Japan 1977 Doc
Where can I watch this whole thing and where can I get the deleted parts that aren't in the whole thing? I see someone has posted clips on youtube and it looks really interesting...like Fleetwood Mac getting on their plane and other random stuff.
So...where do I watch this? Can I buy this? Does anyone have it that I can buy a copy from or something? |
I would also like to buy a copy if any one has one! :wavey:
|
I have a 2-disc DVD called Rumours: Behind the Scenes which includes:
-the Rosebud documentary -tons of backstage footage from Budokan 1977 (including Stevie doing her hair and putting on makeup) -the plane scene where Stevie acts like a flight attendant/tells Lindsey that he isn't in first class or whatever -a few songs from Budokan 1977 (Over My Head, YMLF, four versions of Rhiannon, Oh Daddy) -then randomly at the end of the second disc there's Silver Springs from Germany 1998 lol Altogether it's like three and a half hours and shows a lot of rare footage. Is this what you're talking about, Bryson? |

I will try to find where it is - hang on! EDIT: I found it!! Thank goodness it was easy to spot. LikeAWillow, did you download from throwndown.net? I'm not sure if it's different if you got it elsewhere, but nonetheless, I found it on the second disc right at the very beginning. Right when disc 2 starts, it's Mick going through Japanese customs. Then the very next scene after that is Stevie inside the airplane. She's goofing around saying stuff like, "We hope you enjoy your flight". Shen then goes on to tell Carol Ann that she looks like a stewardess lol and then she tells Lindsey that he's second class (which apparently he doesn't find too funny). Hope that helps! :) |
I have the dvd's and it's the best thing ever!!!! It was me who posted the new backstage videos on youtube, thanks for enjoying them :) I traded it with Sahara, Kathryn Lambe, at her trading site :) So you can do that :)

FMlex, that sounds like really cool stuff you have. Can I buy a copy from you?
Also...this has been really bugging me. Along time ago, when I was like 10, ha, I bought this vhs from ebay that had a lot of random stuff on it and I think my parents through it away, but there was this footage of Richard Dashut's birthday and there was a big cake fight or something. Does anybody know what I'm talking about, at all? I'm so mad I lost that tape! |

PM me with your physical address and I'll send you a copy! :) I haven't heard of that other tape though. Hmm maybe someone else can help you out there. |

I think I'm good to go on your address :) I'll mail 'em out to you two girls tomorrow. |
Do you guys realize you don't have to buy these dvds? You can get them for free if you can find the right trader.
|
Moz,
1. I did not buy these DVDs. Throwndown.net is a treasure. 2. I am not charging (nor will I ever) these people for a copy. |

I was doing them over the summer simply because I had the time and resources. Now I'm in college and it's not so easy to find blank DVD-Rs, the time to go to mail, etc etc. I hope someone else can help you out!! I have a month off for the Christmas holidays in December so hopefully I can do some stuff for you guys then because I really do love giving back. :) Quote:

I usually don't have patience for torrents but for stuff like this I just start the download, go to work and hope for the best. My friend is also currently trying to download it and said that it's only at 45% so unless someone else reseeds it we won't get the whole thing. Again, I don't know how these all work and I'm kind of not really interested in learning. ha ha.
My comp should be currently seeding LB Behind the Music and the Mirage show if anyone is interested. |
Have we ever discussed (at any length) what we think this footage was shot for? It seems to be something that the band had done just to internally document its Asian tour. It's very low tech, which is why I doubt it was intended specifically for the record company to use for marketing to the public (although parts of this footage were used in GOING HOME & some other broadcasts).

It is low tech, with amateur camera angles that fit into this "hand held" world today, but would not have been useful for any formal project back then. Michele |
