Tusk Documentary

Hi guys,

I know this is going to sound crazy but I'm finally going to admit it.... I've never seen all of the Tusk documentary! All I've managed to catch over the years are the various clips which come up on youtube every now and again, which don't amount to much. Probably about 20 mins in total.

Does anyone know of any site that I can download it from? Or view the whole thing online?I've tried throwndown but, try as I might, I just can't get the torrents to work. I've never been able to and I don't know why. It's driving me nuts!

If anyone can help me out at all I'd really appreciate it. Or if anyone has a copy they can email me as video clips, or burn to dvd or something, let me know. I will of course take care of any expenses etc...

Thanks everyone.

I'm right there with you - I haven't seen the entire documentary either.

So I'd like to hear what other people tell you because I need to get my hands on it!

If you look on sites like Amazon, people are wanting $125... for the VHS copy! Outrageous.

Dodfather 07-07-2009 10:00 AM

I know. It's ridiculous! Bear in mind that that's an NTSC copy as well so I can't even play that!

I've tried downloading the whole thing from veoh after I found it there through google but you have to download the player into your computer and then even after you do that it constantly says you need to update to watch or download it. I updated (why when I had just downloaded the programme I dont know) but even then it didn't work. The site is clearly dodgy!

Keep in mind that not all of the Youtube footage that crops up was on the actual documentary. So, even if you have that, you don't have it all.

Would you believe I actually gave that precious VHS to my best friend knowing I could re-watch it anytime cause we would be friends for life?
I haven't heard from her since 1997! Really though the only part on that tape worth saving and/or watching for me is the Angel in the studio stuff with Lindsey on the piano harmonizing with Stevie and the versions on youtube are better than what the band provided for us on the VHS. Oh and I really hate to admit this but the part where Christine is on her boat playing the worst song she ever wrote(Never Make Me Cry) is pretty cool too.

Please post when there is an interest in outdated or out-of-stock items. I just tossed a batch of VHS vids including several copies of the Tusk doc., released and unreleased versions, and a bunch of vintage Rumours/White Album rehearsals, BD mini-tour doc. and other things I didn't think anyone would want. More may come my way and now that I know there's still an interest I will gladly GIVE THEM AWAY. I'd rather have some one have them who'll appreciate them then throw them in the garbage. Sorry, I just figured w Youtube and all that everyone had access to everything.

What was the BD Tour Doc. about? Do you mean the WWD Concert tape?

Where did you download it from? I have lost track of my VHS somewhere through the years.

brysondt 07-07-2009 01:02 PM

I got it from that veoh site and then I converted it to a quicktime video.

You can download the Tusk Documentary from this torrent site (great audio and picture quality). I downloaded it some months ago and burned it to DVD. Good stuff.

Are you talking about throwndown.net?

If it's under Fleetwood Mac and then Documentaries, I don't see the Tusk doc there...? Am I just blind? lol Thanks for the tip though!

Yes, the link is to throwndown.net (go to Search Torrents, click the search tab and select Fleetwood Mac: Tusk Tour 1979/1980 and then scroll down and you'll see "Fleetwood Mac: Tusk Documentary & Live Concert).

Yes! I'd love a copy of this. Send me a private message and we can arrange things. I couldn't get veoh to work, as I've said, and torrents just don't seem to work with me either. I don't know what's going on!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Can someone help me with torrents? I went onto throwndown.net and found the link for the tusk doc. I hen clicked on download and the torrent was downloaded quickly onto my computer. When I opened that it opened limewire and after waiting for 3 minutes for sources it says 'Connecting...' and then nothing happens. This is what always happens with me when using throwndown. I've never been able to get anything from there.

Am I doing something wrong? There's so much stuff on throwndown and I just can't get it! Help!!!

Hi-have you downloaded utorrent or a similar torrent programme? That's the first step. Once you have the software you can download and start the process. The downloaded file will appear but it actually takes quite awhile to download the file. It takes hours or days for a documentary. I've heard that some files can take a week--utorrent shows the progress. I just started using throwndown and utorrent about 2 weeks ago and found my way using the help/faq on throwndown and some steps posted elsewhere on this site (do a search for torrent download). With the first file was trial and error as I had no idea what I was doing, but it didn't take long to figure it out--I've downloading 3 documentaries and an audio show. Brilliant finds.

Dodfather 07-08-2009 07:54 AM

Ok. I've now downloaded utorrent and it's on my computer. I've then clicked on the download link for the doc on throwndown and when the box came up I clciked save. It instantly downloaded to my computer as a limewire torrent called tusk documentary and when I clicked on that to open it utorrent opened and it's saying downloading from 2 seeds...

all well and good so far except that it says it's downloading at 0kb/s...so not downloading at all! I'm about to give up...

Did you luck improve at all? Perhaps one of the techie experts will weigh in.

I'm afraid not. Oh well, never mind. I'll see it at some point. Somehow!

nicepace 07-10-2009 03:39 PM

One more thing to keep in mind. Once you manage to figure it out and get started with torrenting, you need to leave uTorrent (or other torrent client) open on your computer with the torrent uploading (or available to upload), even after you have finished downloading the torrent. If you go ahead and burn a disk and delete the files right away it destroys your "share ratio" (meaning the amount you've uploaded compared to the amount you've downloaded). Many torrent sites are very touchy about it if your share ratio is low. (I had this experience with another site while I was learning the process.) So, once you've succeeded in downloading a torrent, leave it open on your computer until your share ratio is at least 1.

I use a bittorrent site called Tapecity, and it has a good FAQ that explains the process better than some other sites I've seen.

I'd LOVE a copy of the tusk doc! I will send you a PM.

I've downloaded veoh and it still sas that I need to update it to play the documentary. I updated it (God knows why because I had just downloaded it right then) and it was still telling me I needed an update. I've given up with veoh.
