B&N Roll Call

Who's going to the CD/DVD signing? Do we want to meet up at the same time so we can hang out all day together....and maybe form a snack list so we don't die of hunger?

UndoingTheLaces 03-25-2009 12:17 PM

Awww, have fun guys. I wish I could be there. I also wish that since Miss Nicks lives in LA she'd do a signing here someday.

HejiraNYC 03-25-2009 01:04 PM

What time do you plan on arriving? Depending on the size of the Ledge contingent, perhaps we should consider taking shifts? I mean, I loves me some Mama, but I simply don't do rain for prolonged periods.

ontheEdgeof17 03-25-2009 01:31 PM

I would think the rain would work in our favor. I don't see other than really die-hard fans standing in the rain at 6am. I might go....scope it out...and if it is raining.....come back at 10.....

....depending on what everyone else is doing.

LikeAWillow 03-25-2009 01:33 PM

I'm definitely in and would be up for shifts! I'm not sure what time I'm getting there yet, I'll be driving down from Boston early in the morning...

WOW.. great idea Curt! I'm not going but have a girlfriend who is.. and not sure when/ if she's gonna be there?? I think she mentioned around 6am on that Tuesday.. but wasn't sure.. That's a GREAT idea to bring extra snacks, and maybe safe someone's place in line while they go take a break! I hope it all goes good - and wishing you all LOTS of good luck! I hope the weather holds up for you too!

I'm going to scope out the crime scene the night before... but I suspect that there are going to be some nutjob chiffonheads already in line. I can guarantee it!

skcin 03-25-2009 02:18 PM

You bitches had better get plenty of pics! :xoxo: I'm talking to you, my little french fry!

I was going to suggest the same thing... I am willing to take a "shift", the later the better.

My girlfirend and I are getting there at about 11:30ish, but already have plans for the earlier half of the day.

If we want to make a schedule, I am totally in!

WildHeart69 03-25-2009 02:40 PM

weather.com now says "Occasional showers possible. Highs in the low 50s and lows in the low 40s."

is that a brighter outlook?? (prob not...)

Personally I believe flipping a coin is more accurate than these weather forecasts most of the time. The NOAA weather site claims that it's going to be sunny and 60°F on Tuesday. Who the eff knows?

I thought about driving in but I think parking will be a major issue. Where are you planning on parking?

I know, I was worrying about that, too. I drove up from Pittsburgh over the summer and was able to find a few garages with spaces and "fair" day rates, though, so I'm hoping that will be the situation again. I also have a good friend at NYU, and I'm wondering if they have any parking that I could get a guest pass for? Somehow I doubt it haha.

Yea, I am worried about finding parking.... I want to drive up because the train times for Baltimore coming back leave to early. Not sure how else I would get there besides driving  And I am sure traffic will be a complete mess.

If I can figure out my transportation issues I will be there.

ontheEdgeof17 03-25-2009 04:04 PM

^Why don't you guys park up in the UWS or UES....around in there...where there are more residential streets with parking rather than Midtown and then take the train down? There is usually parking outside my apartment.

Enchanted_Stevi 03-25-2009 04:08 PM

I am DEFINATLY going. My mom keeps saying no and that she will think about it...but I'm going to be 19 in 2 weeks and I need to be an adult and do things for myself whether she likes it or not.

Being an only child SUUUUUCKS because my mom is so protective over me and like will barely let me go to Boston with my friends....FML!!!

I'm in!! I just need the final ok from work, but I should be getting that tomorrow. Count me in for whatever...shifts, snacks, all of thee above!! I think it'll be fun for everyone to meet up. Not to mention help the time pass.

~Kim

PS Curtis, you're the best!! :xoxo:

I pray for this every night haha. But since the signing corresponds to the release date, I have a feeling it's a one time thing.

Wow, that is incredibly sweet. I don't *think* I'll need a place to stay, but I would be eternally grateful to you if I could crash if something went wrong. Seriously, you are amazing.

This is so exciting. Of course I'm jealous but I'm so giddy for those of you who are able to pull this off- woo!

Curtis- when did you move to NY? That's awesome.

JazmenFlowers 03-25-2009 09:45 PM

I totally almost decided to come to NYC for this, but alas, work has put a stop to that.

have fun Curtis...see you in May!

iamnotafraid 03-25-2009 11:56 PM

Good thing I know B&N's manager.
Got me one of the "wristbands" (1 of 300),
so I won't have to wait in line.

iamnotafraid 03-26-2009 02:22 AM

twas' a joke of course

WildHeart69 03-26-2009 11:10 AM

^ Someone on Mick's board said they know someone who actually does work there and for U2 people camped out overnight and they did in fact only give out 300 wristbands.... I think I might try for an earlier train!

They also said that it was Stevie's request that no photos be taken (which, again, I assume to be no posed pictures)

What annoys me about this is when I called the store and specifically asked about wristbands they said they weren't doing that. I think I will wait til Monday afternoon to call again and see what the finalized plan is.

No one is going to stop me from snapping pics while I stand in line...not even Mama Nicks!

Good to know.

GavinBrown 03-26-2009 07:19 PM

i am going...look for me kiddos! haha

WildHeart69 03-26-2009 08:17 PM

It actually looks like I can do an earlier shift... I thought the late show taped at 11am and it doesnt tape until 3 (and the lady said it will last til around 5:30 or so)

So if we are doing shifts can we start assigning times soon? I could do an X hour shift from whenever til whenever (as early as possible, I guess)... and be back at 6...just putting it out there

Your joke of 300 wristbands is being passed around as fact on SevenWonders (with the above post cited as the source), just so you know. Are you a member yourself there with the ability to explain your humor, or should I do it for you?

WildHeart69 03-27-2009 04:24 PM

The 300 wristband policy is plausible, however, employees at this time are saying there will be no wristbands...

LikeAWillow 03-27-2009 04:26 PM

Oh it's definitely possible, but the post I'm talking about speaks directly of I'mNotAfraid's comment about getting a band himself from knowing the manager. I'm not comfortable with fans making decisions about whether or not to go to this signing based on someone's sense of humor. It needs to be corrected for them that what was said was a "joke" and not insider information from a friend of the store.

No, don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you! I was just adding to your comment.

:sorry: I didn't mean to come off so harsh. I just feel really bad for anyone on that board who didn't understand where the number was coming from. I went over there and posted myself to correct it, though.

WildHeart69 03-27-2009 04:39 PM

Ha! I didnt mean to sound defensive either! Again, my feelings are mutual.
