Setlist changes?

Anyone think we might see some minor (and I mean very minor) set lists changes in Philly on Wednesday?

Part of me doubts it, as I know FM is not one for changing setlists, but part of me feels like there may be 1-2 minor changes.

Some changes that I can see (if any).... Seven Wonders added and Gypsy taken out, and maybe I Know I'm Not Wrong in favor or Blue Letter. I'd be happy with these two changes.

Thoughts?

ontheEdgeof17 04-13-2009 12:22 PM

I don't see them changing anything for this leg. If so, my guess would be completely dropping Monday Morning. Other than that, nothing.

As much as I would love it- they aren't going to be playing Seven Wonders.

David 04-13-2009 06:13 PM

I'd like to see them drop at least half the songs, & do a significantly shorter show.

Those are 2 changes I'd LOOOOOVE to see. But then again, it's not like I'm seeing the Mac on this tour, so meh. But I still want to hear 7w and Blue Letter.

Songbird4 04-13-2009 08:28 PM

I don't think they are going to change anything, although I'd like them to drop SYLM. They could replace it with the reading of the phone book for all I care....I just find the song painful to listen to.

GypsyDreams 04-13-2009 08:45 PM

7 Wonders & Blue Letter would really rock! :blob2: I don't see it happening either :distress:

MacMan 04-13-2009 09:09 PM

To early to change... I think

Musicman408 04-13-2009 09:31 PM

As long as they don't drop IKINW, then we're good!!!!

DigYourGrave 04-14-2009 05:10 AM

I'm gonna strike a controversial chord here...
Is it time to drop Rhiannon? :sorry:, but I'm bored. *snoooooze*

Dodfather 04-14-2009 06:02 AM

I hope to see FM if they do Europe after the States and I was just thinking about what could be changed about the setlist!

Yep, dropping Rhiannon is controversial, I'd hate to not experience that song live! I think dropping Say You Love Me is a good idea because as much as i LOVE that song the performances I've heard with Stevie and Lindsey just make me miss Christine even more, which is a real shame because the song is brilliant.

I'd LOVE it if Seven Wonders was added. It's in my top 5 of Mac songs. I don't know what I do if they played it, I'd get a bit carried away!!

I totally agree. And they should also drop Don't Stop for the same reason. I love Stevie but these songs just don't work without Chris. But I'm sure they won't do that. If there are any changes what I don't really believe maybe they replace something (Sara?) with Beautiful Child.

Well I have to say, that is a rather unusual request.

Interestingly enough from what I've heard and seen on Youtube, I like how they do Say You Love Me. I think Lindsey's part is a little awkward, but other than that it's cool. The chorus sounds really good. I'm never in favor of dropping ANYTHING though unless they replace it with something.

There won't be any different songs, except something dropped maybe. They haven't been rehearsing in their time off. Stevie has been off promoting the Soundstage Sessions.

Dodfather 04-14-2009 09:27 AM

Oh, absolutely! That's what I mean, replace Say You Love Me with Seven Wonders.

SorcererJP 04-14-2009 09:34 AM

Well, I have heard tons of concerts on AUD-tapes in the past years. I think the Rhiannons nowadays are not that spectacular anymore. So, even though I'm dying to see them in Europe, I do not mind if they skip it when it happens. A Sisters or an Angel would be a cool replacement, or even Straight Back !

Don't Stop to drop?...Yes! This song is nothing without Christine if you'd ask me, but still a FM-signature song...instead I would like to hear Frozen Love, Long Distance Winner or Don''t you let me down Again...

Hi, Jeroen! I agree about "Don't Stop" because it sounds sort of thunky-munky these days. I call it constipation rock. You can't get yer ya-yas out. They're stuck. Like trying to run underwater. Slo-mo.

Seeing Fleetwood Mac is like digging for uranium in the deserts of Nevada. Your geiger counter will alert you to success or failure.

Gypsycat999 04-15-2009 01:00 PM

Well, coming to Europe would be alright by me :D...But dropping Rhiannon??? No!!! It may not be as good as it was 30 years ago but no song's that IMO. Pity I wasn't alive then and have missed sooooo much so I'll take what I get now and I want to hear Rhiannon live at least once in life. Who knows how long FM will be touring? Yeah, they'll need some money again but...you can't be sure.
And to be realistic they'll never drop Rhiannon like they'll never drop DS :distress:.

alwaysbeen 04-15-2009 02:28 PM

I don't know if anyone else is a fan of it but I wouldn't mind hearing Paper Doll instead of maybe Go Insane or Say You Love Me. As much as I like Lindsey's stuff and their version of SYLM I just would really love to hear Paper Doll. One of my favorites to come out of their catalogue.

I'm getting so fed-up with present day Rhiannon. Stevie sounds bored, and I feel bored. And her backing singers make me cringe when I hear them on it. If I hear it, I'm just like, 'blah - next', but if you spin me a '75-'82 Rhiannon, I'll still get chills.

If they ever grace Europe with their presence, I'd prefer to hear Beautiful Child instead of Say You Love Me. And I've been really diggin' Rock A Little lately, so I think, instead of Stand Back, No Spoken Word would be pretty cool.

And, I know it's a Christine song, but I'd love to hear Brown Eyes again. If they can perform SYLM, why not Brown Eyes? I think Lindsey could totally pull that one off.

No controversy here. She's overstayed her welcome. Rhiannon needs to get a clue and fly...fly away (presumably to her castle in the sky).

Musicman408 04-15-2009 09:04 PM

As much as I wouldn't mind if they dropped Rhiannon- it is NEVER going to happen I don't think!

I like Paper Doll but would prefer it not to replace a Lindsey song. Although, I think I would have loved to hear The Right Place to Fade or Slow Dancing or something different from Go Insane (which I love) for a change. And since I haven't seen them yet and experienced SYLM I'll hold my opinion, but I would really love if they did something like I Don't Want To Know or even Frozen Love (yeah right). But anyways...I'm always up for something different. :)

Woohoo! You and me both!

The harmonies in that are AWESOME! and the range is not an issue. I can just see Lindsey rocking that solo..Are you getting this visual too?..but alas, we could never drop fricking "Don't Stop" or "World Turning".....:(

I would be surprised if they did. Because they've been opening with a bang and the shows I've been at the crowd has reacted massively.

WildHeart69 04-16-2009 12:19 AM

yeah, same setlist tonight... Stevie's vocals on Storms, GDW, Silver Springs, and Landslide were REALLY great... not an exaggeration! I hope someone recorded it!

I agree with Gypsycat999. I just really, really want to hear Rhiannon live once. Never seen FM live before and it's such an iconic song. As for adding Straight Back, I'm really not up forthat. I think that Gypsy, Eyes Of The World and That's Alright are the only really good songs on Mirage.

Did you ever hear the audio recording of the band rehearsing that song for its 1982 tour? I think it has an appeal for people who don't particularly like the studio track.

Lee 04-16-2009 01:46 PM

I liked hearing Oh Well & Storms. Stevie said that they went looking for a song that they never performed live before & then she sang Storms.

And sorry, no Hold Me.

Lee :)

I always liked RHiannon, even recent solo versions. But this tour it's dreadful. I was generally pleasantly surprised at the show I attended, but Rhiannon was a real bore. No fire at all, no feeling.

Spikey 04-17-2009 11:05 PM

Thoughts:

1. Rhiannon is obviously not played because Stevie wants it played, it's played because it's a hit and because this is a greatest hits tour (or something like that, who knows anymore). But it ain't going anywhere, no matter what we mostly all want.
2. Monday Morning will not be dropped, IMHO- it's like the beginning of the BN-FM era, the first track of FM White Album, and I think it works great as the opener to the concert, it gets people screaming.
3. 'Hold Me'- you really think they could pull that one off live??
4. "SYLM"- ditto for 1. An iconic song, they can't not play it. Same goes for DS, etc, etc, etc. Plus I think Lindsey loves the challenge of playing a song that's not his, especially after his Crow 'lounge' derision i think he had to back it up by taking on the responsibility himself, or at least with Stevie.

ANd I don't know what people have against "World Turning"- is it the solo? Because I'm sure people enjoy that. I mean, I don't care how bad it is, I want to see it live, once. Then I can join everyone else who berates Mick and his 'balls' ;)
But it's a good song, anyway. Up there with "I'm So Afraid" for White Album Lindsey angst.

My only surprise is how surprised people are by the setlist. I'm entirely unsurprised (apart from some Tusk gems which makes me VERY happy). You know we won't hear other Tusk or Mirage or Tango stuff. I just hope Lindsey doesn't drop Big Love, or I'll actually wake up, only to fall (crying).

Never in a million years and I wouldn't want them to try. Someone had said that the only good songs on Mirage were Eyes of the World, That's All Right, and Gypsy. Therefore, I questioned why Hold Me wasn't included as being one of the better songs off that album. I guess that was misconstrued. I apologize.
