geometry into the songs from Tusk. "What Makes You Think You're an Equilateral Triangle" was a fave. Also recall the lyric "said Sara! You're a parallelogram!" Yeah.

Out of curiosity, are you a Nutopian citizen? (http://www.joinnutopia.com/) |

The "Lennon Anthology" is one of the most beautiful collections of music I have ever heard in my life. No, :). Not a citizen... Thanks for the link! |

I wrote an article on Stevie for a school magazine, and talked about her a lot in an English essay on song lyrics. I think teachers like to see enthusiasm :) Btw, I don't think this is a pointless thread. I have those "epiphanies" all the time about a particular artist or song (or line in a song!) and it's great to share them! |
Lindsey is great. I remember seeing him for the first time watching the Dance and being just transfixed. It's sad in my area when I gush about Lindsey, everybody always go who:( Idiots lol

^^ It's worse when they go "who's she?"

makes Miranda sad....... :( |
Didn't mean to dig up this old thread, but I've had some FM epiphanies. Recently, in my struggles to pass precalc (along with the rest of the class), I realized my experience sounded a lot like the lyrics to I'm So Afraid, so I posted the Rosebud version of it on my Facebook just yesterday (those of you that are friends with me on FB, such as golddustdrummer, saw it).
I never wrote any papers on FM, but knowing me, it'd probably be a debate over whether or not I prefer Rumours or Tusk Lindsey more lol. Or maybe it'd be why I think Tusk is so awesome. |

i would love for a full-fledged Ledge debate on Rumours vs. Tusk ultimately, i would have to be on the Team Tusk, but it would not be an easy choice. |

And I'll be honest: it's a tough decision for me too, like trying to pick between Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, or IV and Physical Graffiti, or Abbey Road and the White Album (sorry, had to throw out classic vs. double album debates), and depending on my mood, I'll be in either camp. |

I get that feeling about Stevie, in class too  |
