FM - The Movie

Ok, there has been alot of 'who should play who' talk. This thread is for the whole band. here is my list.

Mick - Ricky Gervias (lol, but could work)
Stevie - Reese Witherspoon
Lindsay -Bradley Cooper
Christine - Toni Collete
John - Patrick Dempsey

Look, I know the whole Ricky Gervias thing might not work, just imagne him with a beard! (and stilts)

Haha Ricky Gervais is way to short

hmm partrick dempsey for John! i dont know about that

I should start writing this film myself.

PS... Brian Dannelly and his agent have been busy with his own project, so my current movie is in limbo with him right now. I know Burr Steers has read it too. Never got a "pass" from him so there's hope yet!

Can I help - although I am 14, I a published author.
This is my vision for the opening sequence.

World Turning plays.
A clip of Stevie getting ready for her waitress job starts, then twines to the 'old' band getting ready for a gig.

mylittledemon 11-22-2009 05:06 AM

Incredible! We should collaborate. I've got Final Draft and a vivid imagination...

Sanne2 11-22-2009 06:47 AM

Forget Reese Witherspoon! One of these girls should play Stevie,
either Mae Whitman (1988):

or Allison Lohman (1979):

cristochango 11-22-2009 09:14 AM

for this movie I think they need a no name cast to do it.
I think thats what the mac would like better.
And I think we'd dig that a lot more cuz we're not gonna have any negative stigma's towards whichever actors play who

Lala 11-22-2009 12:05 PM

Ooo...agreed about Mae Whitman

TrueFaith77 11-22-2009 01:10 PM

i will not budge. steven strait must play lindsey. and the other actors are way too old (untalented and ugly) that are being named. is this the story of the mac in 87?

as for the opening:

Ext. The CA sun is setting.

Int: A group of kids are talking. Boys and girls whispering. The camera catches one young man with dark hair and an overemphatic smile, showing off, playing guitar and beginning to sing "California Dreaming". Some girls are watching him. One of them--a blond who shines like a beacon--breaks off to join him. They harmonize and command the attention of everyone present. Freeze-frame. At the end of the song, they introduce themselves and we hear their names: "I'm Lindsey / I'm Stevie."

Subtitle (over the freeze frame): Lindsey and Stevie would not meet again for two years.
Subtitle 2 (appears under the previous subtitle): Meanwhile, on the other side of the world. . .

"Black Magic Woman" kicks in for a black-and-white title sequence that summarizes the history of Fleetwood Mac up until. . .

Oh, and the movie will be titled Dreams

...and I actually would love someone to collaborate on a mac screenplay. but my ideas are kinda... jungian.

I can't think of anyone who could really be right for the part to play Stevie. Not even Reese. Not to mention Reese wouldn't look a thing like her. Not even with brown contacts in. Playing June Carter was one thing and sounding like that, but she doesn't sound like Stevie at all. She done that part so well because she is a country girl at heart. I don't think she could pull off the whole rock star thing.

You joking? He looks like he should be in the Twilight cast. Waaaay too pretty.

fringed n fab 11-22-2009 02:14 PM

I think my vote goes for Bradley Cooper looking the most like Lindsey. I don't see the Steven Strait thing at all.

Meowi 11-22-2009 02:16 PM

Wow, this movie has so much potential!

And a quick IMDB search tells me she's only 5"2. Perfect! All she needs is her eyebrows plucked into that really thin 70's style Stevie sported, and the Rumours hair, but that's all minor.

APerfectLie 11-24-2009 05:59 PM

Am I the only one who thing Joely Richardson would make a great Christine?

Apparently.

Christine?? Cate Blanchett, naturally...with Helen Mirren as the "elder" Christine. (Helen & Christine are close to the same age)

rocknalittle 11-24-2009 06:27 PM

I have thought about it, and I think Jennifer Love Hewitt would make a wonderful Stevie, the big brown eyes, the lips, the skin, THAT NOSE!!! All she would really have to do is get a great dye job! I think for Lindsey, Stephen Paul Rudd could do well! As for the rest of the band, I really have to Stand Back and think about it.

Hope it's cool to revive this thread.. and quote from the Lindsey one :D
I just have to say I can't believe I never noticed the resemblance before...
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of my favorite shows. I wonder if he could pull it off though? I've never seen him in any other role.. not sure what kind of range he has.

Also, would we want a movie like Walk the Line, where the leads actually sing? Or a film like Ray, where it's lip-synced?
If it's the latter what about Michelle Williams for Stevie? Not a whole lot like her.. but I think she's a good actress and close enough

I agree about Glenn Howerton. I saw a movie he was in and even my husband pointed out that from the side, that guy looks like Lindsey in the vid for Holiday Road. I didn't realize this was the same guy everyone was talking about until today. If he didn't want to play LB, I like what rocknalittle posted, that Paul Rudd would be good.

erwk05 01-23-2010 06:17 AM

Lindseys Role

I think an early Mickey Rourke (like in the 9 1/2 weeks era before he went ugly) would go great as lindsey :)

I had to go look up a picture to remember what he used to look like!!

ButterCookie 01-23-2010 02:27 PM

I agree about Allison Lohman, she'd be an amazing likeness for Stevie. Not that f*ing Lindsay Lohan who wanted to *shudders at the thought*

Meg and Allison are good choices. Reese...not so much.

I highly doubt Ladyhawke would be into acting, but she reminds me of a punk version of Stevie.

I agree. I can't see Reese as Stevie. Although, Reese can pull off a tough girl. She has been in so many sappy romantic comedys that some people forget she used to do dark/edgy roles in her early career.

I really wouldn't want Ladyhawke in the role though, since she isn't an actress and wouldn't do it anyway. However, she reminds me of a punk Stevie. If she was an actress I could see it since she favors her in some ways....like the hair.

Humm Luke Perry...I did a google search on him since I haven't seen him in awhile and I can see it. He could pull off Lindsey, esp now that his older.

I agree about Lindsay....I do think she can act, but there is no way she could pull off Stevie. Not in looks or stage presence; if her AMA performance (of Edge) was any indication.

Meowi 01-29-2010 05:49 PM

You are going to laugh, but I think if Ricky Gervais's friend Stephen Merchant put on some weight and had long black hair, he would make a perfect Mick.
