If you could ask Christine ONE question, what would you ask?

And if she absolutely had to be honest:

Do you ever read this fan forum?

brysondt 08-17-2009 02:03 AM

I would say:

Christine--you are very interesting and hilarious to me--can we go out for drinks later and make fun of other people?

Love this question-- she seems like the type of person I would want to sit on a bar balcony with, drinking martinis and smoking stogs while talking about how ridiculous everyone ELSE is.

I would say "can I have a go on your scooter?"

and

"what was so f*ckin stupid about Ken's shirt?"

Really, why didn't you come back to Fleetwood Mac, even just to record?

Did you ever sleep with Lindsey Buckingham?

Can you teach me how to be a better keyboard player?

Cornflake Girl 08-17-2009 09:17 AM

What do you think of my shirt?

Really! I can't be expected to remember every last thing!

No

jbrownsjr 08-17-2009 03:50 PM

Did you and Stevie ever have sloppy naked sex up there in Sausalito?

Ok, maybe I wouldn't have the balls to ask that... but it's still funny...

LikeAWillow 08-17-2009 06:39 PM

Do you ever imagine what your life would have been like had Buckingham Nicks never joined and changed Fleetwood Mac? Do you ever regret that they did?

Sounds like my kind of thing. ;)

Here's mine

Did you or did you not participate in the discussion and/or decision to diss Bob Welch when it came to his inclusion in the HOF for FM? Not that I give a rat's ass about the HOF or the clowns who run it, but the part that pertains to Bob's exclusion I do.

Hilarious stuff! funny funny funny! (especially the Lindsey answer ... just what the question deserves)

My question would be so d*rn serious:

"Ms. McVie, did you ever face any sexism or discrimination because you were a female musician in a blues and a rock band at a time when women just were not musicians in bands? If so, how did you handle it? And how have you come to terms with the fact that you hardly ever get any credit for being one of the first women to be a musician/singer/songwriter in a mixed gender band?"

David 08-18-2009 11:13 AM

I'd ask Chris why the heck she was playing a Roland EP-10 in the old promo footage. It's been bugging me for years.

aleuzzi 08-18-2009 11:40 AM

Will you record another album?

Those are great questions, especially the last one. I've wondered what she thinks of that too. I remember in some radio interview from around the 80s, the presenter making a comment about her being a pioneering woman in a blues/rock band and she kind of acts like she just realised it herself. She says something like, 'I suppose I was, well there was Sandy Denny and Judy Collins but yeah I guess I was one of the only instrumentalists'

Not getting credit from the masses for writing ''Songbird'' (my flatmate swore blindly Eva Cassidy wrote it until I got my Rumours record out) is probably what irks her the most!

My question would be-were you & Stevie ever really friends and did you genuinely like her, or just tolerate her??

She's often answered questions similar to this...My understanding was that at one time they were fairly close--in the 70s, on tours, etc...But then she became estranged from Stevie in the 80s. She was quite vocal about Stevie living in a fantasy world of her own making: "We dont socialize much," she said. But by the end of the 80s, she and Stevie appear to have become close again, as they had the common task of fronting the new band and clung to each other for strength and mutual sympathy.

I don't imagine, however, they'd have become friends at all had they not been thrown together.

That's infuriating! You must have got quite a bit of satisfaction from getting the record out..haha

Especially in my case! FM is my fav band, and yet when I heard Eva's cover of it I thought, for whatever reason, that it sounded pre-70s and must surely be the original! Needless to say I felt pretty embarrassed when I learned the truth! Why did I ever doubt?!

You're forgiven... you must make a mix tape of Christine
