Chicago: Who's going tonight? *spoilers*

Hey, how's everyone doing? Gettin pumped for tonight? Just wanted to see who was attending the Allstate show tonight (and tomorrow, for that matter) and maybe meet up before/after the show? Met up with a few ledgies before down in Atlanta, but now that I'm up in Chicago it would be cool to meet some fellow fans..

5th Row center floor.. Not sure exactly the seat numbers right now, will know later this afternoon. Glad I actually got good seats :D

How about you?

My friend and I will be there tonight, and my cousin is going with me tomorrow. Not sure where we are sitting tonight but tomorrow I would like to get a $50 ticket and attempt filming the show. I filmed Tesla's show last October at the Horseshoe Casino with my Sony HD camcorder and it came out great so I'm looking forward to getting the Unleashed show recorded. I have to say though after reading yesterday that DavidMN was asked during the show if he would like to move to closer seats...I'm at little nervous. Wouldn't that suck if I was filming and security came and busted me in the process of offering better seats. Wish my luck folks...and I will be sharing! :]

Hey Alicia! :wavey:

I was just thinnking that you and I usually have good results with our photos...but some of the shots I've seen posted here from the first 2 shows are astonishingly clear! Some of them look like they have to be professionally shot because the lighting is perfect and there is practically no grain in them at all.

I thought they were professional shots as well. I'll be bringing my humble point and shoot, but I'm in the front row for Friday, so no worries about people's hands and stuff blocking shots.

WOW! What a wonderful night! They played great. I loved the Monday Morning opener, STORMS!, and of course Silver Springs as the final encore.. Amazing time. Can't wait for tomorrow night! Pix+videos in the AM :)

I heard it was quite a sing-a-long. enjoy your next show :wavey: really looking forward to your captures... thanks again, Ian.

If I still lived in Chicago, I would have flown to Pittsburgh on opening night in lieu of going to these shows (even if tickets were free- which they most certainly will be tomorrow). Rosemont & Allstate Arena are sh*tholes.

Just my opinion, of course :D

Do they let you bring a camera.. or do you have to sneak it?.. I'm a little worried about BLue Cross Arena in Rochester~ Haven't seen a show there in awhile...just got a new camera and have 2nd row.. so I want to be able to take pics.. They were cool at Turning stone in 2007... Where do you hide it if you do sneak it?

The Allstate Arena had a sign posted that read "No Professional Cameras", so I was able to get my cheap little digital camera in. I think it's so hard for them to stop cameras these days due to all the cell phones with cameras! However, my girlfriend tried to record the show on her iPod and was told to turn it off. :(

So...have fun and take lots of pics!!! Can't wait to see them!

Did they do a frisk or search your purse???Hee hee! I'm trying to think where to put it! I just bought a sony 10x zoom that's not to big but not sure if I have to sneak it or if its fine in the bottom of my purse! Maybe I could squeeze it in a boot or sock! Lol!
can't wait to see the rest of yours too... Great pics the ones I've seen!

kennation 03-06-2009 10:42 AM

I asked in an earlier post, but did anyone get a video? Or at least some sound... I am STALKING Silver Springs for fear that she will calm down before Sunday and it will be another SYW deal...

Erin 03-06-2009 12:09 PM

I will try to take some video tonight. Silver Springs duly noted. As for Allstate/Rosemont did you all know they "christened" the venue, i.e. they were the first act to play there in 79. It is ****ty sound generally, but I can't think of a large venue in Chicago that isn't. I think the United Center is even worse. I haven't been to the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, however.

Glad everyone had a good time. I'm very excited for tonight!

Awesome trivia about them christening the venue. That's cool. Thanks for keeping your head up on Silver Springs. I appreciate it. Tonight is the last concert before my show... YAAAAAYY!!!! :blob1: :blob2: :]

I lost a Leica at one of Lindsey's solo concerts and after that, I never really try to bring them anymore, but I would hide them in my back waistband. I'd have on a jacket and that would cover the bulge. 80% of the time they do such a cursory examination of your purse that you can sneak it in that way, but just in case they are more thorough having it on your person where there is no bulge seems to be secure.

The acoustics are about the same as the United Center, if not worse. Its an old barn (complete with wooden roof). Due to its proximity to O'Hare, the ceiling is dramatically lower than most comparable venues- thus, all the seats are practically right on top of each other, creating a very cramped, uncomfortable feel. The concourses, also cramped and confusingly meandering, give the impression they were designed by a drunken five year old. Its less than 30 years old, but gives every impression that its twice or three times that.

The main parking lot is so small and cramped that its one of those where you have to wait for everyone around you to leave first before you can go. If you can't park there, you have to park in neighboring lots and take a shuttle to the venue. Rosemont (the city) is a seedy dump, and public transportation from Chicago is a royal pain.

I've been to a lot of concerts in a lot of different venues in a lot of different cities, and, without question, Allstate Arena is far and away the worst.

DON'T HOLD BACK, LUKE! LOL It's nice that someone is giving a good warning, though. I always want to hear the warnings before I consider my course of action. However: I seriously doubt a drunken five year old could have accomplished that design... I am just saying... The drunken 5 year olds I know are lazy bast*rds...
