Who Is Your Favorite Backup Singer?

Pretty simple! Who is it???? Throughout all the years, many ladies have sung with Stevie- so who is your favorite?

My vote is Sara Fleetwood!

EnchantedKiwi 12-08-2009 07:21 PM

Lori. Cause i think Sharon is weird

And Lori looks so funny in the Crystal Visions DVD

goldustsongbird 12-08-2009 07:42 PM

J-J-J-J-Jana.

:p

equeen102289 12-08-2009 08:34 PM

Lori, all the way. There was a time that Sharon was my favorite but just like Stevie she lost that special sound she used to have, and Lori is the only one who kept hers. Her background vocals on Beauty and the Beast still sound the same as they did in 1983. Plus she's got an awesome personality and I hear she's a blast to party with, so Lori gets my vote

LiamMcConville 12-08-2009 09:14 PM

Lori & Elisecia.

StreetAngel86 12-08-2009 09:35 PM

I say Lori
coz Shazza is just scary now
whomever posted that corpse bride pic a while back...yes

Jana still sounds annoying
i think her vocals died down a bit since SYW...but not much

I picked Sharon because she's the wickedest looking (although Lynn was the prettiest). Sharon & Stevie go together like blueberries & vanilla soy milk.

I also liked Carolyn based on the audio I have from 1983. She sang "If Anyone Falls" backups like a screaming banshee. Exhilirating.

Ms. Wright had a wicked voice on the 1986 tour, but it was just a flash-in-the-pan moment.

For whatever reason, for me, Lori has always been the most intriguing of Stevie's singers.

vivfox 12-08-2009 10:28 PM

Mos Def Sara Fleetwood. The BEST backup singer Stevie ever had. IMHO.

mylittledemon 12-08-2009 11:05 PM

Going with Lori 'cause she just seems wicked cool.

I second that emotion.

I don't think I have a favorite really, but Lori on Nightbird is wonderful.

At concerts, I do always enjoy the part where Sharon comes in on Edge.

I agree with you on Sharon's backup vocals on EO17. I love them!

However my favorite backup singer has to be LORI! She has such a pretty voice, and as Alexa said she's very intriguing to me. I love her haha.

I would love to hear the clips of her singing that lead you to make this choice! Please post! :D:rolleyes:

lacesundone 12-09-2009 02:55 AM

Sharon ALL the way. There is no other Back-Up singer. I would love to read an autobiography by Sharon. I think it would be interesting... Also I don't really like Lori's answers on nicksfix... Just my opinion.

wildheart048 12-09-2009 04:17 AM

I had to vote for Sharona, but I love Lori too...Jana leaves me kind of cold...I did like Mindy alot, as well...

EnchantedKiwi 12-09-2009 04:18 AM

Everyone hates Jana :laugh::laugh:

nailatixela 12-09-2009 06:17 AM

I voted for Ms. Wright. I also really like Lori. I'm happy Sharon and her stayed with Stevie for so long. What makes you guys vote for Marilyn or Sara? (no offense, just wondering)

BellaDonna93 12-09-2009 08:00 AM

Lori and Sharon, of course :D But I love Jana too :)

Had you been lucky enough to see the Street Angel Tour live, you would know what I mean. Sara's voice was absolutely amazing. And she sounds the most like Stevie than any of the other ladies. So you had Stevie's vocals backed with the powerful Sara vocal which created an enormous, full textured sound.

Let me take you down cause I'm going to, Strawberry fields, nothing is real, nothing to get hung about, Strawberry fields forever.

AgeOldDesire 12-09-2009 08:28 AM

I gave Elisecia the sympathy vote as I didn't expect her to get any votes. However, she did add an understated sass quotient to the RAL tour. Thanks to Bob Dylan for loaning her out.

Doesn't Annie McAloon (sp?) get no love for her b/u on "Sara?"

Annie McLoone

Look for her album Fast Annie that came out around 1974 or so...she covers "Spare Me A Little Of Your Love" on it. After listening to it again a couple of years ago, it sure seems as though Sheryl Crow must've owned the album at one point and wore out the grooves.

fleetwoodtrick 12-09-2009 11:56 AM

Aw jeez. I can't pick between Sharon or Lori... GAH. But a younger Lori kind of remind me of my mom.. same with Stevie. But only in some pictures. Unforunately, I resemble neither.

I'm going with Lori.

LikeAWillow 12-09-2009 12:56 PM

Sharon. There was a time in my life when I was almost more obsessed with her than with Stevie. She's just so dark and interesting. I want to go out for drinks with her and her vampire friends.

That's cool. Any examples on a song where she really stood out? I kind of like a voice a little different than Stevie's, that still complements her at the same time. Her voice was so strong on the SA tour anyway, even if Sara was there or not.

camchristo 12-09-2009 03:26 PM

^Yeah. It didn't work out so well. If you would have stashed it where I stashed my camera, you would have been golden.

I remember we were contemplating telling Marissa we got it in and got it to Sharon just so we wouldn't have to disappoint her. :D

belladonnadream 12-09-2009 04:26 PM

Lori all the way...love her...she has a sweetness that I love and is very nice too.

Musicman408 12-09-2009 05:02 PM

Ahhhhh that's right, I forgot you all were at the Youngstown show!!! Our paths didn't cross, did they???

I love you guys so much.

Can we just recap what I put into that basket? A mixed cd, a box of chocolate covered pretzels....and a $25 Starbucks giftcard.

What was wrong with me at 17?

chriskisn 12-24-2009 07:02 PM

Lori. She's by far the hottest of the backup singers...
