"Summer Break" predictions?
So what do we think the Mac will be doing during the time period between the end of their North American tour, and their European dates? Will everyone scatter to their seperate homes and relax with family? Will they start noodling in the studio together or seperately perhaps? Or are they recharging for a possible worldwide Unleashed tour? Or will they just spend their time changing diapers?
I suspect everyone will run home to their families and spend time with their kids for the summer. I honestly don't see any "work" at all happening in regards to the Mac. If there were to be another album, I seriously doubt anything serious would beging happening until spring of next year at the earliest. We all know how they tire themselves out, and need massive breaks  . |

I don't see them working during the break at all. I bet they'll part and then get back together in September.
I just wonder what is going to happen after Europe. Anyway, I always recall Christine saying that they already said their goodbyes when the Dance was over and so when they went to the RRHOF ceremony afterwards, when it was over they just jumped in their separate cars and parted and didn't even say goodbye to each other again. That made me really sad to think about. Well, it still makes me sad. Michele |

But, then again, their whole history is that way so I don't know what I'm saying. |

At that point in 1998, even though they don't really talk about it, they might have been just a little upset and hurt with Christine. So, maybe that's why. I don't know. She never said they were. She just said that there was a bit of arm-twisting to get her back, but -- I think that hint of coldness may have been a reaction to her leavetaking, even though they had always known she wanted to go. People in show business slobber all over each other at the drop of a hat. It may not be common for me to hug and kiss my co-workers goodbye, but it seems very odd to me that FM wouldn't, especially when one of them was going to be in a different continent and they had no definite plans to see each other again EVER. I wonder if it felt just as if they were parting ways until they meet up in the studio for the next album (4 years down the road), like the old days. I guess if you aren't thinking this is the last time we will be together for a real long time if ever, it's easier to just casually say cya...
Oh... and I think they will sit at home and recoup for the Summer. Do the European thing in the fall and early winter, take xmas and part of January off... then head to Australia after the new year, maybe Feb. Kinda like they did the last time. |

I'm hoping to join the gang for some cocktails in Maui at the end of June ;)

I could understand this not wanting to tour business Christine was saying but that doesn't mean she couldn't be a studio musician for the band. And yea, I could get the whole fear of travel and flying thing, but these days with digital technology Fleetwood Mac could've recorded Say You Will in L.A. and then sent the tracks digitally to England for Christine to work her part in and vice versa. That kind of stuff happens all the time now and has actually been going on for a while. If you ask me, though, it was a real slap in the face when she came out with In the Meantime. What a ****.

I still don't know why you are at a fourm about Fleetwood Mac when you don't even like them. Don't you have anything else to do? Just wondering. |

And I love Fleetwood Mac. |

And wow. That's news to me. |

Do you come here to stir the crap, to piss people off, to LOOK for a ban AND to let yourself down? Or is it just one of the four every alternating visit? Enlighten us. |

Dissension is welcome and the Lady Gaga comments sparked an interesting musical discussion. Using offensive, vulgar terms to describe a band member will not. Please refrain. |

Time Out? 6/25 - 10/07?
Where will Fleetwood Mac be between these dates? In the studio???!!!???!!!

We're gonna send Stevie to a therapist to deal with her internet issues and then make her a moderator so she can come here and merge duplicate threads. :p

Mods know best , but I wish we could have started a new thread, NOT bogged down by the unpleasantness of this thread's first page. The question of what may transpire in the next three months, that's full of VERY interesting possibilities.
Yeah, so everyone else wants a new Fleetwood Mac album. yawn. I'll throw in a dissenting voice -- sure, I'd love to see them work on new material, but SEPARATELY, please! ducks quickly If Lindsey's happiest working on solo work where he has complete control, then for heaven's sake let him. Let Stevie shine as a solo artist -- and please, let her try some new directions, instead of more 70's Rhiannon/shawls&chiffon/magical/mystical imagery. Personally, I'd love to see her stretch out into a bluesy vein. Speaking of blues -- Mick! More of the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band PLEASE! Can you imagine the Beatles (if John & George were alive) still touring, doing I Wanna Hold Your Hand and She Loves You? Good heavens, they knew when it was time to go in their own different directions, eons ago. (I dunno, maybe it's because Beatles fans didn't live and breathe to see John and Paul giving each other googly-eyed lovestruck looks across the stage....) A new album, then. From each one of them. :D |

I should clarify....I didn't mean I want new solo albums written, recorded, and released in those 3 off months. ;) Lindsey would probably need three years at least, to make sure it's perfect (I'm a Virgo -- I appreciate the desire for perfection). It would be a real shame if he got a collection of new songs ready to go, and the Mac Machine commandeered them for use on a new FM album. Again.
I'd love to see a new Christine album, too, but it seems like making music just isn't her focus in life anymore. It would be a nice treat though. And I expect the only albums John will be doing will be photo albums of his boat. |

Mick said that his band would do more blues, that there would be a part two, but that he was caught up with FM for "quite some time" - whatever that means. |

Oh, and your problem with In The Meantime is what exactly? Idiot. |

Oh, and a new Christine album would be widely embraced by all! |

Back to the topic at hand. I agree Oldtimer, a new Lindsey album would be fun, but it'd take years at this point. I doubt he'd morph any current catalogue songs into another Mac album, given his recent comments on how that didn't work last time around (Stevie agreed too for what it's worth). While obviously they wouldn't record and release anything in 3 months, it'd be nice if they got together over the break and at least started seriously talking about it, did some jam sessions together, discussed thier visions, etc. But I know that won't happen. Honestly, another Mac album at this point is looking more and more like a pie in the sky dream. I very, VERY much hope it happens, but I just don't see it at the moment. |
Oh gosh a moderator already stepped in over a week ago. Let's move on to the topic at hand!
I don't think the band is going to do anything over the summer. Except take a break. ;) |
