NFL Playoffs

Well, for those of us that are sports fans this is a really fun time of the year. Being from Minnesota of course my favorite team is the Vikings and I really like our chances to get to the Super Bowl this year. Now we face the Dallas Cowboys after they ran The Philadelphia Eagles out of town yesterday. I'm a little worried about the Cowboys I must admite this game makes me somewhat nervous. Now the other incredibly good news I got yesterday as a Viking fan is that the Green Bay Packers were beaten!!:blob2::blob1: What an amazing game it was though. And then in the AFC you had the Jets upsetting the Bengals and in much more of a surprise to me, not so much the result as the way in which it was carried out is the Ravens destroying the Patriots at home no less! So now we have the divisional round and the pairings look like this:

Saturday: NFC, Cardinals at Saints.
AFC, Ravens at Colts

Sunday: NFC, Cowboys at Vikings
AFC, Jets at Chargers

I think the Cardinals Saints game is a tossup, I think based on the way they played yesterday the Ravens will at least cover if not outright win the game against the Colts
and on Sunday I think the Vikings will win but it will be very close and I think the Chargers should be able to handle the Jets.

GODDESS6 01-11-2010 06:22 AM

my son is rooting for the saints~
i'm rooting for the ravens~
my hubby is rooting for minnesota, tho he's a raider fan, raiders haven't done **** in years~

I was so happy to see Cinnci go this weekend. Here's to a Colts/Vikings bowl with the Vikings taking it all :woohoo:

sara1998 01-11-2010 11:59 AM

Don't count my beloved Colts out just yet. Baltimore might still hold a grudge on the team packing up and leaving in 1984, but we have some pissed off players because we weren't allowed to try for our perfect season. I think the Colts will go all the way!

See I have that same Superbowl happening, just with the COLTS winning it all! I heart Peyton :D

Minnesota aint gonna win I'm afraid:). I saw them get blasted by Chicago the other week and they really weren't too good. I can't see the Cowboys winning either but their cheerleaders are worth the admission.

The Colts are my tip to win. The best team by far!

sara1998 01-11-2010 06:09 PM

Yes! The Colts fans come out of the wood work!

Go Horse!!!

My mind says the Colts will win as well, but my heart screams Favre :xoxo:

YES! I'm a bit obsessed with Farve myself... Peyton is my first on true love though, so I gotta root for my Colts hahaha.

DavidMn 01-12-2010 03:05 PM

Quite honestly, I think the favorite to win would have to be the Chargers. They are the team playing the best and with the most confidence going in, having won I think 10 in a row to end the season.

FMlex 01-12-2010 03:27 PM

I know ILoveFM will hate me... ;)

But I've gotta say Ravens over Colts.

Actually, just as long as the Cowboys lose, I will be a happy camper.
Can.not.stand.them.

SAME HERE.

I watch them hoping they will lose.
Except for the last game vs. the Eagles.
It's weird pulling for the Cowboys.

Really? That's unexpected. I hate the Cowboys because I hold a grudge against their long forgotten super bowl victory over the Steelers. Why do you?

Forgotten? How could I forget. I was at that game. Capped off the week from hell. One of the starters on that Cowboys team lived directly across the street from me... lots of traffic during the day, parties every night.. just insufferable. And then they had to go and WIN THE GAME too.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, Diana Ross did the halftime show

Good enough reason for me! :)

Tony Romo is overrated, I hate their nickname ("America's team" -- gag).
I get a lot of crap for it because it seems that everyone in Texas (with the exception of maybe two-thirds of Houston) likes the Cowboys.
Obviously the Texans aren't as "famous" as the Cowboys...

I just miss the good ol' Oilers!!
Where's Warren Moon when you need him?
I digress...

We're mighty happy with our QB thank you very much! Hope we get to play each other in the AFC Championship game. It would be great to beat you guys 3 times in a row in the playoffs!

Street_Dreamer 01-13-2010 12:47 AM

One down, two to go. Now hopefully the Jets will take care of the Chargers and the Vikings will take care of the Cowboys... and after that hopefully the Saints/Cardinals will beat down old man Favre on their way to the Super Bowl.

Matt

OK, as an Eagles fan, you don't have to rub it in. And you should be nervous because I hate to admit it (& I hate those Cowgirls), they are HOT right not. I hope some team, any team, stops them though.

Anyway, I'm going with the Ravens now because I'm "Wacko for Flacco". I saw him play at the University of Delaware, & he's really quite good. If it wasn't for him, the Ravens wouldn't have gotten as far as they have. I'd love to see them beat the Colts.

Lee :)

I can't stand the guy, but Reggie Bush was on fiiiire today. Gotta admit.
Glad to see the Saints win big!

Now if only those pesky Cowboys could go down in flames tomorrow...

YES!! I was SO happy. Now, I'm hoping tomorrow that the Jets can pull off a win so the Colts don't play San Diego

Well, that other purple team won & since I despise the Cowgirls, it's all good. :)

Congrats to the Vikings & their win & for doing what the Eagles couldn't do. Hope they can keep winning. Farve looked awesome today.

I'll agree with you on that. I'm glad the Cowgirls are out.

Minnesota might be heading to Florida but it's only to watch:laugh: - you aint gonna win:laugh:!

FMlex 01-17-2010 06:18 PM

So so so happy that Dallas is out!! They got destroyed.
And I think Romo may pass up P Manning for most annoying crybaby quarterback (ie "where's the flag on that, ref?" or "c'mon guys, why aren't you protecting me?!" bull****, complete with whiny face).

Favre/Brees next week will be a great game!
I dunno yet who I'm rootin' for in that one...

Well, we don't have to worry about that now!!! :blob1:

Bring on the Jets!

It's like Christmas in Indy!

It was a great day. I loved seeing the Cowboys and Chargers go down. Now hopefully the Saints will take care of business and put Favre where he belongs.

The Saints are the only pre-merger NFL team never to have won a championship and they have never been to the Super Bowl.

If it comes down to Colts vs Vikings in the Super Bowl, who will you root for??? Your 40 year old husband or your 33 yeard old husband? That is the question.
