She is so smokin' hawt in the Hold Me video. And, when she is sitting on the couch after the BB Award show - smoking

petep9000 06-04-2009 04:59 PM

I haven't seen that Stand Back clip in a long time, but never so clear. I think that performance might rank high in my list of whacked-out cokey Stevie. Which is not to say I think it's bad, in fact, I think it's delicious.

Stevie: "We wou..." *music begins playing* "WARNER BROS...THANK YOU!!"

These are so great. I loved, loved, loved seeing the Grammy footage. I'm going to have to go back and read Carol's book about that night again. Didn't she say something about how hot she looked compared to Stevie? Think again sweetheart. Stevie looked like a godess!!! Carol looked like a poodle with that hair.

jwd 06-04-2009 08:32 PM

These are the things I come here for! You guys come up with some AWESOME ****! Thanks for sharing these videos. I have never seen the behind the scenes shots of the "Hold Me" video, the '87 interview with MTV in its' entirety, or the Blockbuster interviews. I actually remember taping the Solid Gold performance and still have it on VHS tape somewhere. STEVIE NICKS! WHAT A CLASSIC!!!

LOL...that made me cringe for her... after she made all that effort at getting Lindsey to let her talk, they cut her off!

Enchanted_Stevi 06-04-2009 08:51 PM

These videos are AWESOME!
I especially love the Hold Me, Blockbuster, and Grammy award videos

Skyveris 06-04-2009 09:51 PM

Thank you for sharing these fantastic videos. I LOVE them all, especially the Grammy footage (Stevie looked breathtakingly beautiful -- and what a pretty smile). :blob2:

1987 post-show clip: It always makes me a bit sad to see Stevie in this period. She looked and acted so happy and healthy in that brief post-coke period before the Klonopin took over. What a beautiful smile......

Hold Me: The clip is fab, Stevie is fab, and you are fab for posting it! (As are the boys in their short-shorts and color-stripe knee-highs............)

Stand Back: Known this clip for a long time, but just noticed......Is Lori wearing Stevie's dress from the Stop Draggin' video? And 'LOL' Sharon's hair. Also, I can't help but assume that the guys in the band must've thought Brad was a real goober..........

trackaghost 06-05-2009 01:28 AM

God, the Hold Me behind the scenes footage makes me laugh. She can barely walk on the sand in those ridiculously high boots
She looks amazing in it though, and in the Solid Gold clip.

Anyway, jeffreychrist you are seriously awesome.
I mean it: thank you, thank you, thank you! :)

I can see how you'd feel that way. She is just glowing... very clear headed and clear spoken. She easily looks 10+ years younger than at the Red Rocks concert, just a year before. I even like the look she's sporting there!

Who wears high heeled boots on the sand? Totally impractical...

nailatixela 06-05-2009 07:32 AM

Thanks for sharing these. I never saw the 87 interview, blockbuster interview, and hold me stuff. She looks really nice in the 87 interview...she looked a little different - her face looks more like it does today.

after being a fan for so long and thinking I'd seen/heard everything, it's so exciting to have "new" stuff. thanks so much.

David 06-05-2009 10:32 AM

Do you guys think that in the MTV interview as the band are going in to their hotel, it's October '87 rather than December '87?

I like the crystal-clear Solid Gold clip! Jeffrey, are you the guy who circulated the crystal-clear versions of US Festival 2, Landover 1975, & Tokyo 1977 a few years ago? Do you have crystal-clear Landover 1978 & 1979?

BellaDonna93 06-05-2009 12:31 PM

I love all the videos!!! Thank you! I hadn't seen the Hold Me clips and Blockbuster and the '87 video so it was really fun! Love Stevie Nicks!!!

AliceLover 06-05-2009 03:16 PM

Ok, this may just be me, but if you fast foward to about 1:55 on the second "Hold Me" video I think Stevie puts somethin up her nose. :D

dnightshade 06-06-2009 12:53 AM

OMG!!!!! Where did you get those vid outtakes for Hold Me? Talk about bringing back memories! That bright sun is soooooooo bad for the skin, tho (and no sun screen)! Practically need sun glasses now just to watch.

BellaDonna 06-06-2009 08:45 AM

Thanks so much for sharing!! Thoes Hold Me videos are AWESOME!!! Stevie looks wonderful in thoes.

Lala 06-06-2009 10:29 AM

"It's real hard for me to open my eyes. I'm sorry. It's like I ca- ...They just refuse to open."

I don't know why, but I find that hilarious. I wish I could use that excuse at work.

Where was the Hold Me video shot? I always assumed it was some sort of soundstage, but you can hear the crew talking about losing the sunlight.

Thanks for posting these. The quality is amazing and I'm off to your youtube page to find more. A high quality version of the Grammys is wonderful!

;)

Minor correction about one of the videos, that "post 87 concert clip" is actually PRE concert clip. The interview was done by MTV at Bradley Airport in CT when they arrived for their Tango show later that night in Hartford. It was shown on the local news that night and I was highly pissed because I couldn't go to the show (I was 16 without a job or a ride!!).
If you notice you can hear the airplanes in the background.

I so agree with you! She's seems a little unsure of herself in at first but exhibits the most incredible charm and genuine humbleness. She doesn't seem to be suffering any effects yet from the Klonopin here. She seems completely different in this interview compared to her zoned out filmed performance at the Cow Palace at the end of the tour. Does anyone know when exactly Stevie started taking Klonopin, if it was before, during or after the Tango tour?

gldstwmn 06-07-2009 01:56 PM

That necklace that she is wearing in the Blockbuster clip while sitting on the sofa is gorgeous.

ChristyL17 06-07-2009 05:35 PM

Loved all these clips as well, had never seen any of them. Thanks so much for posting them!

I think she started the tranquilizer before the tour -- doesn't it make sense that if her friends & management were worried about her relapsing with cocaine, they'd push her into the psychiatrist's office before a big tour? But it doesn't seem the tranquilizer really zombified her at that relatively early point. She was certainly much more sedate on the 1987 tour than on previous tours, but that may have simply been not being a cokehead at that point. I also remember Stevie saying in a print interview that she had developed asthma trouble (or something chronic), & therefore had started taking prednisone or some sort of corticosteroid on the tour, which seemed to puff her up a bit & put more weight on her. Look at photos from October, & she looks good; & then look at photos from December & she looks older & heavier. Apparently, too, the Mac's late winter tour 1988 was postponed until the spring owing to Stevie's lingering illness.

It's a lot more enjoyable to watch some bootleg videos of October shows than to watch the Cow Palace commercial video from December.

A similar thing happened on both the 1989 solo tour & then again on the huge 1990 Mac tour: Stevie started trimmer & more vibrant in the early months, but owing to illness & possibly steroids to treat the illness, she grew a lot more lethargic.

I always thought that was interesting - I can see why we can assume Stevie was better at the start of the TITN tour than a few months into it - but am not really sure why we see this change on TOSOTM tour or the BTM tour. Sure it's the start of the tour so she might have more energy, but her dose of K was still the same - or even higher than it was before.

I just find it strange. Strange cycles. No wonder Lindsey stayed away. The cycles were just too strange.
