Vivica A. Fox not interested in becoming ’sugarmama’ to young suitors
 

Ani April 15th, 2009 WASHINGTON - Vivica A. Fox has never hidden her liking for young men, but the actress has set an age limit for her potential suitors, because she does not want to become a “sugarmama”.

The ‘Kill Bill’ star has admitted that she prefers dating younger men, and even flaunts her skills as an experienced seductress as host of new U.S. TV show ‘The Cougar’.

In the show, the 47-year-old actress helps an older woman find love with a younger man.

Fox has now confessed that her twenty-something suitors should be well established in their professional lives before she agrees to a date.

This is because she won’t like to pay the bill when on a date.

“You have to realise when they’re 27 and younger, you go from going from a ‘cougar’ to a ’sugarmama’ and that’s the number one rule: ‘We don’t do sugarmama,’” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

The cougar definitely came out to play on Friday night, Vivica Fox hit up Atlanta’s nightclub Primal where she made an appearance, and… Vivica… definitely utilized her free alcohol that was giving to her! According to various sources, she had more drinks than she can handle. “I seen her down drink after drink!” Vivica Fox looks so much older in these pictures… not as glamorous when she is on TV.

Damn, Viv is pushing forty five. She needs to go sit her old ass down somewhere, looking like the black Joan Rivers. She should have started a family…SMH

Whitney Houston's much-anticipated new album, I Look to You, doesn't hit stores until Sept. 1, but the singer gave a star-studded audience a sneak preview of nine songs on Tuesday night.

Diane Sawyer, Martha Stewart, Alicia Keys, Vivica A. Fox, and Oprah Winfrey's best friend Gayle King sat front and center at the listening party Tuesday night, hosted by Houston's longtime producer Clive Davis in New York City.

"It took us three-and-a-half years to reach this point," an energetic Houston told the crowd, which also included her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 16, mother Cissy, and cousin Dionne Warwick. When she spotted King, she told her, "Please tell Oprah I said hello."

Among Houston's new tunes are "Million Dollar Bill," written by Keys and Swizz Beats, which Davis described as "a feel-good song." (Keys stood up, danced, and recorded the scene while the song was playing.)

Davis also previewed two ballads reminiscent of Houston's classic hits, one written by songwriting legend Diane Warren ("I Didn't Know My Own Strength") and one by R. Kelly, who also penned the beat-heavy "Salute."

Houston also collaborated with Akon for "Like I Never Left," which Davis said was the result of her request for "a great island song." Afterward Davis said of Houston – whose last album was released in 2002 – "You realize how much we miss her."

And that was obvious during the final track, a cover of the 1970's classic, "A Song For You," which Davis revealed had only been "completed rough last night." Sawyer led the audience to their feet, and the dancing lasted as Houston took the stage.

In her brief remarks, Houston said her mother had told her, " 'I'm tired of the old songs on the radio. I'm tired of people taking off their clothes … I want to hear a beautiful lyric and a beautiful melody.' And I just hope that what you heard tonight, that's what you got."

I kept screaming out for her to sing HAEWAFY but she just winked at me and sang what was on her list.;)

The BET Awards last weekend were basically a three-and-a-half-hour tribute to Michael Jackson, as totally expected. But the celebration of his life kept going long after the show was over. All the award-goers drove out to Beverly Hills for the post-BET fete at Mr. Chow (sponsored by Heineken) to dish about their experiences working with or just dancing to M.J.'s tunes over the years.

Appropriately, the party only played Michael's music, since that's all anybody wanted to hear!

We spoke to Vivica A. Fox, who made a cameo in M.J.'s "Remember the Time" vid, still a classic today. "I miss his smile," was how VAF told us how she felt about the departed King of Pop, but didn't stop there:

How will you best remember M.J.?
That's a wonderful question to ask because there is so much to remember. For me, it's still the Motown 25th when he came out as a solo artist and did the moonwalk. There was no YouTube back then, but if there was, it would've gotten millions of hits.

Did you plan to see him perform in London?
I'm sure I would have. I was happy to hear he was ready to come back and that they embraced him. I thought it was really unfortunate that he had to go so far away to be appreciated.

Do you think the tour was too much pressure?
There's always been pressure to be Michael Jackson. Unfortunately that may have been one of the things that led to his demise. But we know Michael loved to entertain, and he always wanted to make everyone happy. Personally he may not have been as happy, but on that stage, that's when Michael experienced pure happiness and joy.

Should the more questionable parts of Michael Jackson's life—the molestation accusations, the eccentric behavior, the plastic surgeries—no longer be discussed?
It's over. We can no longer retry him. We can no more hurt him about it. We can no more belittle him. He's a legend. We should celebrate him. It is was it is. We all make mistakes.

Actress VIVICA A. FOX has shot down rumours she's dating hip-hop star FLO RIDA, insisting she vowed never to date another rapper after her split from 50 CENT.
Fox enjoyed a brief romance with 50 Cent in 2003, but the In Da Club hitmaker dumped her during a radio interview when photos of the pair from a private shoot appeared on the cover of a magazine - without his approval.
So the 44-year-old star is baffled by reports she's now in a relationship with Flo Rida, blaming the media for exaggerating a one-off meeting.
She says, "I met him at an event and the next thing you know we're 'together'. We're not. I learned my rapper thing the first time."
Fox, who was previously wed to singer Christopher 'Sixx-Nine' Harvest, has also ruled out any plans to remarry: "No (chance of marriage). It was too much damn paperwork."

Younger men can’t resist Vivica A. Fox, who recently celebrated her 45th birthday in Las Vegas whooping it up with Beyonce and Jay-Z backstage during her concert.

“Jay-Z popped a bottle of champagne and toasted me, and it was just great,” the actress, who appears in The N’s DeGrassi Goes Hollywood airing tonight at 8 p.m., tells me. She adds, “It was an intimate affair.”

At 39, Jay-Z may be married to the woman who made a Vivica birthday shoutout part of her show. But boyish single men certainly take a shine to the smart, sassy divorcee.

“Younger guys happen to be attracted to me, so I might as well enjoy it while they’re looking,” she says. “I’m very young spirited.”

What advice would she give other women who want to be cougars?

“If you’re dating someone who’s younger, you have to allow them their space to grow because a lot of experiences that you’ve already had, they’re gonna go through,” she tells me. “Don’t become a mom and tell them what they’re gonna go through. Just become their friend and have a great time with them, and let the relationship mature.”

Vivica calls herself “happily single.”

“Every morning when I wake up, whatever Vivica wants to do, that’s what we do,” she says. “I don’t have to answer to anyone. I’m having a great time in life. It’s not that I don’t want to be in a relationship or that I don’t want to date. Right now, I happen to be single, and I don’t have a problem with it. I’m not always searching. A man doesn’t validate me because I’m happy with me. It would be great if someone could be a plus to my life, but it’s hard. You have to learn to keep your dating life private until the relationship has become solid.”

She doesn’t want to be tripped up by Mr. Wrong.

“He’s gotta have his own identity and his own income and his own happiness. If he doesn’t have those three things, then please stay away from me.”

What advice would she give her younger self?

“Take your time getting to know people. People aren’t always what they seem to be or appear to be. People can put on different faces. Take your time to get to know people for professional and for personal, especially when it comes to dating.”

No one gets stabbed, no one is bullied, no one contemplates an abortion or suicide and no one ends up in a wheelchair. Not in this Degrassi special. This time, the usually angst-ridden cast gets to have some fun.

“It's a fantasy Degrassi ,” laughs Jake Epstein, whose character Craig in the long-running Canadian TV series left last year to shake a cocaine addiction in rehab. “It takes Degrassi into this insane Hollywood universe. It's crazy, crazy to see!”

In the new TV movie Paradise City: Degrassi Goes Hollywood , the cast leaves their Toronto troubles behind: Craig is living the good life in Venice Beach, Calif. Paige (Lauren Collins) works as a celebrity's personal assistant, but when she gets a big break in a musical, invites Ellie (Stacey Farber) and Marco (Adamo Ruggiero) to hang out at her Beverly Hills mansion. Unfortunately, the fame goes to her head, and Manny (Cassie Steel) decides to audition for Paige's role and heads to the City of Angels in a school bus “borrowed” from Degrassi High.

Throughout the film, heavy-handed fame-dropping gets under way quickly as the cast bump into notables such as celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, rocker Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, actresses Vivica A. Fox and Kelly Carlson, while filmmaker Kevin Smith makes a return engagement with his protégé Jason Mewes playing a key role. (Mewes gets the film's best line too, shouted at Paige the diva: “You're not a star, you're more like a circle.”) The perils-and-pleasures-of-Hollywood plot is terribly self-aware, and it's intentional. Many of the TV show's cast have already left for bigger things: Epstein plays the lead in the touring Tony-award winning musical Spring Awakening , Nina Dobrev stars in the highly anticipated fall TV series The Vampire Diaries , Aubrey Graham (a.k.a. A nonprofit network that prides itself on bringing shine to contributions of women in entertainment has tapped one of the greatest female MCs of all time to commemorate their first ever awards show. The WEEN, or Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network, will have their WEEN Award' show graced by the presence of MC Lyte. Maybe Paris Hilton has her own way of stimulating the economy. Hilton rolled up in a pink Bentley for the launch of Candy Ice Fine Jewelry by Lucy Kilislian at Prego in LA the other night.
She headed straight to the gifting suite, where she picked up $12,000 in free baubles in just a few minutes. An insider said, "Organizers wanted to gift Paris a diamond pendant, but she begged and begged to take the matching earrings, too."
