Angel tusk outtake
I dont know about you guys. but from :54 to 1:26 makes me cringe |
Cringe? why? they don't. why should we? That's the way they worked together, whatever you may think about it, it worked. It resulted in a masterpiece.
|
i dont know. i feel embarresed for stevie haha
|
Stevie was a major airhead. There is a quality to her personality that probably elicits in other people the desire to be violent.
|
I think they're doing great work...
It's always hard to nail down harmony parts when the song is coming into fruition... A lot of times the person singing melody changes or gets sucked in.... it's not that unusual... |

Also, why wasn't CM playing that piano? |
Quote:
When I sang in a jazz vocal ensemble... I used to stand near the piano when I sang the baritone part... |
Thank you for posting. I haven't seen that in a long time and then again I have seen most but not all of it. Who has that entire outtake film? Anyone? I have one for the song Sara. Anyone want me to post it?

i looked at again, and at some more Tuskdocparts on youtube. It's interesting to see how stevie brings out the nitpicker in Lindsey and Lindsey brings out the freestyle-I didn't know what I just did-sloppyness in Stevie. They accepted that from eachother in these clips ,but it isn't hard to imagine how they could explode in streetfightbehaviour......
look at this one. priceless. |

And - you are right about the piano and harmony/vocal parts. LB seemingly plays well judging by this sniglet. |

they look smashed... surprise surprise... |
Gerald - I agree.
And, when they were on and being FM, they really were unstoppable as seen here: La Nicks's vocals are in the stratosphere, CM is a solid lead, and LB's guitar is sublime with Mick and John providing what they do best. Ah - that era! And - we see it in its infancy in relation to Tusk in these doc clips. |

I especially love that performance of "Angel" - aww! |

Yeah, it's funny - I just watched that Midnight specialclip with Why and OMH. Funny to see lindsey play with a pick! This version of Why always makes me cry. It's the most beautiful song she ever wrote. And I still think this is the ultimate version. |

How come I don't see your tears on the screen??:p |

And, she wrote some beautiful things - "As Long As You Follow" is another one of my fav.'s |

Sends me spinning into chiffonhead overdrive in a heartbeat. |
^^
I love that one too. I also, esp. love the tap dance punctuated with a hand clap at the end of the clip while they are in the studio  |

people on this board keep thinking in three camps. First of all I am a Fleetwood Mac fan. I became a buckhead through Tusk. ALL of Tusk. Not just those nine timeless sketches.

will you stop irritating the **** out of me? I've been trying too for quite a while. |
you know what 'Angel' footage I want to see unearthed again? From the 20/20 piece that FM was featured on during the 'Tusk' tour. They did a very short clip of Stevie singing "well track a ghost through the fog baybay..." and she looks just awesome. Why? Well, she dropped the Gibson-girl look and was wearing the short-sleave lace dress which I'm pretty sure is what she wore on the 'Mirage' cover, and she's got mounds of her bushy hair all pushed up in her hands in a very un-Stevie way. It's very sexy. And she ends the song with a loud a cappella "BABY!"
Bits of the 20/20 are on Youtube, but that part isn't. Thats a darn shame too. |

You know, that wasn't really sexy. So, I can't get my ga-ga on. Reminds me of an experience I had with a plumber and his low hanging tool belt. Not pretty. Michele |

ah forget it. If you don't understand what I mean, I guess I'm on another planet. Sorry. |

I've seen your comments about Hotness threads, the Cheri Caspari thread, etc. I know you think it's ridiculous when the comments veer into that strain and away from the art. I know why you re-focused the discussion. I wasn't writing, "boy that totally went over his head. Let me set him straight." I was daisy-chaining on your reply. Michele |

I can relate to that in the Stevie forum, the Chit Chat-forum, and even the soapopera-rumours forum, but in the lindsey buckinghamforum, I still think it is a weird balance. |

If you make a comment about the band, unless someone is baiting you, any follow up to that comment is likely to be about the band and not about you. If you don't want to be quoted, don't post. If you are going to post, don't assume that every reply you get is somehow questioning your IQ. Unless you are talking about yourself personally, odds are the replies won't be about you personally and what you know or don't know either. Michele |

I really don't know why you do this. |

I think the version of Angel that we see Stevie performing on stage in the Tusk documentary (from the youtube clip I've seen) has an AMAZING vocal. It gets turned into a real rock song...are there many mp3s of Angel performed live from this era?

http://www.sendspace.com/file/juykfz Instrumentally speaking, ANGEL onstage represents just about the best example of Christine's self-appraisal as a part of the rhythm section rather than a soloist. |
This is one of my absolute favorite favorite favorite songs!!! I just want to see it live once please Stevie...... with the beret ;)

I love Angel live. I like it much better live than in the studio - I like that it is faster live. It makes it more exciting, IMO. Angel was one of those songs that I didn't care for till I heard it live, then I got it. (even though I was not really there)
