You've Got A Friend by James Taylor. I love the Carole King version too, but his vocal touches my heart more.

I would have to say Bing Crosby's recording of Baia.

Sheryl Crow covering Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N Roses. I love them but never liked that song until she covered it.

Simply Red's You Make Me Feel Brand New

Dixie Chicks' cover of Patty Griffin's 'Top of the World." I think it's the strings, gives it more depth & feeling for me.

Linda Ronstadt & Emmylou Harris's cover of Jackson Browne's "For a Dancer." :thumbsup:

Nice one. I would say I prefer Emmylou's cover of any song, I adore her voice so much, particularly Bob Dylan's Every Grain of Sand from her Wrecking Ball album.

Also:

Tori Amos' version of I Don't Like Mondays The Boomtown Rats) and Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana). Patti Smith's version of Because the Night (originally Bruce Springsteen) and Fiona Apple's version of Across the Universe (The Beatles).

Oh my I freaking love Metallica's version of Turn the Page. It's one of my favorite covers and I like it so much better than the original.

Smells Like Teen Spirit Tori Amos cover is a lot better that the original version by Nirvana, I think :)
