After the Glitter Fades Video

Somewhere I have a very old video tape I bought at a record show in the 80's with a bootleg "official" video of After the Glitter Fades. It was Stevie on stage with red (I think) curtains behind her. It was very simple, just Stevie's not-so-accurate lip sync to the track and a few different camera angles. The version I had was very, very grainy. Does anyone else remember this? I searched you-tube but couldn't find it.

Haunted_Song 11-27-2009 04:23 PM

I think it's from German TV...I have it on an old videotape, too. I was thinking about posting it on YouTube because I don't think many have seen it (???)

Please telling me she was wearing a peasant blouse, a long denim skirt with rhinestone detailing and cowboy boots!

Let me add my voice to those clamoring to see the bad German lip-syncing.

...I'm completely serious

Stevie has a meet and greet once a year in Los Angeles and they sell them there.

What? I thought Stevie hates people obtaining her 'unseen' work

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You gave my secret away! ;)

I've been collecting Stevie for a long time and have accumulated a lot of stuff over the years. I will look for my best version of this and get it uploaded. I don't think the quality was great, but I believe it's "watchable".

Alicia, you gave me this in 1996. I have it in a box somewhere, too....

mikebise 01-01-2010 03:09 PM

Yes, this is me talkin' to ya!

Mike Bise from Dallas on Facebook!

vivfox 01-02-2010 10:02 AM

I know this isn't the one you are looking for, but maybe this will be enough to hold you over until the original one is posted.

SeattleMark 01-02-2010 12:57 PM

OK so I'm not crazy! It's been years. I had a huge box of vhs tapes that was thrown away and that's one thing I haven't seen come up on youtube. There were also at least 3 versions of an Edge of Seventeen video (really bad) and alternate Stand Back Tara versions and a different (I think better) video of Talk To Me. I've seen a few of those on youtube a while back. I also had an audio tape of a very old interview of Stevie with Robin.

This is a longshot, but a few others I'd like to see:

1. Pittsburgh 1986 news clip of fans waiting for tickets (I'm in it with friends)
2. A friend of mine videotaped me talking to Stevie in a hotel lobby. I asked her if she got the flowers and she said, "the pink ones? yes, thank you they're beautiful" or something like that . . .

Anyone have this?

mikebise 01-02-2010 01:05 PM

I know I have the Street Angel hotel clip. Maybe the 1986 one, too. But definitely the 1994 clip.

There are alternate video edits for:

Stand Back

I Can't Wait

Talk To Me

Sometimes It's A Bitch

Seven Wonders

petep9000 01-02-2010 03:20 PM

Mike was there ever a 'No Questions Asked' video shot? I remember reading somewhere in 1988 that FM was going to be shooting one, but I've never heard anyone ever mention any cuts of it circulating around.

Oh great it is you Mike.....this is , Sue, from Michigan...recall me?? I so loved your fanzine....I always wondered what happend to you....I missed your fanzine after you'd stopped it. I didn't get 'online' til
'01 so info was still hard to find....not like now.....I'm surprised you didn't do your own web site....one of my favorites back when I first started was....'sararhiannon'...it had such wonderful info(long gone now :(..).how are you? I don't do facebook or anything like that....I don't have the patience for that.....what do you think of what Stevie/Mac have done since I last read your fanzine?? I always loved reading your thoughts.....I still have all of your fanzines too.....sometimes its nice to go back & read them the 'old' fashioned way....ya know....could I email you sometime? I'd do a private message with my email....I do hope all is well with you.....you were always such a wealth of info on Stevie/Mac.......take care.....

mikebise 01-02-2010 04:40 PM

Sue, emailing you now!

John, I've never seen one, although I heard one was filmed for "No Questions Asked".

Other videos I hear Stevie filmed were for:

Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind

Unconditional Love - 100% sure about this!

Nightbird

Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?

Listen To The Rain 1991

Long Way To Go

Now, since I've never heard of anyone having these, I'm not positive (except for "Unconditional Love"; an incredibly close source vouched it for me). However, I also NEVER believed there really was a Stevie video of "Blonde in the Blue T-Bird", but now that I have it, I believe almost everything is true.

Hell, I'm still looking for Stevie performing "Nightbird" on the Lou Rawls Telethon from January 1984! I believe!!!! :)

I am working on getting a bunch of my old videotapes (there are hundreds!) transferred to DVD...it's just taking me awhile! I will put this on the top of the list and upload it as soon as I can. ;)

Those sound so great...I'd always heard about the one for Nightbird....LWTG would be like so awesome.....Now I love the original LTTR from 91 I like those verses/lyrics much much better than the SA version...at least IMO......cool....!! I wish these would be released one of these days....that would be totally awesome!!!! Wouldn't it!!!

Liam, I'd love to post it, but I don't have it on DVD or computer, only on VHS. This is the version with the Dragon behind the curtain, and some extra shots of Stevie.

I have all of those other alternate edit videos as well on VHS. "Stand Back" has a few extra different shots of Stevie, but "I Can't Wait" is much better, I think!

Oh, and the Japanese "Sometimes It's A Bitch" has SO MUCH extra Stevie!!!!

Yeah....the SIAB japan is awesome. I think someone put the Youtube video here at one time....Stevie with a fan...thats awesome....why didn't they give us that version here?? very strange really??? Whats the Dragon version? song? Isn't the I Can't Wait Uk version longer as well??? Just wondering?? I always liked the part of Stevie with the tamb and the white shawl in the ICW video....we don't really see enough of that IMO anyway.....:D

I have the stuff Mike is talking about (we've shared over the years :D) so I can post it once I get it transferred from video.

Phil 01-03-2010 05:52 PM

Stevie also filmed a clip for "Reconsider Me" in early 1998 but to my knowledge, it has never surfaced.

APerfectLie 01-06-2010 04:32 AM

I think Stevie is saving all these unreleased videos for her NEXT greatest hits CD, which she will name "Dreams and Chains: The Very VERY Best of Stevie Nicks". And of course nobody will want another copy of Stand Back, Edge of Seventeen, Beauty and the Beast, I Can't Wait, Leather and Lace, and Stop Draggin My Heart Around, but we sure as hell will dish out the 20 bucks for the videos and a demo/live versions here or there. Why make new albums when you can keep making greatest hit's albums with the same ten songs and a few extra vids and mixes?!
