Were these pre-Buckingham Nicks songs performed?

I'm a big fan of all various incarnations of Fleetwood Mac prior to Buckingham Nicks. I really love how those songs were adapted and performed when Lindsey and Stevie joined. Songs such as:

Station Man
Tell Me All The Things You Do
Sunny Side Of Heaven

Hypnotized

Oh Well
Green Manalishi

Get Like You Used To Be
Believe Me
Why
Spare Me A Little

Frozen Love
Don't Let Me Down Again

All of these songs have emerged on various live bootlegs. But I've seen some documentation that other songs were performed:

Child Of Mine
Just Crazy Love
Prove Your Love

If this is true, how did they escape all the bootlegs out there? And, as an off-hand comment, why didn't they play more Bob Welch songs -- Sentimental Lady for example?

In this case I even would say that they could have done a real "original-beater" potentially, because in some way I think they would have been perfect for this song.

It was mentioned in Mick's book that at the time that Welch was recording French Kiss, Fleetwood Mac was doing "Sentimental Lady" in concert, which is one reason that most of Fleetwood Mac was involved in Bob's version on FK.

Also, there've been verbal reports of them doing Bob Welch's "Angel" early in '75. (undocumented on recordings, however...much like "Child Of Mine" & "Prove Your Love")

Any link to download these bootlegs? I am a huge fan of these songs. I've listened to Green Manalishi & Hypnotized live, and they were great, but I have not heard the others. Why is one of my favorite Mac songs, too, for whatever reason.

I'll help. Because it ranks high on "the best fleetwood mac -song ever written"-list.

I think the bootleg with Stevie and Lindsey is amazing.

Look here: http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=39535 I think there are a few live versions of each song.

I know it's not a bootleg and I may remember incorrectly, but isn't the version of "Why" on the 25 Years Chain Boxed Set with Stevie and Lindsey? I too love that song and the version with them singing- they did it on the Midnight Special right?

Nope. That's Bob Welch.

So...have any bootlegs emerged that have the Rumours era band performing Child Of Mine, Prove Your Love, or Just Crazy Love? I'm not sure if they ever did, but I read somewhere that they included those songs in their set at one time or another.

That was my original question when I started this thread.

Nothing.

I think I just made that up. I like to start fan folk tales & urban rumors.

The Chain Box set Why features amazing slide guitar from Bob Weston. Weston has also claimed (in a Q and A on this site) that he is largely responsible for the arrangement of the guitar and strings throughout the song.

I doubt they ever played Prove Your Love live, but I would kill to hear it, if they did. I've heard a few people report (from second or third hand accounts--much like urban folklore) that the 75 lineup played Child of Mine (with Lindsey singing) and Angel (with Chris singing). If either made the setlist, I'd be surprised, but Child of Mine might have had the best shot: Lindsey has said he did not like performing Bob Welch's tunes.

Fixed.

BTW, they're doing Oh Well, which counts!

Too bad for us. I loved his version of Hypnotized.

He may have SAID that, but he MEANT "I don't like performing Fleetwood Mac songs I had nothing to do with during the creation process."

How he SHOULD have felt: "I'm so happy I'm not starving and that I'm making money in a band with a history that I should just shut the hell up about playing the songs that made them famous to this point and do my best to make the songs sound as good as I can...and if Mick & John want to keep playing those songs, they're the bosses and I'll keep doing them and liking it...plus, if they even said 'play "Free Bird", I'd be more than glad to play it, too!".

Don't get me started on how much of a narcissistic a-hole with the spoiled rich-kid sense of entitlement I think Lindsey was back then...oh, wait, he really hasn't changed all that much.

That version on The Chain box is the same version that is on Mystery To Me. Weston's lead guitar work on both of the albums he was on was just spectacular. He is a FINE guitarist and is definitely one of those who is severely underrated, if not completely unknown outside of Fleetwood Mac circles.
