Crescent Moon ?

Hey everyone... I was gonna post this in the Wild Heart ring thread, but saw that the thread was closed. Btw, thats probably the most awkward thing i've read in awhile.

Anyways: I, like so many others, am being Stevie for Halloween, does anybody know where I can find a crescent moon necklace that looks similar to the one Stevie sports that isnt ridiculously expensive.

I have found the gorgeous imitations for over 100 dollars, but I am a college student on a budget, so I was looking for something more like fifty...

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks, Addison

Barbara has a $50 on Enchanted Mirror if you want to risk it... it's sterling silver:
http://stores.enchantedmirror.com/-s...vie/Detail.bok

Otherwise, I would try eBay or etsy.com

Sorry you felt the Wild Heart Ring thread was awkward. I didn't intend for it to go that far.

I would totally recommend Camias Designs, I've never heard a bad word about Kelly who hand makes all the jewellery. I have a crescent moon from her and it arrived quickly (I'm in the UK) and is beautiful. I wear it all the time, plus it really does look like Stevie's.

http://www.camiasdesigns.com/

This is a direct link to the crescent moons themselves, you can get them made in silver, gold or white gold but the gold ones are more expensive. The silver one is $32.50 without the chain, which isn't too bad I think.

How big are they? They look relatively small which is what i was going for... I want to be able to wear it again casually and not have it look ridiculous?

Thanks for your help, as well :)

It is small, about 3 cm long or about an inch and a half in length. I'd say it's around the size Stevie wears herself. I wear it casually all the time.

Edit: I hope Jazzy doesn't mind me using this picture but you can see the size of the crescent moon in this photo, although Jazzy's is extra special because it is "bejewelled".

I have one from Camias as well and it's not too big at all. I've been wearing it for about 4 years now, have never taken it off and it still looks fine.

I remember them being cheaper back then though...

Thats so gorgeous!!! I ended up getting the pyramaid AND the crescent moon :)

I want those moon cuffs soooo bad, they are awesome too!

~GoldDustWoman~ 09-22-2009 07:38 PM

Mmmh as I read one time online try Wiccan online stores also or maybe a new age store. I myself don't wear a crescent moon but I want to get a pentagram with the moon phases around it. Although I love her crescent moon necklace especially the one like I lanyard (I think) not sure how to describe it i've only seen it once.

It's coming the first week of October. :) SO excited. I have the black platforms now and I'm just waiting for the velvet legwarmers, the double chiffon skirt and a black, low backed leotard with chiffon sleeves added. :D

So, we'll see pics of this costume right? I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Oh trust me, there will be pictures everywhere :) Think Rhiannon Rosebud crossed with Mirage. I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself.

of course I don't mind...I'm loving that picture right now.

AddieJean - I think Camia's are actually the closest to Stevie's you can get. the size is almost perfect. it's beautiful and light and very affordable. you'll really enjoy it. I wear mine every day...I only bring out the bejeweled one for special occasions.

I have been trying to find a silver platted one that's not so expensive. Maybe 15-25.00 is all I would like to spend.

Me too :( I've searched everywhere. The internet, malls, craft fairs, county fairs, you name it. Is it really that hard? I want a pyramid too.

There's a moon phase pentagram at www.azuregreen.com.I think it was 35.95. If you go to the website, type "moon phases pentagram" in the search box. I've ordered from their catalog a lot and have had no major problems.

~GoldDustWoman~ 09-28-2009 07:46 AM

I used to get their magazine back when i first started out. I saw one in a head shop/new age store, for 35 bucks and my friend said we could find it for cheaper. I guess not... :(

Oh...it's my sister of the moon LOL! :wavey:

holidayroad 09-28-2009 07:59 AM

There's a less detailed one for 25.95. There may be other sites with this jewelry, but I usually go to one I trust!

I went to the website to just look around and fell in love with her stuff! I'm ordering the silver moon with chain and hoping my daddy will buy me the diamond sparkley moon for my upcoming birthday. I would buy it myself but it's just so expensive!

GypsySorcerer 09-29-2009 07:04 PM

I received my moon and pyramid today from Kelly. Both are lovely! I will definitely order from her again in the future.

Aw nice!! You'll love it!! And I hope your Dad gets you the diamond one too! That one is beautiful also! Her stuff is beautiful, and she's really good about shipping fast!

xoxoxo

daniellaaarisen 10-04-2009 04:56 AM

I want the gold one. I am either going to sell my soul on eBay STAT or make Marissa bring hers to California over Halloween weekend. :D

~GoldDustWoman~ 10-04-2009 09:33 AM

That was a shout-out to Arlene, and Holiday. You two are my Sisters of the Moon! ^__^

fleetwoodtrick 10-04-2009 11:17 AM

Yesterday, my mom and I were at my mom's friend's jewelery store, and I asked if she had a half moon pendant. Unfortunately, all she had were earrings, and even though my mom offered to buy them for me, I refused to budge on the pendant thing. She does have another box to unpack, and she's got some jewelry vendors too, so she said she might be able to dig one up for me. IHOPEIHOPEIHOPEIHOPE!

Glittermoondust 10-04-2009 03:55 PM

Oh how I am soooooo very happy that I got my gold cresent moon before the prices went so sky high on gold--I don't think I paid much over $100 for mine  I have the silver moon and pyramid also-- I just wish they were a little thicker like the gold moon I have. How much is the diamond one going for?? I'm sure I can't afford it but am curious

Hey,
what about the bail, what do you recommend - hidden or on top? and does anyone have the "double tube bail" option?

DeeGeMe 11-07-2009 09:36 PM

Both of mine have the hidden bail and my gold one has the double bail--which I prefer (i ordered my silver with just one).
