Roll Call....Who's going to the Madison Square Garden Show?

I will be there with bells on! :blob1:
Just curious to see how many of my fellow Ledgies are going to be there
cheering on our band!

wheart 03-09-2009 09:30 PM

As of now I'm not BUT I'm checking for tickets everyday. If good seats pop up (and they haven't yet) I'll be there. I'm a 2 hour train ride away so I'd love to make it.

1sttimelongtime 03-09-2009 09:39 PM

I would go if I got good seats. It's only a very short train ride.

GavinBrown 03-09-2009 10:08 PM

ps-for all of you waiting for tix to drop, most MSG shows wont start dropping tix til 24-48 hours before...so be patient!!

Thanks... I shall keep that in mind. :)

Keith 03-10-2009 05:45 AM

count me in..

I actually take off work every Thursday and Friday when March Madness kicks off, so I had my leave already scheduled when I noted the Mac was playing on March 19 in NYC - so I thought to myself.. just hop on the Acela, get to Manhatten early, find a local sports bar (any suggestions?), watch some college b-ball, then go to the show... I'm one of those who has been checking every day for tix... keeping my fingers crossed..

btw,, did I mention I'm going to the D.C. show tonight... it's finally here!!

kathy1 03-10-2009 07:10 AM

have fun at the show.

GavinBrown 03-10-2009 11:07 AM

hey keith, great sports bar just off the west village stop...its called town tavern, and is only a few stops away from MSG on the subway! :) I think they also have one in DC that recently opened if im correct?

Livia 03-10-2009 11:14 AM

Have a blast tonight, Keith. I'll be awaiting your full report. :D

Hey I have been to that Town Tavern. That place is cool but around 9 or 10 at night it gets packed there. They have a Town Tavern in the south side of pittsburgh where I live so last time my hubby and I were in New York we stopped there to check it out. I was surprised that it was a lot smaller than the one here.

Keith 03-10-2009 12:47 PM

thanks..

Thanks Livia.. you know I'm struggling with work today as all I can think about is seeing Stevie tonight. :-) I wish you were coming to the D.C. show like in 2003! It's going to rock..

Gavin - I will definitely check out the Town Tavern - I always head down to the village when I visit NYC - I love a Salt and Battery (good fish and chips).

About the Town Tavern in D.C - it's in my neighborhood about 2 blocks away from my flat. I noticed it about a month ago, but didn't go in because it didn't look like a sports bar (the bar it replaced was not one of my favorite spots - i figured it was the same place with a different name). Also, Adams Morgan - where I live - is all bars and restaurants, so bars come and go... I sometimes just don't notice.. I think I'll check out the d.c. town tavern this weekend while catching some of the conference championships! I can just stumble home if need be... Thanks for the tip. :-) Bring on the MAC!

Go Mizzou (since my teams probably won't make THE DANCE: Arkansas Razorbacks, Georgetown Hoyas, and Notre Dame Irish). tough year for me on the college b-ball front.

Geez... there are 744 tickets to this show on Stubhub. I have a feeling that 7th Ave. is going to be lined with people desperately trying to unload their "investments." Add to that the fact that FM will have already played multiple times in the tri-state area, and the prospects for MSG grow even dimmer. And even on Stubhub I noticed that there are only a handful of seats up for grabs in sections 1, 2, 3 and 4. I suspect there's going to be quite a release once ILAA has given up on their extortionary tactics.

sarahw 03-10-2009 07:50 PM

there is a sports bar right next door to the garden.....if you are standing in front of it, looking at the garden doors, the bar is to the left....I don't know the name of it, but it is a nice place, but will be crowded

Thanks for that bit of info

john214x 03-12-2009 06:03 PM

anyone still holding out on tix for MSG show? waiting for better seats to pop up but its been stuck on Loge 53 and Loge 82 for past 3days.

1sttimelongtime 03-12-2009 07:00 PM

I am waiting!!! After the near perfection that was last night's show, I dont want to miss this!! :]:]

But I want good seats!

ontheEdgeof17 03-12-2009 07:06 PM

I'm going but haven't got a ticket yet.

bucklind17 03-12-2009 07:11 PM

I'll be there!

Just curious, has anyone had luck self-upgrading their seats once inside? I know the last concert I was at at MSG, there was NO one inside checking tickets in the 200 or 300 sections to make sure that you were in the right spot and that was a sold-out show. I'm kind of hoping that we'll see some empty seats and be able to move, but we're in 300 so I'm doubting we'll get onto the floor. Maybe down to 200 at least, especially if there's really THAT many unclaimed tickets still.

john214x 03-12-2009 07:22 PM

far right Floor Seats popped up for about 10mins the other day but they weren't worth getting being far back..waiting to see if closer Loge seats pop up or decent Floor but seeing same tickets pop up doesn't look good.

SNicksed 03-13-2009 02:50 PM

I'm hoping to go to this show. If I do, I'm going to have to leave somewhat early to catch a 10:45 Amtrak to Albany.

I've never been to MSG. Can someone tell me the quickest way from the arena to the Amtrak area in Penn station? Is the entrance/exit to MSG outside on 7th Ave or is there an entrance/exit to MSG inside Penn?

Sorry for the dumb question... I really should have checked this out the last time I was in the city. :o

I saw the same crappy floor seats an hour ago. I am very interested in the answer to the question about whether you can upgrade at the actual event.

Are those sections right near the stage but off to the side any good? I see them available at a bunch of shows but not sure I want to be looking at the band from the side. What do you all think?

TrueFaith77 03-13-2009 03:09 PM

I will be there!!!!

Keith 03-13-2009 05:45 PM

I'm going..

I keep checking ticketmaster but I'm stuck on Section 52, Row J, seat 4...

and thanks Sara for the tip about the sports bar next to the Garden - I can watch b-ball up until showtime and after the concert stop in for a nightcap and catch the late games..

macmar71 03-13-2009 09:24 PM

10:23PM One Seat in Floor Section 4 Row M (12th row) showing up now for NYC show

macmar71 03-13-2009 09:27 PM

Now one seat in Section 4 FLOOR (11th row) showing so maybe the floor is starting to drop. I have tickets on the sidelines and that is where I will stay. Cannot afford to play around for better tickets but good luck to everyone still looking.

macmar71 03-13-2009 09:29 PM

10:30PM Ticketmaster Floor 2 Row R (17th row)

john214x 03-14-2009 12:15 AM

decent but still holdin' out..heard the floor is real bad at MSG unless your first 10 rows.

Regina 03-14-2009 03:10 PM

I'm pretty sure they don't upgrade.
You have to buy a second ticket, if you find something better.

Keith 03-15-2009 11:04 AM

question about MSG seating

I must have visited ticketmaster a thousand times in the past week checking MSG seats.. today I'm getting sec. 4, row N, seat 3 or 4 or 5. Does anyone know how the seats are numbered - left to right? right to left? Since section 4 is far left on the floor, I was wondering if seat 1 was next to section 3 or at the far end of the floor. (I noted there were no $49 or $79 tickets available now).

Hi Regina!

I heard that also so I'm very worried. I got the ILAA 4-star, which I think means I'm row 10-20.

you have to be closer than row 10 to 20,

single walk-ups are getting better seats at other shows,

you will probably be in row 1 or 2, front, &, centre...

Hi Regina!

Hi, Keith.

They seem to be releasing tickets one or two at a time. So, hang in there.

Seat 1 is at the far end of the floor. In that section, seat 8 is closest to the middle.

I think that's with the 5-star VIP package. I had the 4-star also at the show in Pitts, and it was row 14.

But I'm thinking positive. :)

Keith 03-15-2009 06:28 PM

thank you..

thanks Regina - I appreciate the info.. looks like all the floor seats at MSG are gone.. and the $79 and $49 tickets are no longer available.. I decided not to pay $200 (with all the tm service charges) for a seat in the loge where if I stand I'll be bombarded with "sit down" comments.. oh well.. March Madness in D.C. doesn't disappoint. although ticketmaster does.. enjoy the show, Regina.. the band is stellar.. they don't disappoint!

1sttimelongtime 03-15-2009 07:57 PM

Are loge seats a bad thing? That is all I am pulling up, and the view from the madison square website doesnt look half bad... Any feedback on those types of seats? I am pulling up section 83 and 85

They can be good (I've only had them for skating!) but it depends how far back you are. And it depends on the experience you want. When I went to the Eagles, most of the floor was standing throughout everything except the newer, slower stuff. The loge was pretty much sitting until the very end, if I remember correctly. So, you may have people, as Keith said above, telling you to sit. It really depends on the crowd. But, people in elevated sections tend to want to sit.

1sttimelongtime 03-15-2009 09:34 PM

Thanks Regina!

I prefer to stand, but I will sit if that is what everyone is doing. I will sleep on it and see if they are still there tomorrow!

You might want to hold off a couple of days. I know it's uncomfortable waiting but they have been releasing a couple of good tickets here and there--but it's all a matter of timing. They'll release 2 or 3 tickets and then go back to the stuff they've been offering all along.

But, they're running out of time and they still have tons of tickets out there.

Keith 03-17-2009 04:05 PM

Patience and lots of visits to Ticketmaster can pay off.

I just got a ticket for MSG this Thursday - Section 3, Row C, Seat 1!!!!!!!

After days and hours and minutes of checking ticketmaster non stop - it happened.. floor seats are dropping for the MSG show!!!!

:-)
