In the past, they were pretty much just straight re-issues of the original release, nothing extra....put the two Pointer Sisters albums that I got from them earlier this year DID have additional tracks, so we'll see!

wildheart048 09-18-2009 05:30 AM

Wow! I cannot believe this? Awesome, though! I wish they did it as a 'twofer' with the Blue Yonder album! But I don't mean to sound greedy! : )

marinnette 09-18-2009 07:21 AM

how come???!!!! that made my day, I absolutely LOOVEEE that album! :D

does that mean that something is moving in former modern records? maybe this is a step to get some stevie nicks records like wild heart, for exemple.

im so happy!

DWIG 09-18-2009 09:14 AM

Cd

It would be great to own the officially released CD of this album - as i bought it when it first came out (as an import!) and have loved it ever since.

I also bought the Blue yonder album when it first came out and wouldf love that on CD too

(I have the original vinyl copies of the albums and the copies that have been floating around for years - but don't think CD was ever officially released on CD!)

Wounded Birds catalog is, for the most part, pretty obscure......but they did reissue the three Bangles albums from Columbia, so you never know! (Their main emphasis DOES seem to be WEA product!)

Musicman408 09-18-2009 11:16 AM

Oh, I love this!! How great!!!

marinnette 09-18-2009 12:29 PM

we are hungry for re-issues!

jedw 09-18-2009 06:40 PM

Hope i can get a copy of that over here in England, I could listen to the guitar solo on the title track all day

Hartbreakkid 09-18-2009 07:27 PM

It was the follow up to Steve Martin's Cat Juggling.
Catdancer and Cat Juggling were banned because of PETA.

Steviefan49 09-18-2009 10:09 PM

I'm SOOOO excited to hear about this, and can't wait to get it!!

Cool news!!

For those of you who don't have the album, JazmenFlowers kindly uploaded it on her blog a while ago and the link is still good - find it here (It's her very first entry):

It's an album from 1984 by Sandy Stewart, Stevie's friend who co-wrote and played on many songs on The Wild Heart (such as Nightbird and If Anyone Falls). She also wrote the Fleetwood Mac song Seven Wonders and Too Far From Texas from Stevie's Trouble In Shangri-La. Catdancer was her debut album and Stevie sings two songs with her on it, most notably the duet I Pretend. It's never been on CD (only vinyl) before that's why people are excited.

Can't wait to listen to it!

markolas 09-22-2009 09:22 PM

Wow - they can reissue this POS but not decent-sounding versions of Mirage, BD, or TWH? The mind boggles...

WEA still owns the rights to those albums, so it's up to them, not Wounded Bird (Wounded Bird pretty much just reissues albums that have been cut out).

Oh, and while some of it may sound a tad bit dated......CAT DANCER is FAR from a POS!!!!

JazmenFlowers 09-24-2009 08:02 PM

oh my god, I love Cat Dancer as much as I love any Stevie solo album so this makes me very happy!

He's never been an ass, to my knowledge. He has always been a (no, not storm) wit & a wag & an essential aspect of my Ledge experience.

belladonnadream 09-25-2009 02:11 PM

This is both surprising and very cool! I've had the album for ages but this will be cool to have on CD!

Fannymac 09-25-2009 04:51 PM

Maybe, just MAYBE, an old promo photo will now FINALLY pop up!!!!:]

Left off the last verse. I don't know anything about chords though so I'm not sure if they repeat again:

And when you're old with time's demands
You can be my teacher, I'll be your hands,
Play the part,
Stop for nothing but to have you hold me,
Precious heart,
If I accept what cannot be,
No longer count on destiny
A dream won't die, a love won't end
'Cause you're forever mine
When I pretend

Sorry, no extras - I thought they'd include the soundtrack
song from White Nights, but it didn't happen.

Besides, that CD is still in print anyway, so at least you can
still get the song.

Will it be remastered or just put on a c.d. with the same quality as the vinyl -just like all the bootlegs?

Wounded Bird's sound quality is good- I 'm sure it's from the original masters - but there's really no extra effort put into their stuff!

Sahara 10-22-2009 05:56 PM

Wow, I'm really surprised but delighted to hear this! I've really enjoyed what little I've heard on CatDancer ... looking forward to hearing the rest!
