fleetwoodtrick 03-05-2009 08:26 PM

So beautiful....and spellbinding. I love it!

She did such a wonderful job on this song! I wouldn't mind hearing more like this from her. Very refreshing.

Few people can pull off this kind of song and rock out like she does.

Immediately after watching the show, I was thinking that this is the sort of thing Stevie needs to do to get back into the spotlight and to get inspired about music again- singing the songs of her grandfather's era. And she should record an entire album with Chris Isaak (and Silvertone?)- I love the way they sound together, and I love the sweet, simple, rootsy band arrangement. I mean, hello, look what this sort of project has done for Robert Plant (and Alison Kraus). And the Mark Knopfler-Emmylou Harris duet album was also a relative hit as well. There is something about Stevie's weepy/yearning vocal that renders these kinda cornball old tunes into something heartfelt and genuine yet, I would even dare say, contemporary.

A wonderful thought ..but I fear her case of Norma Desmonditis is too advanced ..in other words if she doesn't feel she can get the sales and airplay of say 1981 then she won't "bother" doing anything at all .

But I have a little hope because in that audio clip from Boston.com she was basically saying that she can't worry about the failing music business and failing economy. She just said she had to keep making music and hope that it will prevail. Basically I guess she was saying, "If I quit now, they win."

Michele

I ABSOLUTELY love this idea! Brilliant!!! (and I love both Raising Sand and All The Roadrunning...) And maybe, just maybe, we will FINALLY get a released version of 'Are You Mine' ... I've been waiting for that for just about forever...and with Chris it would be even better than with Billy (IMO, only...) Love it love it love it...get this idea to Stevie STAT!!! ; )

I'll say. Wow, and to think I wasn't even excited about this show. I'm glad I decided to check it out after all.

Why can I only find the first part of the interview? There is supposed to be more after she talks about joining Fleetwood Mac, right?

Thank you for putting up the video. It's funny, but it brings both Stevie and Waddy full circle- Stevie to her country beginnings with her grandfather doing "Red River Valley," and Waddy, with his Everly Brothers' history on "It's Late." I think there's great chemistry between Stevie and Chris Isaak. I hope we get to see more of that. It's a cool duo to add to our Stevie Nicks "Duets" collection.

Seeing the performance of Red River Valley is a bit heartbreaking to me..It demonstrates that she still has it in an instant as far as bringing life and that somethinng extra to a song when she is enthusiastic about singing it..A reminder of what I always loved about this woman ..well that and she doesn't own a cellphone.

Maybe if she did something with the Dixie Chicks, she'd have a hit again ;)

I agree. Absolutely.

Call me slow, but I just finally got around to watching Stevie do 'New York Minute' with Don Henley, and the same thing applies there. She was a complete knockout on that song!!!

Those women put on an outstanding live show. It would be an honor to have Stevie perform with them, but I don't mean just Natalie. All three.

I've also thought about Martie, Emily and Lindsey on his banjo? I'd buy tickets. Michele

oh, i dont mind them
i just dont want stevie working with them
i think she needs to go off and do her own thing

and i dont think she'd be in it, for a hit
i just want a new record
even if it was mostly crap
but i doubt she could do that :D

See, this along with the recent performances of Storms goes to show that Stevie can still sing a pretty good song when she tries. I didn't like It's Late , though. :o

I think she and Chris should do a tour ala the Henley/Stevie tour. But they must do Solitary Man. I don't suppose any nice person out there could provide us with the deleted Solitary Man from Chris's show? Please?
