CNN Video - Stevie and Lindsey

CNN Video.... A little more of that Press Junket they sat through promoting the Unleashed Tour comes out...

Embedded video from CNN Video

Thanks for posting that! Gah... where is this professionally recorded Unleashed footage coming from? It looks/sounds so good...

It's part of that STASH of video footage they film every night, like Michele indicated in her Nassau review... I know... Makes me sad to think we'll never get to see it :(

StreetAngel86 03-14-2009 09:10 AM

i will pay someone a LOT of $$
to confiscate that material
and hand it over to this board :D

Kelly 03-14-2009 09:51 AM

Stevie looks drop dead gorgeous with her hair that way.

I like to watch Lindsey's reaction to some of the things Stevie says...like the GYOW quote. She says "I think" its about me....and he just gets this cute little smirky smile. Gah....drool. ;)

kak125 03-14-2009 09:53 AM

that was pretty good. stevie saying how they can go on stage and have their almost love affair or something like that and the audience is like they are getting back together was kinda strange. my theory is if their interaction together isnt real then dont do it.

GypsyDreams 03-14-2009 10:04 AM

They sure get me with that 'love affair' stuff they do... makes me all warm and fuzzy inside... now they are like it's an act? Thats so sad... I want it to be real dangit! :D Cuz... ~I am something of a dreamer~ ;)

I love her hair too! Very beautiful with curls.

That Go Your Own Way remark made me laugh. They are so cute together. :xoxo:

me too, its odd that now they say its an act? the thing is that i really dont think they would be that good at acting though. who knows with them anymore!

They have always known that alot of the audience was into the SnL dynamic and have used that to their advantage. She is just admitting it out loud here. It does not mean that some of their interaction is not spontaneous and genuine. Stevie is pretty smart and has always used the Love/Hate card when talking about Lindsey because she knows it keeps everyone guessing and interested. The stuff they choreograph onstage proves they know what sells. (there's still something we can sell"). I don't think any of this means they don't also have real interaction and genuine love for each other. I see it as two different things...their onstage relationship and their offstage relationship.

gldstwmn 03-14-2009 10:26 AM

Only Lindsey and Stevie will ever know the real truth about the whole love affair on stage thing. I think the qualifiers were added out of respect to Lindsey's wife and kids.

Stevie changes her tune on things like the weather. Lindsey is a terrible actor and although I think he can also play to the voyeur in fans, I think his real feelings are all over his face.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Stevie does look strikingly, incandescently gorgeous with the curls and her skin looks so soft, healthy, and luminous, as well. She looks fantastic. Lindsey looks cool too.

Great post. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments.

Word!

PenguinHead 03-14-2009 10:55 AM

What they do is called "Pandering," as in pandering to an audience who wants to believe every little thing they write, play and perform has some deep-seated significance. Are some of their interactions genuine? After so many years together, of course they are. But, surely, it's no surprise to long-term fans that they milk their history to death...in a very pathological sense; Stevie much more so than Lindsey. But they are both such drama queens!

Enchanted_Stevi 03-14-2009 11:00 AM

LOVE this!! Thanks for sharing it!!

But there's money to be made from it. Look at the reaction just in this thread: "gah...drool," "warm & fuzzy," etc. etc. etc. We live in the Reality TV age -- which isn't something new in principle. It's always been part of human nature. People take vicarious interest in other people's sexual lives, financial lives, emotional hardships.

Great marketing, Stevie. Way to get people NOT to buy what you're trying to sell... and I thought she was a better businesswoman than that... hmmm

SandyMac 03-14-2009 12:05 PM

As long time fans, I think we all have come to realize they do milk it a bit on stage, but in their defense, I would too in their situation. Also as long time fans, I think we can tell the difference between staged interaction night after night because we have a good fan base with reviews/photos/vids and honest smiles and gestures.

Their relationship is intense and people love that. Their relationship is almost legendary, kind of like "Luke and Laura" of General Hospital.

We all know Lindsey is married and has kids, so they just play it up on stage to add some spice to the show. Nothing wrong with that.

thatgirlwasme 03-14-2009 01:40 PM

I had to laugh at the Sheryl Crow comments. I thought it was telling how Stevie felt she had to defend Sheryl and Lindsey kind of rolled his eyes at the "being in the army" comment. Oh Stevie, I love how dramatic you are!

Musicman408 03-14-2009 01:45 PM

Thanks for posting- Love the video!!! I love the voice that she does when the audience is talking about them getting back together!!!:p

ILoveFM 03-14-2009 01:51 PM

When I first hit play and heard them singing "The Chain" I muted my computer so fast, it wasn't even funny! I did not wanna hear any audio before my concert, so through the whole interview I kept muting when I would start hearing any song, even if it was from The Dance. I loved the interview though, and agree with a lot of what everyone was saying.

shackin'up 03-14-2009 01:55 PM

That Monday Morning fragment sounded fantastic. That was far out the most interesting couple of seconds of this "thing".

I think they would be stupid not to milk it. Otherwise, they would just be a band. They create the persona just like many other artists do. The difference here is that there is a history and real story behind it. It's what keeps the band fresh in the eyes of the younger fans even if the songs aren't new.

Agreed, but as we all know, Stevie occasionally puts her foot in her mouth. Or, if it was not just something that rolled off her tongue, that is just bizarre. Sometimes I think she says things in the press, as a direct result of things that are going on behind the scenes with her and Lindsey.

This is true.. Cuz I sure don't think they can fake some of them *looks*they give each other... :D They have to still care for each other.. they just do.

wolfontherun 03-14-2009 04:07 PM

jld92 03-14-2009 10:05 PM

Interviewer: Is GYOW about you?
Stevie: I think
Lindsey: OH DEFINITELY

^This made me laugh...

Marketing 101: How to Sell 19 Million and Hire Your Own Housekeeper

If Lindsey and I had just been happy, happy, happy there would have been no Go Your Own Way- it would have just been like here we are happy, happy and the audience would have been like, ok well next couple!

I laughed when Stevie said you have no opinion when you're in FM. She seems to have plenty of opinions.

if it feels good..do it
i don't think they'd be doing it if it wasn't real
and they didn't have that kind of interaction anyway
i think it starts off with geniune affection and then like on SYW becomes an "act"

but i agree with whomever mentioned it...i don't think theyre that good at acting

oh yeah i agree with you on that. i just got irritated by the way she said that. its like she pretends like she doesnt like the interaction with lindsey and then she plays into it. damm them both, HA!!

sparky 03-15-2009 01:09 AM

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

She finally admits to the manipulative money milking farce.

If I didn't already know it I would puke.

Oops. Just barfed in my mouth a little anyway.

She ought to have the decency to not own up to it.

and he's just like oh, okay
like it's no big deal :p

surely she WOULD know if the song was/wasn't about her
how old is it? lol
hasn't she always said she wrote Dreams to his GYOW coz she wanted the +ve spin and his take was negative re their r/ship

 absolutely
like when she jumps from week to week in those interviews
she goes from i love lindsey & he does all this magic to my songs etc
to lindsey will be the death of me and no i wont tour/do a new album anympre coz lindsey pisses me off
why and how would her opinions of him change so vastly in shorts amount of time when they're not on tour if they weren't in some regular contact with each other [and i'm assuming, for arguments sake, Mama's mood changes are not just hormonal or coz of her split gemmi personality ]

i wouldn't mind that it was a scam if the audience got to pick random emotions for them to act out.

like rage. or ravenous hunger.
