iPhone/apps
Well, very surprisingly, my parents got me an iPhone for my birthday! I wanted to know some apps that you ledgies like to use. Are there any good free ones you enjoy? Please feel free to share - and if you've got any other tips or suggestions for the phone. It's a lot of fun - this thing can do anything!

If you travel a lot, AroundMe is a great app. It'll snag your location, and then find whatever you want - restaurants, specific types of stores, etc, with directions and everything. http://www.tweakersoft.com/mobile/aroundme.html
Pandora has a great app, too, for music - http://www.pandora.com/on-the-iphone Yelp has an iPhone app, too, I believe. I have the BlackBerry version. This is like AroundMe, in that it will find places for you, but it also offers user reviews and other things like that, which is helpful if you are trying to figure out if a store has something specific for you or something like that. I have an iPhone (alas not a 3G one, but my BB is 3G anyway) that someone gave to me as a present, but I am still under contract with Sprint, so I don't use it as a phone. Oh, and for fun, Steve Jobs is a WITCH: Cracks me up every time. Enjoy your fancy phone! |
I have an ipod touch and I have a ton of apps on there. Some free some I paid for. ...

I have an 8 gig iPhone 3G, but I have over 1000 songs downloaded to it, so I don't keep too many apps on my phone. I have added some, got sick of them, deleted them, and download new. What I have now is Facebook (that stays on there), Finger Physics (oh I love this!!!), The Weather Channel, Scrabble, and Polywog. I think it's time to get rid of Scrabble and Polywog... I'm bored with them.

I don't have an iPhone (don't have AT&T) but I have both an 8 GB and a 64 GB iPod Touch.
I love them so much and I have lots of apps but there are many useless and boring ones out there. It all depends on what interests you have. Here is a list of some of my favorites. Google Earth Virtuoso (a piano keyboard) Tap N pop lite Pandora (streaming Internet radio) Zippo lighter (good for concerts) iTranslate IMDB (movie database) Flood-it! Flixster (shows movie times and trailers) TMZ (celebrity news) Superpoke! Pets (if you want a virtual pet that doesn't do much) Engadget ( latest technology news) AP Mobile E! News Popsugar* Photobucket Photoshop.com mobile * |

I forgot to add I have an app called Mappity Quakes. It lists earthquakes all over the world within the past 24 hours. It gives the time and magnitude and maps the location. It was free before but now it's .99. I have an unhealthy addiction to this app.*

Got a friend who is quite rude and just keeps playing with their new i-phone when you're trying to have a conversation?
There's a slap for that. |
Doodle Jump is the best! Also Daily Tracker and iThoughts (mindmapping) if you think you'd use them :)
|
Just downloaded i-spy. Pretty cool app!
|
Fish Tycoon. So far, the app I've spent the most time on.
